Biden Was Wrong, Kirby Was Right: Albuquerque Muslim Murders Were Not — NOT — Motivated by ‘Hate’

My brother Kirby has a keen sense of probability. We were sitting outside our local convenience store having coffee on Sunday, when he started ranting about a story out of New Mexico to which I hadn’t paid attention. Four Muslim men had been murdered in the span of a few days, and President Biden (or, at least, whatever White House staffer is running his Twitter account) issued a statement condemning the “hateful attacks.” Kirby expressed doubt that this was some kind anti-Muslim hate crime. Why? All four victims were from the same mosque, Kirby pointed out, and it seemed to him that this was significant. Well, I said, we’ll wait and see. The killer couldn’t possibly get away with this, I said, because of ubiquitous video surveillance, so it probably wouldn’t be long until they announced an arrest. Oh, did you notice how Biden said he “stands strongly with the Muslim community”? Someone should ask him whether he stands with the Shi’ite Muslims or the Sunni Muslims, because Albuquerque police arrested a suspect Tuesday and — call it a hunch — but I don’t think Syed Muhammad is a MAGA-hat wearing Trump voter:

Police said Tuesday that they were investigating whether a string of murders that have shaken Albuquerque was motivated by a Sunni Muslim father’s anger over his daughter marrying a Shiite Muslim.
Muhammad Syed, 51, has been charged with the murders of two Muslim men in New Mexico’s largest city, and faces possible charges for the murders of two other Muslim men killed in the last nine months.
Authorities said in a press release that “the offender knew the victims to some extent, and an interpersonal conflict may have led to the shootings.”
Ahmad Assed, president of the city’s largest mosque, told The New York Times that authorities informed him the shooter is a Sunni Muslim who may have targeted the victims because he was angry over his daughter marrying a Shiite Muslim.
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Albuquerque’s deputy chief, Kyle Hartsock, said police are still investigating the motive behind the slayings, but acknowledged the theory that Syed targeted victims because he was angry over his daughter’s marriage. “We’re not sure if that’s the only motivation,” Hartsock said, adding that they’re “still investigating it.”
The men killed have been identified as Mohammad Ahmadi, 62, Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, 27, Aftab Hussein, 41, and Naeem Hussain, 25.
Syed faces murder charges for the deaths of Aftab Hussein and Muhammad Afzaal Hussain, police said Tuesday, and remains the prime suspect in the other two homicides. A gun traced back to two of the homicide scenes was found during a search of Syed’s home, authorities said. . . .
Syed is the only suspect being investigated as of Tuesday, Hartsock said. Authorities are not labeling him a “serial killer” and said that, at this point, they still do not believe the murders were a hate crime.
Syed is a native of Afghanistan who has lived in New Mexico the “last several years,” Hartsock said. He’s been arrested on domestic violence charges three times in recent years, but all the charges were eventually dropped. . . .
As police connected the four murders to a single shooter, authorities released a photo of a silver sedan they believed was driven by the suspect. On Tuesday, Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina posted to Twitter just before 1 p.m. local time that the car had been found.
“We tracked down the vehicle believed to be involved in a recent murder of a Muslim man in Albuquerque,” Medina wrote. “The driver was detained and he is our primary suspect for the murders.”
Sherry Shafiq, a friend of Afzaal Hussain, told The Daily Beast he was relieved that the alleged killer was caught. Over the past few days, he said, his community was living in fear while a suspect was on the loose. Some Muslim residents stayed home or kept hyper-vigilant of their surroundings.
“It’s heartbreaking news,” Shafiq said. “It’s one of the community members. It was a possibility that had crossed our minds, but never in my wildest dreams would I imagine someone in the community would do such a heinous crime.”

He “can’t imagine” a Muslim committing “such a heinous crime” because vengeance and honor killings are unheard of in the Islamic community.

Somebody should tell Joe Biden he was wrong. Of course, he’s been so wrong about so many things, this isn’t really surprising.

