NBC Fires ‘Today’ Host Matt Lauer

Stunning news:

Matt Lauer, the anchor of “Today” for two decades, was fired by NBC News after a detailed complaint about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.
“Today” co-anchors Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb announced Lauer’s firing Wednesday, telling viewers at the top of the show that they were processing his departure but didn’t yet know all of the details.
In a memo to employees sent Wednesday morning, NBC News Chairman Andrew Lack said the complaint, which was made by a colleague of Lauer’s, prompted a serious review and represented a “clear violation of our company’s standards.”
Lack said it was the first complaint lodged against Lauer, 59, for his behavior since he took over as anchor of the show in 1997, but there was “reason to believe” it may not have been an isolated incident.
“Our highest priority is to create a workplace environment where everyone feels safe and protected, and to ensure that any actions that run counter to our core values are met with consequences, no matter who the offender,” Lack said.

UPDATE: We are now about seven weeks into the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse that began in early October with revelations of Harvey Weinstein’s predatory behavior. As I have explained, the reason this is happening is because Hillary lost and Trump won. The zero-tolerance no-mercy attitude toward male misconduct is a product of feminist rage over Trump’s victory; they cannot destroy him, so they’ll destroy any man within range. The only way to save yourself? Avoid feminists.

UPDATE II: Because everybody is now speculating what it was Lauer did, I feel it necessary to share my hunch:

This is only a hunch. When we get breaking news like this, there is always a flood of online speculation, and I don’t want to contribute to that by claiming any special knowledge. However, it is obvious that whatever Lauer did must have been very serious, and possibly criminal.

 

Is @NickCarter a Rapist?

When my oldest daughter was 12 or 13, she was all about the Backstreet Boys, especially Nick Carter. So it was weird to see this headline:

Does this story make sense? You’re the most popular member of the biggest teen group of the era, the idol of millions, and you rape a girl?

Well, maybe. Let’s not pretend it can’t be true. Until a few weeks ago, who knew that Al Franken was a serial groper, allegedly, or that Alabama’s Roy Moore was banned from the Gadsden Mall, allegedly?

After the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse began with the downfall of Harvey Weinstein, I predicted it was a long way from ending. What I didn’t predict was that it would include this kind of story:

[Schuman] then a part of the all-girl teen group Dream, wrote Carter had invited her over to his house during a day off from a movie they were both starring in.
Schuman wrote she had brought her roommate with her and claimed the boyband singer took her into the bathroom and they had started kissing.
It was then, she wrote, that Carter allegedly began to unbutton her pants and ignored her objections before allegedly performing oral sex on her. Schuman claimed he then demanded she perform oral sex on him.
Despite allegedly telling Carter that she was a virgin and was waiting until marriage to have sex, Carter allegedly led her to his bedroom where she claims that he raped her.
“He threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me. Again, I told him that I was a virgin and I didn’t want to have sex. I told him that I was saving myself for my future husband. I said it over and over again. He whispered in my ear as to entice me, ‘I could be your husband,’” Schuman alleges.
“He was relentless, refusing to take my no’s for an answer. He was heavy, too heavy to get out from under him. Then I felt it, he put something inside of me. I asked him what it was and he whispered in my ear once more, ‘It’s all me baby.’”

This sounds like a scene from a Danielle Steel romance novel, but just because the dialogue is cheesy, and the plot seems contrived, that doesn’t mean it didn’t actually happen that way. We have to ask, what would a 22-year-old teen idol say while he’s raping an 18-year-old virgin?

Answer: It doesn’t matter. Nobody’s going to believe that crazy bitch.

Or that’s what Backstreet Boys’ manager Lou Pearlman might have said.

 

You may have forgotten about Pearlman, the man who created the Backstreet Boys and who died in prison last year, having been convicted of swindling investors of $300 million in a Ponzi scheme. It was also reported that Pearlman was a homosexual pedophile:

“Some guys joked about it; I remember [one singer] asking me, ‘Have you let Lou blow you yet?’” says Steve Mooney, an aspiring singer who served as Pearlman’s assistant and lived in his home for two years. “I would absolutely say the guy was a sexual predator. All the talent knew what Lou’s game was. If they say no, they’re lying to you.”

If the Backstreet Boys were playing “Lou’s game,” we must ask, was what Nick Carter allegedly did to Melissa Schuman worse? That is to say, are there any recognized moral standards in show business? Your manager’s a pedophile swindler, so what’s wrong with a little date rape, eh?

