Get Up And Fight

Silicon Valley delenda est.

I’m not quite to Ace levels of rage yet, but I’m becoming increasingly pissed off at the defeatist moaners who think the Democrats have pulled off their October Revolution and it’s all over. “The Uniparty has won,” they whine. “There’s nothing we can do.” Yes, we should all sit quietly in our houses, waiting for the blue-caps to come along and haul us off to the Alaskan death camps for being associated with friends of the supporters of the badthinking White Supremacist RAAAAACIST homophobic Bad Orange Man.

FUCK. THAT. SHIT.

All the horrible things the Democrats want to do are definitely going to happen if you sit at home and moan about what a useless bunch of sellouts the Republicans are, or if you go off trying to make the Libertarians or the Populists a thing. The LP is not going to happen. They’ve been around all my life and all they’ve managed to accomplish is…nothing. The best-known, most successful libertarians have been Republicans like Ron Paul and his son Rand. As Colonel Schlichter points out, the infrastructure of the GOP is sitting right there waiting for Trump’s supporters to take over and use it to support America First candidates. There are a ton of local party organizations dying for lack of volunteers – and I don’t mean the worthless fucks who show up for the party caucuses and then vanish for the next four years. Get involved. Find your local GOP party organization, become a precinct officer and/or delegate, and get to work. Get your friends involved too. The more of you that are involved, the more impact you’re going to have and the more you can get done. It’s not that damn hard. If some autistic kid from 4chan can do it, you can too.
If there is no active local GOP party organization? Find your county or state party org and start building one. Uncle Bob produced a how-to guide for building your own political machine back when he was a Democrat, and while some of it is dated, the basics are still sound.

Too old/sick/overworked to help rebuild the GOP to be an America First party? Stop contributing to the national party organizations. Do your homework and find local candidates who support the MAGA agenda, or who at least are opposed to the left-wing Democrat Party crazy. Not One Red Cent was a good idea in the Tea Party days, and it’s an even better one now. Speaking of the Tea Party, don’t send money to PACs claiming to support the MAGA agenda. This is one of the things that killed the Tea Party movement – a bunch of grifters latching onto it and draining off vital cash & volunteers to support themselves. Support state and county party orgs and candidates instead. Talk to people. Get them active.

One of the big reasons for concentrating on the state and local GOP organizations, especially if you live in Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania, & Wisconsin, is to make sure the legislatures and state offices are firmly in the grasp of the GOP so that the kind of crap that was pulled last fall doesn’t happen again. Push your local state reps and senators on voting security, and if they show indications of being squishy on the issue, follow Don Surber’s advice – primary them and purge them. We have to root out the RINOs from the party at all levels, or we’re going to continue getting screwed by the likes of Liz Cheney, Ben Sasse, Nikki Haley, whose loyalties are to the traitors at the Chamber of Commerce first and us somewhere in 10,000th place. Hang their donations from corporate PACs around their necks and beat them on the ground – because as we all should know by now, money alone doesn’t win elections, and all of these people need to relearn that lesson. Especially the Murder Turtle.

Now get up and fight.

Impeachment 2.0 Farce Is Over

The Democrats spent the past week staging a Stalinist show trial in the Senate, which came to a predictable end today, when they failed to get the necessary two-thirds majority for conviction. Our President — you know, the guy who actually won the election — issued this statement:

This has been yet another phase of the greatest witch hunt in the history of our Country. No president has ever gone through anything like it, and it continues because our opponents cannot forget the almost 75 million people, the highest number ever for a sitting president, who voted for us just a few months ago.
I also want to convey my gratitude to the millions of decent, hardworking, law-abiding, God-and-Country loving citizens who have bravely supported these important principles in these very difficult and challenging times.
Our historic, patriotic and beautiful movement to Make America Great Again has only just begun. In the months ahead I have much to share with you, and I look forward to continuing our incredible journey together to achieve American greatness for all of our people. There has never been anything like it!
We have so much work ahead of us, and soon we will emerge with a vision for a bright, radiant, and limitless American future.
Together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
We remain one People, one family, one glorious nation under God, and it’s our responsibility to preserve this magnificent inheritance for our children and for generations of Americans to come.
May God bless all of you, and may God forever bless the United States of America.