We Were Told This Would Never Happen

Your beliefs, opinions and concerns have been derided as homophobic. But it turns out that facts are also homophobic:

A Georgia couple has been charged with using their two adopted children to record child pornography, police said.
Walton County Sheriff’s Office raided a home in Loganville July 27 on reports that a man there was downloading child porn.
After interviewing the suspect, who was not identified, police said they learned there was another suspect in the county who was “producing homemade child sexual abuse material with at least one child who lived in the home,” the sheriff’s office said Thursday.
Around 11:30 p.m. that same night, executed a search warrant in Oxford at the home of William Dale Zulock, 32, and Zachary Jacoby Zulock, 35.
Walton County’s Division of Family and Child Services joined deputies in responding to the home to help protect the two brothers who lived there.
During their search, deputies found evidence the pair, who were the children’s adoptive fathers, “were engaging in sexually abusive acts and video documenting this abuse,” the sheriff’s office said.
Early the next morning, the Zulocks were both booked at the Walton County Jail.
Both men were charged with aggravated child molestation, sexual exploitation of a child and enticing a child for indecent purposes, WSBTV reported. William Zulock was additionally charged with child molestation.

This reminds me of the infamous Australian case of Peter Truong and Mark Newton, who abused a boy they adopted as an infant:

Police believe the pair had adopted the boy ‘‘for the sole purpose of exploitation’’. The abuse began just days after his birth and over six years the couple travelled the world, offering him up for sex with at least eight men, recording the abuse and uploading the footage to an international syndicate known as the Boy Lovers Network.

Yes, an “international syndicate” of gay pedophiles — two words that journalists never use together in the same sentence, you might have noticed, because gay pedophile describes a category that we are supposed to believe does not exist. The mere fact that someone identifies as homosexual means they cannot be a pedophile, we are expected to believe, because in the media lexicon, “gay” is a synonym for good

Liberals claim to be open-minded, but on close examination, we discover their mental rigidity, their categorical prejudices, and the astonishing lack of balance in their thinking about such issues as this. Having convinced themselves that gay people everywhere are victims of homophobia — hateful bigotry based upon ignorant stereotypes — liberals then mindlessly confine themselves to certain rigid beliefs, which are never subjected to critical examination. Seeing themselves as heroic opponents of “hate,” liberals make negative assumptions about anyone who doesn’t share their enthusiasm for “diversity” and “inclusion.” Disagree with a liberal, and you are automatically judged guilty of “hate” (despite the fact that liberals claim to be against “judgmentalism”).

For the record — it shouldn’t even be necessary to say this, but welcome to 2022 — I do not believe most gay men are pedophiles, and while I’ve seen some studies that suggest that gay men are more likely than straight men to commit such crimes, even such a statistic (if true) wouldn’t change the obvious fact that girls are more likely than boys to be victims of sexual abuse, simply because heterosexual men outnumber gay men at least 19-to-1. This disclaimer, as I say, shouldn’t be necessary, but the point must be emphasized that I have no interest in promoting false stereotypes intended as some kind of broad-brush anti-gay smear.

What I am interested in is balance in journalism, because the liberal media have assumed such a completely unbalanced attitude toward what is nowadays called “the LGBTQ community.” This see-no-evil mentality (e.g., ignoring or downplaying the role of gay orgies in spreading monkeypox) is an example of how identity politics warps American journalism, so that reporters and editors act as volunteer P.R. agents who see their task as guarding the “community” against homophobia. Because the reality of reckless promiscuity among gay men doesn’t advance the 100% positive image of the “community” which liberal journalists are committed to promoting, therefore one cannot expect to find relevant facts because reporters do not even ask the relevant questions: “Just how common is the behavior that led to this monkeypox outbreak? What is the average number of different sex partners annually for gay men ages 18-24,” etc.? That is to say, could we get some quantification — a bit of actual data — on the behavioral patterns involved? Because it is obvious that a certain segment of the “community” is having sex with a lot more partners than almost any heterosexual person ever does. Perhaps a prostitute trafficked in a roadside brothel somewhere is having this many partners, and maybe some professional athletes are getting jiggy with a dozen or more different women a month. However, these are statistical outliers whose behavior hasn’t yet produced the kind of pandemic we are witnessing with gay men and monkeypox. But I digress . . .

The liberal media will now be entirely silent about this gay pedophile scandal, because only by ignoring it can they maintain the politically correct fiction that there is no such thing as a gay pedophile. Did you know, however, that Zachary Jacoby Zulock had an Instagram account — still active, as of noon today — where he described himself in his profile as an “activist,” and proudly posted such photos as these?