The Latest @LenaDunham Debacle: Feminist Becomes ‘Rape Truther’

When the University of Virginia rape hoax began to collapse under the weight of Jackie Coakley’s lies in December 2014, Amanda Marcotte coined the term “rape truther” to describe “people who want to deny that rape is a serious social problem.” This was a dishonest smear. Critics of Rolling Stone‘s bogus journalism weren’t denying the seriousness of rape, although many were dubious of the widely touted “1-in-5” statistic used to justify Obama-era Title IX policy that deprived male students of their due-process rights in campus disciplinary proceedings.

“Rape truthers,” Marcotte said, “want to push the idea that many rape cases are just a matter of women lying because they are crazy or vindictive.” Well, this depends on what you mean by “rape cases” and what you mean by “many.” Amid the climate of sexual paranoia ginned up by campus feminists, there seemed to be “many” instances where belated remorse over a drunken hookup gave rise to accusations of rape. Under university policies mandated by Obama-era rules, these “cases” were not reported to police, but rather were adjudicated in administrative hearings where the accused male student was quite deliberately denied basic rights that would be accorded to any common criminal.

The UVA hoax was the very worst example of this problem. Jackie Coakley invented her fictional rapist, “Haven Monahan,” made up a wild tale of violent gang rape that implicated one of the most prestigious fraternities on campus, and nearly got away with deceiving the world, had it not been for those determined critics who inspired other journalists to double-check Sabrina Erdely Rubin’s lurid Rolling Stone article. Before the truth could be discovered, however, UVA President Teresa Sullivan suspended all fraternity social activities on campus and, even after police cleared Phi Kappa Psi, Sullivan imposed new restrictions on fraternities. Feminists exploited a false accusation of rape to create a mentality of collective guilt that became the basis of policy, and this was a microcosm of how the Obama administration’s “Dear Colleague” letter had weaponized Title IX to punish male students. So, yes, the truth at UVA mattered, but Amanda Marcotte didn’t want to admit this.

Fast forward, three years after the collapse of the UVA rape hoax, and the Sexual Harassment Apocalypse is upon us. Every day brings new accusations, including this terrifying tale of Hollywood depravity:

Actress Aurora Perrineau has gone to police to accuse “Girls” writer and executive producer Murray Miller of raping her in 2012, when she was 17 years old, TheWrap has exclusively learned.
Perrineau, who has appeared in Jennifer Lawrence’s “Passengers” and is the daughter of “Lost” actor Harold Perrineau, told TheWrap she filed a report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Friday.
TheWrap obtained the results of a polygraph test Perrineau said she passed in September in which she detailed her accusations against Murray, who was also a producer on the Fox animated comedies “King of the Hill” and “American Dad.”

The creator of Girls defended the man accused of raping a girl:

Lena Dunham came to the defense of a “Girls” writer accused of rape on Friday, and some Twitter users have called her out for choosing to support the alleged perpetrator over his female accuser.
“Never call yourself an advocate for women again because you’ve just proven that you are NOT,” one user wrote. Several others dug up a tweet of Dunham’s from August in which she said women do not lie about rape.
The backlash came after Dunham spoke out against actress Aurora Perrineau, who filed a police report on Friday saying she did not consent to sex with “Girls” writer Murray Miller in 2012 when she was 17. . . .
“While our first instinct is to listen to every woman’s story, our insider knowledge of Murray’s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3% of assault cases that are misreported every year,” Dunham said in a statement cosigned by her “Girls” showrunner Jenni Konner. . . .
“Lena Dunham and Jenni Konner have spent so much time boasting about their feminist political commitments. Yet, all of their feminist righteousness goes out of the window as soon as their friend is accused. White women are an absolute trip,” wrote Bitch Media senior culture editor Evette Dionne. . . .
Perrineau said she was with two friends when Miller asked one of them for a ride home “because he was drunk,” and the group agreed. Miller was 35 at the time. “At some point, I woke up in Murray’s bed naked. He was on top of me having sexual intercourse with me. At no time did I consent to any sexual contact with Murray,” she said in a statement.

A 17-year-old girl wakes up with a drunk 35-year-old man on top of her — allegedly, I hasten to add — and suddenly Lena Dunham forgets all about her feminist principles, accusing the girl of lying?

One of the basic proofs of the Bible’s truth is the accuracy of prophecy. As every Christian knows, Jesus was the Messiah foretold by Old Testament prophecy, His atoning sacrifice prefigured in the story of Genesis 22, where God requires Abraham to prove his obedience by the sacrifice of Isaac, only to spare the boy at the last minute. The ultimate significance of this was understood by Jesus, of course, in a way that the scribes and Pharisees did not. As Jesus said in the Sermon on the Mount, he came to fulfill the law of the Old Testament, not to destroy it (Matthew 5:17) and by delivering Him up to be crucified by the Roman authorities, the Jewish leaders unwittingly brought about that fulfillment.