Here is a fact that should not be forgotten: 61% of Republicans believe the 2020 election was stolen, and a majority of Americans don’t believe anyone should be punished for saying they believe it was stolen. What Democrats were doing in this impeachment was an attempt to criminalize dissent, to make it a “high crime and misdemeanor” for President Trump to say what most Republicans believe. If it’s “inciting insurrection” to say Democrats stole the election for Biden, then they’re going to have to put a lot of us in prison. And they might as well start with me.

To Say the Least . . .

House impeaches Trump a second time,
but conviction and removal are unlikely

As a symbolic gesture, what does this symbolize? The absolute contempt that Democrats have for the 74 million Americans who voted for Trump.

Having discovered that, with the help of mail-in vote fraud and Big Tech censorship, they can steal any election anywhere, Democrats have no fear that the “deplorables” could ever regain power. Thus the totalitarian regime, able to cruse its enemies with impunity, simply does not care about the potential of a backlash — dissent is now treason, and resistance is illegal. No matter how “unlikely” Trump could be removed from office between now and next Wednesday (it’s so unlikely as to be almost impossible, but we cannot rule anything out, in this climate of hysteria), this vote with 10 “Republicans” voting yes, is important for its symbolic value. Glenn Reynolds observes: “They were talking about impeaching him before he was even sworn in, which tells you a lot about the seriousness of this stuff.” Democrats never accepted the results of the 2016 election as legitimate, yet anyone who today questions the outcome of the 2020 election is condemned as an Enemy of Democracy.

No, Trump Did Not Incite Violence

Twitter banned President Trump last night, “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” Note the word “further,” an implied assertion that on some previous occasion, Trump incited violence.

If you have watched CNN or MSNBC the past few days, you know that this assertion has been repeated as a certainty multiple times every hour, 24/7, ever since the mob stormed the Capitol, as if there were no doubt that (A) the President’s speech caused (B) the subsequent riot.

This is the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy as “journalism.”

Ann Althouse — who, I remind you, is a professor of law at the University of Wisconsin — took the time to read the transcript of Trump’s hour-long speech Wednesday and found no such incitement. It simply never happened, no matter how often the media say it happened.

“It’s like they had the narrative ready to go regardless of the facts,” says Glenn Reynolds, professor of law at the University of Tennessee.

Do you think that maybe these law professors know something that the talking heads on CNN don’t know? The evident assumption by the anti-Trump media is that anything Trump says is bad and wrong, and that anytime something bad happens, Trump is to blame. But there were some 200,000 people in D.C. for the “Stop the Steal” rally, and only a small percentage of that crowd — perhaps 2,000 people — were involved in breaching the Capitol. If everybody heard the president’s “incitement,” why didn’t everyone storm the Capitol? Of course, you can’t expect million-dollar TV news anchors to be capable of logical deduction, but wouldn’t you think that someone in the media would become tired of the stench of bovine excrement exuded by their fact-deficient “reporting”?

Articles Mentioning Benford’s Law Are Reportedly Banned on Facebook

Benford’s Law is a principle of statistics relating to the frequency with which various digits occur in random samples. It has been used in accounting as a means of detecting fraudulent bookkeeping, because people will enter fake numbers in a non-random pattern. Benford’s Law has also been used to detect vote fraud, where false tallies in precincts will follow the same principle. An article at the site GNews alleges that Benford’s Law proves cheating occurred in urban areas that went heavily for Biden. Is this true? I don’t know.

There are several reasons to suspect shenanigans in this election, but you’re supposedly a fringe kook for noticing anomalies, and social media sites are reportedly censoring mention of Benford’s Law.

The president is not going to quit without a fight:

President Trump is planning to hold campaign-style rallies at which he will reveal obituaries of Americans who supposedly voted in the 2020 presidential election despite being deceased, a campaign official confirms to The Post.
The group of rallies, first reported Sunday by Axios, will be focused on highlighting the Trump campaign’s legal effort to win back a lost election by highlighting specific examples of voter fraud.
The obituaries specifically are meant to act as evidence that President-elect Biden won the election by what the Trump team has repeatedly referred to as “illegal” votes.
While specific locations and dates have not yet been announced, the Trump team is focusing their efforts on the must-win swing states: Georgia, Arizona and Pennsylvania, although other states could be included, a campaign official told the Post. . . .
On Sunday, Trump’s personal lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, said he intends to file up to 10 lawsuits alleging election fraud.
Speaking to Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures,” the former NYC mayor argued that, “At this point, it would be wrong for him to concede.”
“There is strong evidence that this was an election that in at least three or four states, and possible 10, it was stolen. In other words, it was based on false votes. Now, you can’t let an election go into history without challenging that,” he continued.