At the Atlanta Gay Pride Parade in 2017
The Zulocks on their wedding day
Zachary at the HRC headquarters in 2019

Perhaps you see my point: While the media wishes to pretend that there is no such thing as a gay pedophile — if you are gay, you cannot be a pedophile, and vice-versa — the Zulocks were very proud to identify themselves as part of the “LGBTQ community.” And I consider it my duty to make sure nobody ever forgets about this. Because balance matters.

He’s Not Making This Up, You Know

My podcast partner John Hoge calls attention to this story:

A Baltimore ex-gang member who uses graffiti to designate ‘no shoot zones’ to discourage gun violence around the city was shot in his back, neck and jaw on Wednesday.
‘I was shot three times,’ Tyree Moorehead, 46, told reporters on Wednesday. ‘A bullet went through my jaw, my neck and one is still in my back.’
He is known for creating over 250 ‘no shoot zones’ across Baltimore in places where someone was shot and killed to raise awareness for the issue.
A former gang member himself, Moorehead has admitted to shooting up to 20 people as a teenager before serving 11 years in jail following a shootout with police at age 15.
In a video posted to what appears to be Moorehead’s Instagram page, he said he was shot near Monument Street while going to the store in central Baltimore.
Moorehead apparently made it home after the shooting before police arrived, and the injured 46-year-old can be heard saying to medics ‘I’ve been shot in my neck and my back, I think.’ . . .
Moorehead was then taken to hospital before leaving without being discharged. A video recorded by Fox45 showed him walking down a Baltimore street in hospital scrubs and a blue hair net.
He told a reporter he was ‘good,’ and also said ‘nothing went wrong, you just have someone that’s trying to protect a community that obviously doesn’t want to be protected.’

There may be cities in America that are worse than Baltimore, but it’s a damned short list. Be sure to tune in to The Other Podcast for more.

BOOM! America’s Best Governor Suspends Rogue Tampa Prosecutor

Pushing back against the George Soros machine:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is taking action against woke prosecutors who put themselves above the law, announcing the suspension of State Attorney Andrew Warren.
DeSantis, speaking from Tampa, detailed the growing emergence of woke prosecutors across the country and the frustration it has caused within the law enforcement community. These prosecutors, he explained, are effectively nullifying laws with selective enforcement, allowing crime to run rampant across the country. The governor asked for an examination of such actions in the Sunshine State and said the results pointed to the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit in Hillsborough County with State Attorney Andrew Warren.
DeSantis detailed some of the egregious instances of his disregard for the rule of law — from refusing to enforce any prohibitions on sex change operations for minors, regardless of action from the legislature, to asserting that he would not enforce any laws relating to protecting the right to life in the Sunshine State.
“It’s not for him to put himself above that [the legislature’s action] and say that he is not going to enforce the laws. We don’t elect people in one part of the state to have veto power over what the entire state decides on these important issues,” DeSantis explained.
“The constitution of Florida has vested the veto power in the governor, not an individual state attorneys, and so when you flagrantly violate your oath of office, when you make yourself above the law, you have violated your duty,” the governor said.
“You have neglected your duty and you are displaying a lack of competence to be able to perform those duties and so today, we are suspending State Attorney Andrew Warren,” DeSantis announced, vowing that his administration will not “allow this pathogen that’s been around the country of ignoring the law. We are not going to let that get a foothold here in the state of Florida.”
“We are going to make sure that our laws are enforced and that no individual prosecutor puts himself above the law,” he continued, noting that the states and localities that are doing that — allowing woke prosecutors to get away with refusing to enforce the law — are now dealing with unsafe communities “thanks to prosecutors that think they know better than the people’s representatives, and they get to pick and choose which laws that they’re enforcing.”
The decision to suspend Warren, he added, had “a lot of input around the state.”
“This is something that I think is a very, very important issue across our country that this movement would be allowed to take hold where you basically elevate your own personal conception of quote, ‘social justice’ over what the law requires of you,” he said, blasting these George Soros-backed prosecutors.