Before His death, Jesus prophetically foretold the coming destruction of Herod’s Temple at Jerusalem, which was fulfilled in 70 A.D. His disciples responded to this prophecy by asking Him about the future. Jesus then warned them not to be deceived by false prophets and referring to the Second Coming said, “of that day and hour knoweth no man.”

Not even Jesus could predict to His disciples when the final Judgment Day would come, because this was known by “my Father only” (Matthew 24:36), yet speculation has flourished. Many have offered their own interpretations of the Apostle John’s Book of Revelation, which baffles every attempt to translate its mysterious symbolism into definite meaning. Especially since the the 1960s, various doomsday prophets (including dangerous cult leaders like Charles Manson and David Koresh) have claimed to possess the secret meaning of Revelation.

REPORT: Charlie Sheen Raped 13-Year-Old Actor Corey Haim on Film Set in 1986

A shocking allegation from The National Enquirer:

HIV-infected Charlie Sheen is finally being unmasked by The National ENQUIRER as a twisted child molester — the ruthless adult rapist who child star Corey Haim said sodomized him and pushed him down a drug-fueled path to an early grave!
What’s more, The ENQUIRER’s five-year probe into Haim’s tragic and untimely death at age 38 also unearthed other disturbing accounts of Sheen preying on more children connected to the 1986 film “Lucas” — when the predator, 19, sexually abused then 13-year-old Haim.
“Haim told me he had sex with Sheen when they filmed ‘Lucas,’” Dominick Brascia, a former actor and a close friend of the “Lost Boys” legend, exclusively told The ENQUIRER. “He told me they smoked pot and had sex. He said they had anal sex. Haim said after it happened Sheen became very cold and rejected him. When Corey wanted to fool around again, Charlie was not interested.”
But Brascia said Haim claimed he hooked up with the “Wall Street” star another time — when he was in his mid-to-late 20s. “Haim told me he had sex with Sheen again,” Brascia told The ENQUIRER. “He claimed he didn’t like it and was finally over Sheen. He said Charlie was a loser.”
Brascia is just one of more than 100 people, spread across ten states, contacted by The ENQUIRER as part of its exhaustive probe. His horrid account — after 30-plus years of self-imposed silence — matches those of dozens of other sources who also told The ENQUIRER that Haim named Sheen, now 52 and considered a pariah in Hollywood, as his abuser before he died of pneumonia in 2010.
Brascia’s testimony is specifically backed up by a longtime Sheen confidant, who told The ENQUIRER — on the condition of anonymity for fear of repercussion — the “Platoon” bad boy admitted to a liaison with Haim, but insisted it was consensual. A third individual — a convicted child sex offender — told The ENQUIRER Haim revealed sordid details about the Sheen incident when they worked together on “Lost Boys.”

For the record, Charlie Sheen has “categorically” denied it, but what else do we expect him to do? Since we’re on the subject of Charlie Sheen, however, did anyone even suspect Sheen was bisexual until he admitted he had HIV? No, of course we didn’t. But now that we do know, doesn’t it seem like Sheen’s outrageous “bad boy” behavior — dating porn stars and hookers, etc. — might have been overcompensation? A charade?

Remember that in her 2006 divorce filing, Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards said that, among other things, he was into “gay pornography also involving very young men who also did not look like adults.”

Also, remember when Sheen wanted the President to die?

The Sexual Harassment Apocalypse: More Accusations Against Kevin Spacey

Folks, the bonfire of sexual harassment accusations — in Hollywood, in the news media, in politics — is now an inferno raging out of control. There are so many women accusing so many men of so many wrongdoings that it’s impossible to keep up. Dustin Hoffman? That one shocked me, but it’s 2017, and maybe nothing is really shocking anymore.

As disappointing as the Hoffman story was, Kevin Spacey’s situation is far more serious. Sunday, Spacey was rocked by actor Anthony Rapp’s accusation that Spacey attempted to sexually assault him when Rapp was only 14. That was very bad, and in commenting on it, I noted that there was a lot of online chatter to the effect that Spacey was promiscuous, with a predilection for younger men and was said to solicit sex from male crew members on House of Cards more or less routinely. At the time, that was merely chatter, but Friday morning it became actual news:

Kevin Spacey made the set of Netflix’s “House of Cards” into a “toxic” work environment through a pattern of sexual harassment, eight people who currently work on the show or worked on it in the past tell CNN. One former employee told CNN that Spacey sexually assaulted him.
The former production assistant, whose account has never previously been disclosed, told CNN that Spacey sexually assaulted him during one of the show’s early seasons. All eight people, each of whom spoke to CNN on the condition of anonymity for fear of professional repercussions for speaking out, described Spacey’s behavior as “predatory,” saying it included nonconsensual touching and crude comments and targeted production staffers who were typically young and male.

