Podcasting Tonight: Californication!

Is Nancy Pelosi the face of our nation’s future?

John Hoge and I will be cranking up the machinery of The Other Podcast at 7 p.m. ET tonight and one of the things we’ll be talking about is the Democrats’ plan to Californicate America, endorsed by Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. As Townhall’s Matt Vespa says, “if California’s politics is the future of the country, I’d rather chug bleach.”

There are many disturbing aspects of this proposal to make California “a model for America as a whole,” including the fact that there are more Hispanics than whites in California. It’s now North Mexico, basically — a Democrat-controlled statewide ghetto: “Junkies and crackheads get high on the streets of San Francisco, urinating and defecating in public, and the liberal Democrats who control the city seem to believe this situation is perfectly acceptable.” California is the state that sends Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters to Congress, and I’ve explained what California meant in the 2016 election:

One of the “arguments” (an excuse, actually) employed by Democrats after Hillary Clinton lost the 2016 election was, “She won the popular vote!” To which the proper reply is, “Where?” In a handful of large urban states where Republican Donald Trump did not campaign, Clinton won by huge margins, and this proves . . .? Nothing, really.
In California, Clinton won with 62% of the vote, 7.4 million to 3.9 million, a margin of nearly 3.5 million votes (3,446,281 to be exact). Nationwide, Clinton got 65,853,516 votes to Trump’s 62,984,825 — a margin of exactly 2,868,691. In other words, her margin in California alone was more than enough to account for why she “won” the popular vote, which is completely irrelevant in our Electoral College system.

Did I mention the lesbian couple driving off the California cliff with an SUV full of adopted black children? Because that’s a pretty good metaphor for what Democrats want to do to America.

We will go live at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. Pacific, for the unfortunate doomed souls trapped in California) and the call-in number is (646) 668-2541.

By the way, could I ask readers to throw a few bucks in the tip jar to help defray expenses? Any amount — $3 for a cup of coffee, $6 for a pack of smokes, $17.76 to show your patriotism — will be welcome.

New-Age Cult Connection Emerges in Lesbian Couple’s Mystery Suicide Plunge

Jennifer and Sarah Hart, the lesbian couple who adopted six children and drove off a cliff in an apparent family suicide last month, had connections to a New Age spirituality cult, according to multiple sources.

The Harts regularly attended the Beloved Festival in Oregon, which involves former followers of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (“Osho”), a notorious guru who was recently the subject of a Netflix documentary series. A March 30 message on the festival’s Facebook page called the Harts “extraordinary members of our community, our family,” and posted photos of the Harts and their children at the annual festival.

Public questions about the Harts’ association with the New Age scene in Portland, Oregon, have intensified as police continue investigating why the couple apparently drove their SUV off a 100-foot oceanside cliff in northern California, killing themselves and at least three of the black children they had adopted from Texas:

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s office on Thursday said that, contrary to numerous previous statements, neither Jennifer Hart, who was driving the SUV, nor Sarah Hart was wearing a seatbelt when the vehicle crashed off the California coast last month.
Investigators have said since soon after the crash that both women were buckled in but the children weren’t when the car went over the 100-foot cliff.
“Information released … by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office incorrectly stated that Jennifer Hart and Sarah Hart were wearing a seat-belt during the incident,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release. “Investigators from the California Highway Patrol … determined Jennifer Hart and Sarah Hart were not wearing seat-belts during the incident.”
That detail could prove important as investigators work to determine whether the crash, which killed both women and three of their adopted children, was an accident or an intentional act. A search continues for their other three adopted children, who remain missing but are thought to have been in the vehicle.
On Wednesday night, however, Mendocino County Sheriff Tom Allman, whose agency is heading up the investigation into the crash, said in the most definitive terms to date that he believes the crash was intentional.
“I’m to the point where I’m no longer calling this an accident, I’m calling it a crime,” he told HLN’s Ashleigh Banfield.