Caroline Downey at National Review reports:

The DeSantis administration has argued that the governor has the authority to suspend a state officer under Article IV, Section 7 of the Florida Constitution, according to a press release. Susan Lopez has been appointed as interim State Attorney during the period of the suspension.
By that provision, the governor can suspend from office a county officer for “malfeasance, misfeasance, neglect of duty, drunkenness, incompetence, permanent inability to perform official duties, or commission of a felony, and may fill the office by appointment for the period of suspension.” At any time before removal, the governor may reinstate the suspended officer.
The Florida Senate then must sit in judgment of the merits of a suspension. After hearing the case, for which there is a special process, the Senate may remove from office or reinstate the suspended official.

The local Tampa Bay Times doesn’t like DeSantis, but is compelled to admit crime has skyrocketed since Warren took office in 2016:

Tampa’s violent crime rate has spiked in recent years, with the city in 2021 recording the most murders it had seen since 1994, according to statistics from the Tampa Police Department compiled by the Times editorial board.

The paper also tries to dance around the fact that Soros donated millions to the Florida Democratic Party to help elect Warren.

All Neighborhoods Are Not Created Equal

One of the things that caused the impressive reduction of crime in New York City in the 1990s was CompStat, where data about criminal activity in the city was compiled and analyzed in weekly reports that gave police detailed information about when and where crime was happening. This allowed police to concentrate their efforts on specific areas at the most likely time to apprehend perpetrators. The CompStat approach was subsequently emulated by other law-enforcement agencies, and thereby helped produce a nationwide downward trend in crime that began in the 1990s and continued for about 20 years, until the “Ferguson effect” took hold during Obama’s second term. The important point is that CompStat, along with other technological advances (e.g., widespread video surveillance), made law enforcement more effective in apprehending and prosecuting criminals. This is why liberal complaints about “racial profiling” and “mass incarceration” are so misguided. If there is a rash of street robberies in a particular location, and victims of these crimes are reporting that their attackers are young black males, the cops trying to prevent these crimes can’t do so by scrutinizing elderly Chinese women in some other neighborhood. Investigations will focus on specific locations, and on suspects fitting witness descriptions. Add video to the investigative toolkit, and not only are police better able to identify suspects, but they obtain evidence that makes it much easier to get convictions — the jury can see the crime for themselves.

More effective law enforcement meant more criminals going to prison, and it wasn’t innocent people who were getting locked up. The “social justice” crowd engages in deliberate deception about the factors in so-called “mass incarceration,” and they do so for two reasons: Money and politics. It is little appreciated how many tens of millions of dollars annually are poured into the coffers of “social justice” groups by gigantic tax-exempt foundations. That money goes to hire an army of researchers, writers and publicists who promote these misleading narratives that, in turn, are amplified by Democratic Party politicians and activists trying to win elections. All of these people have incentives to maintain the belief that statistical disparities in crime are the products of “systemic racism” — it’s their job, it’s what pays their bills — and will respond to any pushback by accusing their opponents of racism. Because most journalists are sympathetic to the political objectives of these activists, the public is presented with a distorted picture of crime and law enforcement, particularly as it pertains to the black community.

Manhattan Institute scholar Rafael A. Mangual has produced a new book, Criminal (In)Justice, examining this crucial topic:

The effects of serious violent crime are not evenly distributed. Criminal violence has long been both geographically and demographically hyper-concentrated. In New York, about 3.5 percent of street segments see about 50 percent of the city’s violent crime; and every year for well over a decade, a minimum of 95 percent of shooting victims are either black or Hispanic (the vast majority of them male). Uncomfortable as it may make some people, you’ll see similar disparities in the statistics of shooting suspects. Nationally, black males constitute between 6 and 7 percent of the population but are murdered at a rate ten times that of their white counterparts. And homicides are tightly clustered in a relative handful of neighborhoods in and around American cities. For example, in 2019, the national murder rate was five per 100,000. In the ten most dangerous Chicago neighborhoods, which are 95.7 percent black or Latino, the 2019 homicide rate was a whopping 61.7 per 100,000. As high as that number is, it actually understates how dangerous some of those neighborhoods actually are. West Garfield Park, for example, had a 2019 murder rate of 131 per 100,000.
My book highlights data like these for two reasons. First, a thorough understanding of how violence is (and has long been) concentrated helps us understand exactly who it is that will suffer the most should a particular policy program diminish public safety, and, by extension, who it is that will gain the most should a particular policy program enhance public safety.
Second, the reality of crime concentration can help contextualize some of the disparities in enforcement statistics that we hear so much about — disparities often seized upon to make the cases for mass decarceration and depolicing as a means of pursuing racial equity. If the most serious crimes are occurring in very small slices of our cities, and affecting particular demographic groups more than others, then it is entirely reasonable for enforcement resources to be disproportionately deployed to these areas. Disparities would naturally arise from that uneven distribution of law-enforcement resources. In other words, if we accept as legitimate the decision to police neighborhoods where victimization rates are highest, we must also accept as legitimate that police are going to interact disproportionately with the people spending time in those neighborhoods.
To focus on the disparate rate of interactions in a vacuum is to ignore important context that, when accounted for, undermines the assertion that enforcement disparities are driven exclusively by racial animus. . . .