This confirms the online chatter and, just in case Spacey’s career had not yet been completely destroyed, another man came forward to say that in 1983, when he was 14, he had a sexual affair with Spacey. This ended, he said, when Spacey, then 24, attempted to anally rape him.

OK, how many more teenage victims are there? It doesn’t matter. No matter how many Oscars you’ve got, one 14-year-old exceeds the limit. And have I mentioned lately that Kevin Spacey is a close personal friend of Bill Clinton? Because this probably ought to be mentioned.

First, the news:

In an interview with BuzzFeed News, [Star Trek Discovery actor Anthony] Rapp is publicly alleging for the first time that in 1986, [Kevin] Spacey befriended Rapp while they both performed on Broadway shows, invited Rapp over to his apartment for a party, and, at the end of the night, picked Rapp up, placed him on his bed, and climbed on top of him, making a sexual advance. According to public records, Spacey was 26. Rapp was 14.
For years, Rapp, now 46, told no one about his experience, and he has never spoken with Spacey since. But as Spacey’s star began to rise through the 1990s and 2000s — including a Tony Award, two Oscars, a decadelong run as the creative director of the Old Vic theater in London, and six seasons and counting on the hit Netflix series House of Cards — Rapp’s frustration, anger, and incredulity with the sexual boundary he said Spacey crossed with him grew as well. Seeing Spacey now, “My stomach churns,” Rapp said. “I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me.”

Needless to say, this is what you’d call a “troubling” accusation. And the reaction from Spacey could also be called “troubling”:

Kevin Spacey is being criticized for “hiding under the rainbow” after he came out in the same statement in which he apologized for alleged unwanted sexual advances towards actor Anthony Rapp when Rapp was just 14. . . .
After apologizing for the alleged incident — “if I did behave as he describes, I owe him the sincerest apology for what would have been deeply inappropriate drunken behavior,” Spacey, 58, wrote — the House of Cards star came out as gay.
“This story has encouraged me to address other things about my life,” Spacey’s statement continues. “I know that there are stories out there about me and that some have been fueled by the fact that I have been so protective of my privacy. As those closes to me know, in my life, I have had relationships with both men and women. I have loved and had romantic relationships with men throughout my life, and I choose now to live as a gay man. I want to deal with this honestly and openly and that starts with examining my own behavior.”

Translation: “I was too drunk to remember and, now that I’ve cleared that up, you can applaud my courage for being homosexual.”

The Internet was not buying that story. Not at all.

Gabriel Malor, a gay conservative, was particularly merciless:

The “stereotype for the gay predator” is arguably the worst of it because, if you believe everything you read on the Internet (which I don’t) this wasn’t just a one-time drunken mistake on Spacey’s part. There is, and has been for a long time, much chatter about Spacey’s predatory habits. While it is impossible to know whether any of this chatter is accurate, there are those who say Spacey more or less routinely solicited oral sex from young guys who worked on the House of Cards crew. These were reportedly guys in their 20s and, while it is alleged that many of them were willing to accommodate Spacey’s requests (in his trailer on the set, or in the back of his limo), it’s still a pattern — if this chatter is true, which I cannot verify. ‘Unwanted Sexual Advances’: Harassment Bonfire Torches NBC’s Mark Halperin

The number of his alleged victims is at least seven now:

The morning after five women accused veteran journalist Mark Halperin of sexual harassment while he was in a powerful position at ABC News, two more women came forward with their own allegations.
Those initial five accusers recounted sexual misconduct ranging in nature “from propositioning employees for sex to kissing and grabbing one’s breasts against her will,” CNN reported. “Three of the women who spoke to CNN described Halperin as, without consent, pressing an erection against their bodies while he was clothed.”
Halperin denied some of the allegations listed in Wednesday evening’s story, but added, “I now understand from these accounts that my behavior was inappropriate and caused others pain.”
And then another set of accusers emerged the following day.
“#MeToo,” conservative author and reporter Emily Miller wrote Wednesday night on Twitter, directly responding to the CNN report. . . .
Without specifically describing her encounter with the pundit, Miller elaborated: “I did not report Halperin to ABC because I thought I was the only one, and I blamed myself, and I was embarrassed and I was scared of him.” . . .
Another journalist, who currently appears as a commentator across multiple networks, joined the chorus on Thursday, telling The Daily Beast that the accusations against Halperin rang familiar to her own experience. She said he made unwanted advances at her while they worked together at ABC News more than a decade ago. . . .
According to numerous sources at NBC, MSNBC, ABC, and Bloomberg—who previously spoke to The Daily Beast on the condition of anonymity in order to speak freely—the private allegations of Halperin’s sexual misconduct were an open secret, particularly in New York City and D.C. political media, for many years.