The Harts had been repeatedly investigated for child abuse. In 2011, Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic assault in Minnesota after one of the girls told a teacher she was beaten at home. Not long after that, the Harts relocated to Oregon, where a friend reported them for child abuse in 2013. After that, the Harts moved to Washington State, where they were again the subject of a child abuse complaint last month. Days after that complaint, the couple died when police say Jennifer Hart deliberately drove their GMC Yukon off the California cliff; all six children were believed to be in the vehicle at the time of the deadly crash, but three are still missing, presumably washed out to sea.

The Hart family’s SUV plunged off an oceanside cliff in California.

Details of the New Age connection to the Hart family were highlighted by journalist Kristin Rawls in a long Twitter thread about the case. Rawls was critical of the mainstream media coverage:

Even though police have now admitted this was intentional, every article still includes a comment from some acquaintance suggesting the parents were “heroes” who “turned those kids’ lives around.” This is so insulting to the children.

Rawls took note of a 2013 video from the Beloved Festival in which Devonte Hart, who carried a “Free Hugs” sign during the family’s travels, went onstage to hug popular New Age musician Xavier Rudd. Devonte became briefly famous in 2014 when a photo of him hugging a police officer at a “Black Lives Matter” rally in Portland went viral.

Portland-based photographer Zippy Lomax first met the Harts at the Beloved Festival, and was quoted in news coverage of their deaths:

“I was in awe of them. I think that I speak for a lot of people. I was inspired by them. They gave me hope,” said Lomax.
She snapped dozens of photos of the family about five years ago at the Beloved Festival in Oregon where she met them. Through Lomax’s lens, the Harts were a model family.
“There was no question as to how completely loved and adored those children were,” said Lomax. “We all have lost something because I don’t think there are a lot of examples of families like that, and of kids like that who were so selfless.”
All six children were adopted by Jennifer, 39, and Sarah Hart, 39. Friends in the community know them as the Hart Tribe. They recently moved to Woodland, Washington, where neighbors say there were possible signs of abuse and neglect.
“None of that computes. I’ll tell you, none of that lines up with the people that we all knew,” said Lomax. “Jen and Sarah, I think, were the parents that this world desperately needs.”

Kristin Rawls remarked that several people quoted by media defending the Hart family were connected to the Beloved Festival:

But it turns out that the Harts were involved with a New Age cult in Oregon led by followers of Rajneesh/Osho (he of the Wild Wild Country docuseries on Netflix). Those defending the Harts in the media are also members.
Names of group members who have defended this family to the media include Max Ribner (a musician with Nahko and Medicine for the People), Kristina Pescatore and Elijah Parker. They seem to be involved with Beloved Festival and something called OneDoorLand.

Among those Rawls connected to the Beloved Festival is the popular New Age musician Deva Premal, who met her husband in Rajneesh’s cult.

In the days immediately following the March 26 discovery of the fatal crash in California, mainstream media quoted praise for the Harts from their acquaintances without mentioning their New Age associations. For example, a March 30 Washington Post story:

Samantha Sinclair, a Portland trauma nurse who has known the family since 2014, described their home as one of joy, filled with books, music and healthful food.
“Their story is not about abuse,” she said. “It is a story of triumph and love.” . . .
“Jen and Sarah were providing a hilarious, joyful life for these kids,” Sinclair said. “They were what gave me hope for the future.”

The Post article neglected to mention that Sinclair practices pagan shamanism, “soul retrieval and power animal rediscovery.”

Pagan shaman Samantha Sinclair.

The Hart family had been involved in the New Age music scene in Minnesota, which is where they met Max Ribner in 2012:

Family friend Max Ribner, a Portland musician who plays in the band Nahko and Medicine for the People, said the Harts were amazing parents.
“They’d nursed those six kids back to life,” he said. “These children were coming from some of the roughest childhoods you could imagine.”
Ribner said he first met the family in 2012 when playing the Shangri-La music festival in Clarks Grove, Minnesota. He said he remembered the Hart children because they had dressed in matching outfits and were as close to the stage as possible. The family, he said, always traveled as a pack.
Ribner said that Sarah Hart first came out to Portland around 2012 to look for a job and to see if the area would be a good fit for their family. They’d been living Alexandria, Minnesota, a small town of 13,000 northwest of Minneapolis.
She found a job at Kohl’s. Jennifer and the kids joined her sometime in 2013, he said.
“I think there was an openness of community out here that gave them some breathing room from the challenges they had in Minnesota.”