Feds: Russian Agent Funded Radical Fringe Groups, Including Black Hammer

Remember our friend Augustus Romain Jr. a/k/a “Gazi Kodzo”? Well, his Black Hammer group is one of three organizations identified by federal prosecutors as under Russian influence:

An indictment was unsealed today in Tampa, Florida, charging a Russian national, working on behalf of the Russian government and in conjunction with the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), with allegedly orchestrating a years-long foreign malign influence campaign that used various U.S. political groups to sow discord, spread pro-Russian propaganda, and interfere in elections within the United States.
As alleged in the indictment, from at least December 2014 until March 2022, Aleksandr Viktorovich Ionov, a resident of Moscow, together with at least three Russian officials, engaged in a years-long foreign malign influence campaign targeting the United States. Ionov is the founder and president of the Anti-Globalization Movement of Russia (AGMR), an organization headquartered in Moscow and funded by the Russian government. Ionov utilized AGMR to carry out Russia’s influence campaign.
“Ionov allegedly orchestrated a brazen influence campaign, turning U.S. political groups and U.S. citizens into instruments of the Russian government,” said Assistant Attorney General Matthew G. Olsen of the Justice Department’s National Security Division. “The Department of Justice will not allow Russia to unlawfully sow division and spread misinformation inside the United States.”
According to the indictment, Ionov — working under the supervision of the FSB and with the Russian government’s support — recruited political groups within the United States, including U.S. Political Group 1 in Florida, U.S. Political Group 2 in Georgia, and U.S. Political Group 3 in California, and exercised direction or control over them on behalf of the FSB. Specifically, Ionov provided financial support to these groups, directed them to publish pro-Russian propaganda, coordinated and funded direct action by these groups within the United States intended to further Russian interests, and coordinated coverage of this activity in Russian media outlets. Ionov also relayed detailed information about this influence campaign to three FSB officials.
“Secret foreign government efforts to influence American elections and political groups threaten our democracy by spreading misinformation, distrust and mayhem,” said Assistant Attorney General Kenneth A. Polite, Jr. of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division. “The department is committed to ensuring U.S. laws protecting transparency in the electoral process and the political system are not undermined through foreign malign influence.”

Although none of the groups are named in the DOJ announcement, reporters in Tampa identified the African People’s Socialist Party (APSP, known as the “Uhuru Movement”) as Group 1, while Black Hammer was identified by Atlanta reporters as Group 2, and others have identified the secessionist “Yes California” movement as Group 3. My guess is that after Gazi Kodzo got busted for serious crimes in Atlanta, he rolled over and became a federal informant. Recall that he spent years with the APSP, so Kodzo would have known their secrets, and probably sang like a canary when faced with the prospect of a life sentence in a Georgia prison.