Byron York notes that the media people who now tell us it is wrong to challenge election results are the same ones who spent four years telling us that Russian “meddling” rendered the 2016 election invalid.

TRUMP WINS! TRUMP WINS!

UPDATE 11:10 p.m. ET: I’m calling it for Trump. He’s won Florida and Georgia. North Carolina is looking like a win. He’s leading in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Michigan — MICHIGAN! — Trump now leads by double-digits. We are in Red Wave territory, folks.

* * * * *

My partner John Hoge and I will be podcasting tonight and you can click here to listen (you’ll need to download the Podbeam app).

What’s going to happen? Well, here’s a clue: I went to vote about 5 p.m. I live in a county that went for Trump in 2016 by a 30-point margin (62%-32%), and the polling place is in the reddest, most rural part of the county. The line stretched around the parking lot and the wait was an hour and 45 minutes. This lady was one of those standing in line:

So if it’s going to take a stampede of rural voters for Trump to win, maybe the “Red Wave” will actually happen. We shall see.

UPDATE 6:55 p.m. ET: Ace notes that exit polls look good for Trump.

On the side of pessimism, however, if Democrats voted early by mail, then they would be underrepresented in exit polls.

UPDATE 8:00 p.m. ET: Miami is killing liberal dreams:

UPDATE 10 p.m. ET: We’ve finished three hours of podcasting and now you can click here for ANOTHER three hours. Oh, my God, it looks like Trump is pulling off another miracle upset.

EXPECT FURTHER UPDATES . . .

Election Eve Prediction Time

Don’t know who created that meme, I just saw it on Twitter. Election Day is tomorrow, and the time for making predictions is running out. Also, I’m running past deadline on a 2,500-word piece for the print edition of The American Spectator, in which I evaluate the prospects of a post-election civil war. (Spoiler: I’m against it.)

The RCP average of national polls today has Biden by nearly 7 points, with The Hill (Biden +4) and Rasmussen (Biden +3) on the low end and NBC (Biden +10) and The Economist (Biden +11) on the high end. Obviously these are not encouraging numbers for Trump supporters.

Strangely enough, Trump supporters are undaunted by the poll numbers. Yesterday, the President held five — count ’em, five — gigantic rallies, including one in my old stomping grounds of Rome, Georgia. Actually, while the address of Richard B. Russell Airport is technically in Rome, it’s much closer to Armuchee, but that’s a detail I don’t expect journalists to notice. And never mind how you pronounce “Armuchee.”

Trump campaigned last night in my old stomping grounds of Rome, Georgia. What I can't figure out is how they landed Air Force One at that airport. It's a 747. Did they expand the runway?

Posted by Robert Stacy McCain on Monday, November 2, 2020

Here’s the question: Does it really matter? No, I’m not talking about how you pronounce “Armuchee,” I’m talking about the campaign rallies. We are told that Joe Biden, who scarcely leaves his basement and can’t draw any kind of crowd, is nonetheless leading by a landslide margin. If that is true, then all the ordinary business of on-the-ground campaigning — from yard signs to rallies to door-to-door canvassing — is obsolete. All that matters in politics now is media and the Internet.

Or so we are supposed to believe. There is a wide gap of cognitive dissonance surrounding this campaign, and I don’t profess to know what explains this gap. Nor do I consider myself qualified to make any predictions about how it’s going to turn out. Have at it yourself.

UPDATE: One of the the shabby hustles that the media engage in is what can be called Contingent Prediction, which is not an actual prediction, but rather involves an “if . . . then” sort of rhetoric. Here is a classic example of the phenomenon:

These counties “could” prove decisive in the election, the New York Times informs us, before proceeding on that basis to engage in a lot of blather enhanced by authoritative-looking graphics. This is an illusion of expertise, because if Biden is really heading to a landslide — as all the polls tell us — then these allegedly crucial counties won’t really mean much in the grand scheme of things. Go back to 2016 and watch all the TV pundits pointing at their “interactive” maps in the first couple of hours of coverage, before it became evident that something was drastically wrong with all the pre-election poll numbers.

It is only in hindsight that anyone can understand what happens in elections, and most people still don’t really understand even then.