Crime Online reporter Ellen Killoran interviewed one member of the New Age “tribe” in Minnesota who knew the Hart family well:

“If you had asked me two weeks ago I would have just ranted and raved and told you how wonderful and perfect they are,” said Arlain Ingeldew, who knew the Harts as fellow members of a community she described as a group of hundreds of people drawn together by music, who attended the same festivals. Arlain said that she would often camp alongside the Hart family at Harmony Park, an outdoor event venue next to Lake Geneva in southern Minnesota.
CrimeOnline has reached out to several people believed to be part of this so-called community, of which little is known, and only Arlain agreed to speak.
“The festivals we go to are all about the music and art and loving nature and loving each other,” she said. “And harmony.” . . .
“They were just a blessing. It’s unbelievable what happened here,” she said. “So many of us are flabbergasted.”
Arlain said . . . she frequently spent time with them at these musical gatherings and never saw anything that concerned her. She said the children seemed happy and well cared-for, and were always well behaved. She stayed in touch with the family on social media after they moved from Minnesota, where she lives.
“I would say [Jennifer and Sarah] were equal partners, madly in love, in love with life, in love with the children,” Arlain said.
“They were just idolized for being the perfect family.”

Unfortunately, this “perfect family” drove off a cliff in California. Now, according to Kristin Rawls, New Age cultists are “involved in an active misinformation campaign to salvage the reputations of their ;community’ and Jennifer and Sarah Hart.”

Mystery After Lesbian Couple’s Apparent Suicidal Plunge Off California Cliff

The Hart family at a 2016 Bernie Sanders campaign rally.

A lesbian couple, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, adopted six black children. One of those children, Devonte Hart, became briefly famous in 2014 after a photo of him tearfully hugging a white policeman at a “Black Lives Matter” protest rally in Portland, Oregon, went viral. Police now fear Devonte is dead, along with his five siblings, after the Hart family’s SUV drove off a cliff into the Pacific Ocean in northern California:

The SUV that authorities said was carrying a family of eight — two parents and six adopted children — was traveling at 90 mph before it plunged off a California cliff last week, according to court documents obtained by a local TV station.
Fox affiliate KPTV in Oregon reported that the SUV’s speedometer was “pinned” at that speed, indicating that the vehicle remained in motion after it fell and just before it hit the rocks 100 feet below on the Pacific Coast Highway. Investigators also did not find any marks showing that the vehicle either accelerated or slowed down before it reached the cliff, or any evidence that it crashed into the embankment as it “traversed towards the tidal zone below,” according the documents cited by KPTV.
The crash, which killed a family that had once captured the world’s attention, has left troubling questions. Killed are the two mothers, Jennifer Jean Hart and Sarah Margaret Hart, both 38, and at least three of their adopted children. The other three remain missing.
The TV report provides a glimpse into what may have preceded the Monday afternoon crash at the ocean overlook near Westport, California, a small community about 180 miles north of San Francisco. Child services officials in Washington state, where the family lived, also have confirmed that they had begun investigating the Harts over “alleged abuse or neglect” days earlier.

The Hart family’s SUV plunged off an oceanside cliff in California.

More from the Los Angeles Times:

The search for three missing siblings feared dead after their family’s SUV plunged down a cliff into the sea last week has been delayed by rough conditions on the California coast.
Strong currents, frigid water and rough waves have prevented Mendocino County Sheriff’s divers and rescuers from looking for the missing Hart children, Lt. Shannon Barney said Monday. . . .
The children are Devonte Hart, 15, who was briefly famous for a powerful 2014 photograph of the teen tearfully hugging a police sergeant in Oregon at a protest amid unrest in Ferguson, Mo., and his sisters Hannah and Sierra Hart, 16 and 12, respectively.
Authorities said they believe the three were in the car with their siblings, Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14, and Abigail, 14, and their parents, Jennifer and Sarah Hart, both 38, when their GMC Yukon dropped 100 feet onto the rocky Mendocino County shore off Highway 1 near Juan Creek.
The fatal plunge appears to have been intentional based on the lack of skid marks and the fact that the vehicle was at a full stop before accelerating off the cliff, the California Highway Patrol said Monday. . . .
Three of the children’s bodies were found outside the vehicle. The parents’ bodies were found inside. Investigators believe the three missing siblings were also in the crash based on interviews with Hart family and friends. . . .
There were no skid marks or brake marks, and the couple’s children had recently been identified by child welfare authorities as possible victims of abuse and neglect.