Still More Aspiring Rapper Updates

Javorius Scott, a/k/a “JayDaYoungan”

It’s been a busy week in the hip hop community, as young performers are being gunned down with astonishing frequency:

Louisiana rapper JayDaYoungan was fatally shot in his hometown of Bogalusa, north of New Orleans, police said.
The musician, whose real name is Javorius Scott, was killed Wednesday just after 6 p.m. He was 24.
Police said they received a call about a shooting just before 6 p.m. Wednesday. One of the injured people was brought to Our Lady of the Angels emergency room. Another victim, still on scene, was critically wounded and was transported there by ambulance.
Police were then notified of another shooting shortly after 7 p.m., about 4 miles from the first shooting. Authorities said a car was hit by bullets, but the occupants were not injured, police said.
In a Facebook post, Bogalusa Police confirmed Scott’s death “as a result of his injuries.” The other victim, identified by multiple news outlets as Kenyatta Scott Sr., the rapper’s father, was said to be in stable condition. . . .
Bogalusa Police investigators said they believe the two shootings are linked.
Investigators have connected Scott to crimes involving gang rivalries in parts of rural Louisiana in recent months. They said they believe the violence is retaliatory. An investigation is continuing.
In June 2021, Scott was released from prison after serving seven months on charges of possession of a firearm while under indictment for a crime. In September that year, he was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice and accessory to a second-degree murder that occurred in Louisiana. The next month, he was arrested for multiple felonies, including the illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of minors. . . .
Scott has more than 2.5 million followers on Instagram. His most recent video, “First Day Out Pt2” had amassed 1.9 million views on YouTube.

Do not weep for JayDaYoungan, but instead shed a tear for America’s youth, who have lost an inspiring role model. Meanwhile, in Tampa:

Ari Williams, a/k/a “Rollie Bands”

Five days after up-and-coming rapper Rollie Bands was fatally shot in Tampa, Florida, following a social media post daring critics to confront him, his killer has not yet been arrested.
The 27-year-old performer, real name Ari Williams, was the father of a six-year-old girl. In response to his killing, Williams’ family and friends are calling for justice.
“His daughter deserves that. His mom deserves that. Our family deserves that,” his aunt, Towanda Covington, told local news station WFLA-TV.
Williams was gunned down Friday in the parking lot of his apartment complex, minutes after posting a message on Instagram telling his enemies he was on his way home. “If a ni–a want smoke, I’m at my crib in 5 mins,” he wrote in an Instagram Story.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office released a press release saying Williams likely knew his killer. “At this time, the shooting does not appear random,” the sheriff’s office said.
Williams’ family told WFLA he had a disagreement with someone earlier Friday, before he expressed his frustration on Instagram.
“It doesn’t matter what kind of statement, he didn’t deserve for his life to be taken,” Covington said.
Williams’ friend, Tim Simmons, added that a social media post should not get someone killed.
“He shouldn’t have did that, but he also shouldn’t have died because of that either,” Simmons said.

Let this be a lesson for young aspiring rappers: If you taunt your enemies on Instagram, you’ll be making headlines. Not in a good way.

‘I Think She Was Delusional’

Competition for the 2022 Understatement of the Year Award got a little tougher this week, thanks to Colby James, who was in Dallas Love Field Airport when a crazy woman with a gun got shot by cops:

Dallas police released video Tuesday of the incident involving a woman who fired a gun at Dallas Love Field before an officer shot her.
The woman, wearing a black hoodie, looked to be aiming the weapon in the air late Monday morning before she bought it down and pointed it straight, prompting 15-year Dallas police veteran Ronald Cronin to shoot immediately. . . .
“I’m very proud of him,” Police Chief Eddie Garcia told reporters, referring to the officer. “If it was appropriate, I would have given that officer a medal right here in front of all of you today.”
Before the woman pulled a gun, she told bystanders she had an announcement to make, police said.
The suspect “started to ramble, talking about a marriage, incarceration and that she was going to blow up the airport and then pulls a handgun from her sweatshirt,” Garcia said.
She fired “multiple rounds” into the ceiling at 11:06 a.m. CT before Cronin ordered her to drop her weapon, Garcia said.
That’s when the woman lowered the weapon and pointed it toward Cronin and a bystander, Garcia said. . . .
Garcia praised his officer’s fast work in bringing down the armed woman before anyone else could be harmed.
“The goal is to neutralize a threat. You have to shoot to stop the threat,” Garcia said of the officer, who fired eight or nine rounds, striking the woman multiple times.
The suspect, Portia Odufuwa, 37, underwent surgery and will face charges that include aggravated assault on a public servant, Garcia said.
The suspect claimed that she is married to R&B singer Chris Brown, according to a police affidavit and witness Colby James, 33, a machinist from St. Martinville, Louisiana.
“Her husband was cheating, and her husband was Chris Brown,” James told NBC News. “The singer Chris Brown. I think she was delusional.”