Originally from Minnesota, the couple moved to the Portland suburb of West Linn, Oregon, and moved to Washington State last year:

A search warrant was served at the home of Jennifer Jean Hart and Sarah Margaret Hart on Thursday.
A search warrant affidavit was granted in Clark County in connection with this investigation for items including travel itinerary, bank records, cell phone records, credit card billing statements, bank receipts, notes, journals and possible suicide notes.
No details have been released about the results of the search at the couple’s home. The couple purchased the home in May 2017 and previously lived in West Linn. . . .
Neighbors in Woodland told FOX 12 this week they contacted Child Protective Services when one of the children, 15-year-old Devonte Hart, came to their home begging for food for himself and his siblings.
The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services released a statement Wednesday confirming a case was opened regarding the family last Friday, as “the now-deceased children were identified as potential victims of alleged abuse or neglect.”

KWG-TV reports:

Authorities in Oregon, Washington and Minnesota all received reports of child welfare concerns involving the Hart family prior to the family’s fatal crash on the California coast, records and interviews show. . . .
Over the past decade, the family has lived in Alexandria, Minnesota; West Linn, Oregon; and Woodland, Washington. Friends say the family was loving but records show several allegations of abuse or neglect.
One of the Hart’s daughters Abigail, then 6 years old, told her teacher [in 2010] that she had “owies” on her tummy and back, according to a complaint filed in Minnesota. The teacher said she saw bruises on her stomach and back. Abigail then told her teacher, “mom hit me.”
During an interview with detectives, Sarah Hart admitted to spanking her daughter and she said she let her anger get out of control, according to the complaint.
Jennifer Hart told investigators she knew that Sarah spanked her daughter.
Sarah Hart pleaded guilty to domestic assault and was sentenced to 90 days in jail but wasn’t required to serve time due to terms of her probation.

So one of the parents had a criminal conviction for abuse eight years ago, and the family was also investigated by Washington State authorities in 2013, yet they were idealized by local liberals:

“Jen and Sarah were the kinds of parents this world desperately needs,” said Portland photographer Zippy Lomax, who had known the family since 2012. “They loved their kids more than anything else.”
The Hart family was a regular at Oregon festivals and shows, Lomax said, including the Beloved festival in Tidewater. They also joined presidential candidate Bernie Sanders onstage during a 2016 rally in Vancouver. . . .
Court records and recent neighbors, however, portray a family that was at times strained.
The Harts and their children left their home Friday shortly after no one answered the door for a visit by the authorities, according to neighbors and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Bruce and Dana DeKalb, who lived next door, said they rarely spoke with the family, which about 10 months ago moved to the remote wooded area in northern Clark County.
Dana DeKalb said Devonte had come to their home a dozen times to ask for food, saying his parents had withheld it as a form of punishment. The teen would ask the couple to leave the food by the fence they shared so his parents wouldn’t know, she said. . . .
Bill Groener, who lived next door to the family in West Linn, said they kept to themselves and the kids mostly stayed indoors – even in good weather. Groener said the only contact he had with the family is when they went out to get the mail.
“Something,” Groener said, “just didn’t seem right.”

Will the “Black Lives Matter” movement have anything to say about this?

California Democrat Is Unemployed

Gregory Salcido is a Democrat. A member of the city council in the Los Angeles suburb of Pico Rivera, Salcido ran for Congress as a Democrat in 2002, but lost the primary. Salcido’s politics are relevant to the repeated controversies that have plagued his career as a history teacher at El Rancho High School. In 2005, a parent complained that Salcido had initiated a classroom discussion of masturbation. In 2010, Salcido was suspended after reportedly telling a student, “shut up Kelly before I kill you.” In 2012, Salcido was again in trouble for hitting a student and allegedly making fun of the boy’s obesity. These incidents could be regarded in hindsight as “red flags” warning that Salcido was headed toward the self-destruction he reached in January this year:

A Southern California high school teacher was caught on camera denigrating the intelligence of people serving in the US military.
In the videos, which were stealthily recorded in class by a student at El Rancho High in Pico Rivera, California, history teacher Gregory Salcido, 49, can be heard making a variety of unflattering remarks about service people, at one point calling them the ‘lowest of the low.’ . . .
In one of the clips, Salcido can be heard saying, ‘Think about the people who you know are over there. Your freakin’ stupid Uncle Louie or whatever. They’re dumb s***ts. They’re not like high-level thinkers. They’re not academic people. They’re not intellectual people.’
He then says that overseas service people are ‘the freakin’ lowest of our low. Not morally — I’m not saying they make bad moral decisions — they’re not talented people.’ . . .
‘The data is in, we don’t have a good military,’ Salcido says.
The 17-year-old high school senior who shot the videos . . . said that his brother and uncles were Marines who fought in Afghanistan, Desert Storm and Vietnam, and that Salcido’s comments were ‘so disrespectful.’

Now, the “disrespectful” anti-American teacher is unemployed:

A California school district fired a teacher on Tuesday following his viral rant where he called the military the “lowest of our low.”
The El Rancho Unified School District voted unanimously to fire history teacher and Pico Rivera councilman Gregory Salcido, reported Fox News.
“[Salcido’s] comments do not reflect what we stand for, who we are,” El Rancho board of education president Aurora Villon said. “The classroom should never be a place where students feel that they are picked at, bullied, intimidated.” . . .
Aside from making headlines, Salcido’s screed earned him attention from White House chief of staff John Kelly, who said the former teacher “ought to go to hell.”
“I just hope he enjoys the liberties and the lifestyle that we have fought for,” Kelly, who retired from the Marine Corps, told Fox News.

California Democrats hate America.

California vs. America

Donald Trump was elected President of the United States, but the Democrat Party controls California, and Democrats are against the United States:

Early this month, Attorney General Jeff Sessions declared war on the State of California. At least that’s the way many opponents of the Trump Administration saw it. Speaking to the California Peace Officers’ Association in Sacramento, Sessions announced that the Department of Justice was suing the state for passing three laws to protect undocumented immigrants –– measures, Sessions said, that “intentionally obstruct the work of our sworn immigration-enforcement officers.” California, he continued, was endangering those officers and “advancing an open-borders philosophy shared by only the most radical extremists.”
Jerry Brown, a Democrat, now in his fourth term as governor of California, reacted to Sessions with undisguised irritation. He had signed the most inflammatory of the laws—the so-called sanctuary-state law, which limits local and state coöperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement—only after demanding many changes. He wanted to insure that ice would still be able to do its job. His contempt for the White House was palpable. “Look, we know the Trump Administration is full of liars,” Brown told reporters. “They’ve pled guilty already to the special counsel.” Brown was clearly agitated; his face was flushed, and he gestured with his left arm to emphasize his distress. “I would assume — this is pure speculation — that Jeff thinks that Donald will be happier with him, and I’m sure Donald will be tweeting his joy at this particular performance,” Brown said. “But it’s not about law enforcement, it’s not about justice, and it really demeans the high office to which he’s been appointed.”
Few Democrats in such an influential job have spoken more intemperately about the Administration. And yet Brown steered away from the language of absolutism. To Sessions, Brown said, “I still put my hand out and say, ‘I’ll coöperate, Jeff, if you can get off this current maneuver you’re on, because it’s unbecoming.’ ” Later, Brown told me that the battle launched by Sessions would be complicated and prolonged. “Trump won’t even be President by the time it gets to the Supreme Court,” he said. . . .

Democrats control California because California hates America.

California: The Crazy State

Junkies and crackheads get high on the streets of San Francisco, urinating and defecating in public, and the liberal Democrats who control the city seem to believe this situation is perfectly acceptable. Meanwhile, Southern California “finds itself in the midst of a homelessness emergency”:

You cannot walk more than few blocks through [downtown San Diego] without encountering people living in tents or cars, even sleeping curled up in the middle of the sidewalk.