(Really? You think so? What was your first clue?)

Odufuwa has a long criminal record, Garcia said.

(Shocked! Shocked!)

She tried to buy a gun twice at the same pawn shop in August 2016 but was denied each time because of an outstanding traffic warrant out of New Mexico.
The gun used in Monday’s incident is not registered to Odufuwa, and investigators are still trying to determine how she got it.
She was also arrested on April 5, 2019, in connection with an alleged bank robbery in Wylie, and she was taken into custody again on Oct. 4 of that year in connection with an allegation of arson in Mesquite, police said.
Police have not disclosed a possible motive for Monday’s shooting; mental health played a role in her long arrest record. The suspect was detained on Sept. 28, 2020, at Love Field for a mental health evaluation, Garcia said.
Court records showed that a judge last year found her incompetent to stand trial after she was charged with making a false report. However, she wasn’t found to be a danger to others, and she was sent to outpatient mental health services.
And in the 2019 bank robbery case, she was found incompetent to stand trial. The case was dismissed after she underwent treatment, court records showed.

So twice in two years, she was found to be non compos mentis — so crazy she couldn’t be put on trial — and yet was turned loose on the streets:

As recently as last summer a Dallas County judge found the woman accused of opening fire inside a terminal at Dallas’ Love Field airport was not a danger to others, Dallas County records show. . . .
Dallas County Judge Kristin Wade found Odufuwa incompetent to stand trial in misdemeanor case in June 2021 and referred her to outpatient mental health services. . . .
Court records show she has previously faced charges including arson, robbery, criminal trespass and false reporting — all filed in cities across North Texas over the past several years. The outcomes of some cases were unclear Monday though several were dismissed. Court records show she has previously told police she is married to celebrity Chris Brown and that she is “God’s prophet.” . . .
In the case where Odufuwa is accused of pulling the fire alarm, Mesquite police said Monday she was arrested April 25, 2021.
Police said Odufuwa was staying at a hotel in the 4000 block of Towne Crossing, and was refused an extension to her stay. Odufuwa became upset and pulled the fire alarm in front of the clerk, police said.
In that case, Odufuwa gave the address for Brown’s mansion as her home.
That filing a false report case was dismissed by Wade, the judge, in November 2021 even though Odufuwa “did not did not successfully complete the program” when she was found incompetent to stand trial, according to Dallas County court records. She was expected to continue mental health services elsewhere. . . .
On Oct. 4, 2019, about 7:50 p.m., officers were sent to the 900 block of Bridgewater Lane, near Valleycreek Road because a house was on fire.
Odufuwa was standing outside, watching it burn, and requested to speak with a police officer. She told the officer she was “responsible for the fire,” according to an arrest-warrant affidavit.
The officer asked her if she started the fire intentionally, and she said “yes,” the affidavit said. When the officer asked why, the affidavit said she responded “I am God’s prophet, and I need an attorney, but I’m basically letting you all know that I am the cause of this fire.” . . .
Odufuwa was also accused of robbing a bank in Wylie on April 5, 2019.
Wylie police said Odufuwa entered the Bank of America in the 1300 block of West FM544 and displayed a note demanding an undisclosed amount of money. Customers were moved to a safe location, and responding officers found Odufuwa nearby as she tried to flee, police said at the time.
She was found incompetent to stand trial and underwent both in-patient and out-patient treatment. The case was eventually dismissed, court records show. It was not clear Monday why she was found incompetent.

“It was not clear”? Could it possibly be any clearer? This woman is deranged, demented, daffy, wacky, cracked, zany, berserk, off her rocker, a few fries short of a Happy Meal and cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.

Is there any money in the federal budget for building more lunatic asylums? Because it seems to me that we’ve got way too many of these kooks running around causing mayhem, when they obviously need to be locked up somewhere they can do the Haldol shuffle without disturbing the public with their madcap delusions and occasional violent outbursts. We’re shipping billions of dollars to Ukraine when we could be using that money to build mental institutions to protect our society from roaming psychotics: Crazy People Are Dangerous.