The insanity produced by decades of liberal policies has caused an exodus of the state’s middle-class population. So many people are moving out of (and so few Americans are moving into) the Bay Area that it now costs $2,000 to get a U-Haul trailer in San Francisco. Americans don’t want to live in California, but foreign criminals do:

California has its first illegal alien in state office, after Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) appointed Lizbeth Mateo to the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Project Grant Advisory Committee.
Mateo, an attorney, was born in Mexico and came to the U.S. illegally at the age of 14 with her parents, who are also illegal aliens, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Of course, California is home to Hollywood, a corrupt sewer of decadent immorality crawling with predatory perverts, and the state voted for Hillary Clinton (personal friend of Harvey Weinstein) by a nearly 2-to-1 margin in 2016. California’s legislature (which has its own sex scandal) granted “sanctuary” status to illegal aliens, in effect declaring U.S. immigration law null and void within its borders. When this provoked criticism from President Trump, California U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris responded on Twitter: “California represents the future, and it’s no surprise we’re leading the fight against Trump’s radical agenda.”

It’s a “radical agenda” to enforce the law, according to California Democrats, and “California represents the future,” by which we may suppose Sen. Harris means that homeless crackheads will soon be defecating on streets everywhere, from coast to coast.

A suggestion for Republicans: Given that California is a Democrat stronghold, and that the few vulnerable GOP-held House seats in the state are home to middle-class people who don’t want crackheads on their streets, make the midterm campaign a referendum on California.

Do Americans want California’s Nancy Pelosi and her Democrat colleagues to take over Congress? Do they want California’s Maxine Waters to take over the House Financial Services Committee? Do they want to impose California’s liberal insanity on the entire nation?

My guess is that if Republicans make this the central question of the fall congressional campaign, the hyped-up prospect of a Democrat “blue wave” in November will turn out to be barely a ripple.

The Queer State of California

News from the Left Coast:

The Palm Springs, Calif., City Council now has transgender and bisexual members — and is entirely LGBT or queer.
Lisa Middleton made history as the first openly trans candidate elected to a nonjudicial office in California (Victoria Kolakowski was elected an Alameda County Superior Court judge in 2010). She and Christy Holstege, a bi woman, won the two open seats on the City Council in a field of six candidates in Tuesday’s election. Their election means that the desert city’s council is 100 percent LGBT or queer, according to Equality California, with representation from across the spectrum of those identities.

This consolidation of LGBT power was celebrated by Equality California and the Victory Fund. The latter group spent more than $600 million during the 2012 election campaign. In politics, a highly organized (and well-funded) minority can always defeat the disorganized majority. This is why the preferences of lobbyists matter more in Washington than do the interests of average Americans. The success of the LGBT lobby in gaining complete control of Palm Springs government demonstrates this, and also demonstrates that demographics is destiny.

The media age of the population of Palm Springs is 51, substantially older than the U.S. median age of 37. Why is this? Well, Palm Springs attracts a lot of retirees, and has very few children. Those under age 15 are only 11% of Palm Springs residents, whereas nearly 20% of the U.S. population is under 15. If the residents of Palm Springs are having very few children, and the elderly residents don’t work, where will they find the workforce to provide all the services necessary to maintain this affluent community of nearly 50,000? Oh, yes — immigrants. Twenty-five percent of Palm Springs residents are Hispanic, and another 5 percent are Asian. Who do you think will be working behind the counter at the Petsmart store in Palm Springs when the rich white gay people go shopping for Christmas gifts for their cats? Who collects their garbage and hauls it to the landfill? What is the ethnicity of the housekeeping staff at the Palm Springs hospital where the white old folks go when they’re sick?

There is an obvious correlation between support for “gay rights” and advocacy of an open-borders immigration policy. Rich white liberals (gay or otherwise) tend to have few children if any, and are in favor of importing brown people to work in menial service jobs. The lesbian sociology professor flatters herself that she is supporting “diversity” as she buys her $3 Starbucks latte from the Salvadoran barista.

The Kakistocracy points out that white liberals often ride to power on brown horses, so to speak. Yet this is always a transient phenomenon, as eventually the riders will be tossed from their saddles. Herb Stein famously observed, “If something cannot go on forever, it will stop,” and the kind of demographic trend exemplified by the election of an all-LGBT city council in Palm Springs is ultimately unsustainable.

Freedom of Speech Is Genocide and Other Lessons From the 21st-Century University

Edith Macias became infamous a couple of weeks ago when a viral video showed the University of California-Riverside (UCR) student stealing a “Make America Great Again” cap from another student. An ethnic studies major, Macias demanded that the hat’s owner be punished. At one point during the video, when the hat’s owner Matthew Vitale cited his First Amendment free speech rights, Macias said: “Your f–king freedom of speech is genocide, homeboy.” After a UCR employee took the hat from her, Macias said: “We’re in a country where literally people of color are getting genocide, they’re getting killed.”

This is the American education system in the 21st century.

Edith Macias was merely repeating what she has been taught at UCR, where the notorious Andrea Smith (“Heteropatriarchy and the Three Pillars of White Supremacy”) is on the Ethnic Studies faculty. Students at UCR, as at many other universities in America, are taught an anti-white ideology in the guise of “social justice.” Only 12% of UCR students are white, while 41% are Hispanic and 34% are Asian. White students like Matthew Vitale are demonized and scapegoated at UCR, and are not even allowed to speak out in opposition to the climate of anti-white hatred on campus: “Your f–king freedom of speech is genocide, homeboy.”

Why do you think so many people are leaving California?

According to IRS migration data, which uses individual income tax returns to record year-to-year address changes, over 250,000 California residents moved out of the state between 2013 and 2014, the latest period for which data was available. The tax returns reported more than $21 billion in adjusted gross income to the IRS.
Of the returns, 33,626 reported address changes from California to Texas, which has been the top destination for individuals leaving California since 2007. Californians who moved to Texas between 2013 and 2014 reported $2.19 billion in adjusted gross income. . . .
According to Tom Gray of the Manhattan Institute, people may be leaving California for the employment opportunities, tax breaks, or less crowded living arrangements that other states offer.
“States with low unemployment rates, such as Texas, are drawing people from California, whose rate is above the national average,” Gray wrote. “Taxation also appears to be a factor, especially as it contributes to the business climate and, in turn, jobs.”

The high taxes in California are used to fund an education system which is teaching students that freedom of speech is genocide. Promoting this hateful ideology of “social justice” on university campuses will only exacerbate the economic problems of the poor people who are left behind when taxpayers — people with jobs and money — leave California.

What kind of jobs will Ethnic Studies majors be qualified to do? How much tax revenue will they provide to California? Isn’t it likely that many of those enrolled at University of California-Riverside will never even be able to repay their student loans? It is no surprise to learn that UCR students are rallying in defense of the hat thief:

The “Statement of Solidarity with Edith Macias” circulating within the campus community states in part that UC administration should “pay for alternate housing accommodations for Macias and their family while simultaneously covering their current housing costs in order to keep them safe from threats of harm.”
The demand cites Vitale’s viral video, saying Macias has been doxxed and threatened as a result. It also calls for administrators to “grant Macias amnesty and protection from any student or legal charges.”
It also seeks a statement against “white supremacist violence” and one in support of sanctuary campuses from campus leaders.

What “white supremacist violence” are they talking about? The defense of freedom of speech on a university campus is “violence”? This is what students are being taught as “social justice” not just in California, but at many other schools in America. A rhetoric of hatred inspired by propaganda that demonizes white people — including Christopher Columbus — will not solve anybody’s economic or social problems.

This kind of “education” is paving the road to Zimbabwe, where the Mugabe regime confiscated the property of white people:

High unemployment, widespread poverty and government corruption have all contributed to making life miserable for many citizens. Economically, Zimbabwe is facing huge challenges: It has had no national currency since 2009, when the Zimbabwean dollar collapsed under massive hyperinflation . . .

Zimbabwe, like Venezuela, is a lesson in what happens when “social justice” — an ideology of hatred — becomes the policy of government. If you think it can’t happen in America, just consider what kind of government we’ll have if people like Edith Macias take over.
