One Month After Prison Release, Sex Offender Raped Girl, 13, Police Say

In 2010, when he was 19, Bert McDaniel Jones was convicted of having sex with a 14-year-old girl and put on probation with orders to register as a sex offender. When he failed to comply with terms of his probation, the judge sentenced Jones to prison. He got out of prison Jan. 5, but was arrested today after police say Jones raped a 13-year-old he met online while posing as a teenager:

Police began investigating the 13-year-old’s claims last week. The girl told police that a person she knew as Daniel Jones, 17, held her down and raped her.
Detectives searched every database available to them trying to locate Jones, but came up empty handed. Police said Friday that investigators discovered the person the girl knew as Daniel Jones was actually Bert McDaniel Jones. . . .
Slidell police said Jones was arrested in the forcible rape case Friday without incident. He is being held in the Slidell city jail and eventually will be transported to the St. Tammany Parish jail.
Police believe Jones was preying on young females through social media and through a local youth church group. They are continuing to investigate.

Why isn’t this creep being featured on ABC’s 20/20? Why is Kaitlyn Hunt a celebrity sex offender, but not Bert McDaniel Jones?

More Arizona Sex Freaks in the News

After we recounted the case of allegedly incestuous Tucson teacher Christine Mazzarella — “Yeesh,” says Dan Riehl — one of our commenters pointed out that there have been several other strange sex-crime cases in Arizona lately. In case you’ve forgotten, sociopath “Dr. Essay Anne Vanderbilt” (neé Stephen Krol) chose Gilbert, Arizona, as the scene of her final fraud, so it could be that the state is becoming a sort of weirdo-magnet, like Florida. Anyway, here are a couple of recent bizarre stories from Arizona:

Double trouble for Rudy Torres, 24, and Juan Sahagun, 21. Police say the two suspects didn’t know each other, but they had something in common: Both of them were having sex with the same underage girl. They met her via the Internet and apparently the two-timing Tucson teen temptress liked Juan better, because he was charged with seven counts, while Rudy was only charged with four.

While the Latino lotharios were getting lessons in the meaning of the word “jailbait,” a teenage boy was learning the word “cougar”:

Pinal County Sheriff’s officials say 34-year-old Keri Gonzalez was arrested after she jumped out a second-story window when the mother of a 15-year-old boy found Gonzalez naked in her son’s bedroom.

Gonzalez, who broke her ankle in her bid for escape, was arrested on a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor and “also is being held on suspicion of providing false information to a peace officer.” The boy’s mother “told authorities that she had previously warned Gonzalez to stay away from her son.”

Allegedly — did I forget to include the word “allegedly”? Because the alleged boy-banging window-jumper says she is not guilty:

An Arizona woman accused of jumping out of a window naked after having sex with a 15-year-old boy says the allegations are untrue.
“That’s not what I am at all,” Keri Gonzalez, 34, told Fox 10. . . .
Gonzalez told Fox 10 . . .  her own son went to the teen’s home to see a girl who also lived there. Once there, she says:

“We were talking and hanging out and one of the guys that was around 18 was pushing me onto the 15-year-old and continued to do it over 10 times and I was just trying to get my keys from them and leave. I said I had a headache and they gave me something and then I started feeling really weird and dizzy and they were like, you can come lay down and so they showed me up to a room.. woke up to banging and screaming at the door and it was the boy’s mom and when I woke up, I didn’t have pants on and while he was talking to her, I jumped out the two story window because I didn’t even know what was going on in my mind at the time. If I was in my right mind, I wouldn’t have jumped out the window.”

Uh . . . yeah, whatever you say, Keri.

Lots of innocent people just start “hanging out” and then wake up naked in a teenager’s room. Although I am not a lawyer, my advice would be, if the prosecutor offers a plea bargain, take the deal.

Police: Arizona Teacher Had Sex on ‘Multiple Occasions’ With Her Son, 13

A Tucson TV station has now edited its story to remove references to the fact that Christine Mazzarella’s alleged 13-year-old victim is her own son, but other news outlets have been less discreet:

A Tucson, Ariz., special education teacher faces sexual misconduct charges after police said she had a relationship with her own son.
Christine Mazzarella, 47, was booked this week in Pima County jail on four counts related to having sex with minor. Police told Tucson News Now that Mazzarella had sexual relations with her son on multiple occasions last July.
Mazzarella teaches at Lineweaver Elementary school in Tucson. Investigators do not believe she had inappropriate conduct with students at the school, according to the Arizona Daily Star.

We are therefore to believe that Christine Mazzarella, to whom school administrators have entrusted the care of children for years, never once breached that professional trust by any inappropriate act. However, we are told, shortly after her own son reached puberty, Mazzarella found him sexually irresistible?

Such a tale strains credulity, but weirder things have happened — pagan lesbian child brides and such — so if the allegations are true, the explanation should be mind-boggling. Maybe we will be told that Mazzarella has an alcohol problem and mental health issues, so being an incestuous pervert isn’t so bad, because she’s a crazy drunk.

And also, a trained professional educator.

And I’m a Russian Wolfhound

Just call me Borzoi. And I know what you’re thinking: “Borzoi? But you don’t look anything like a Russian wolfhound! As a matter of fact, on closer inspection, you seem to be a golden retriever.”

Haters.

Yes, I am aware that those documents from the American Kennel Club — a notorious group of hatemongering breedists —  identify me as a so-called “pure bred” golden retriever, but in my heart, ever since I was a little puppy, I always knew I was different.

Finally, after years of struggle against oppression, I found the courage to be the dog I really was, and “came out” as a Russian wolfhound.

My brave struggle has continued and, while I know how much you admire my courageous trans-breed activism, it’s important that you not offend me like Piers Morgan offended Janet Mock:

There were several problems with the language Morgan used. For starters, he repeatedly asserted that Mock had formerly been a boy. He also said that Mock had surgery to become a woman. Mock was a woman long before she had the surgery she felt she needed to reflect that. Part of the fight for transgender rights and justice is a fight for self-determination: to be able to proclaim who you are without anyone else adding caveats.

Sure, I know what you’re thinking: “What’s wrong with stating a simple fact? Janet Mock was, indeed, born as a boy named Charles with XY chromosomes and Charles did, in fact, undergo surgery to remove his testicles and rearrange his genitalia to create a simulacrum of a vagina. Actually, the whole point of Janet Mock’s celebrity activism — the book contract, the TV interviews — is the experience of having undergone this transition process. Why, then, is Piers Morgan a transphobic bigot for making reference to these facts?”

You don’t understand. You’ll never understand our struggle for acceptance, our fight against discrimination and bigotry. While you can’t possibly understand, you are permitted to admire us for our heroic courage — but only in language we approve.

Janet Mock is a woman. And I’m a Russian wolfhound.

Why Keep Feeding the Gay-Rights Tiger, Hoping to Be Eaten Last?

One of the things we must understand about the Left is the essentially totalitarian nature of their ambitions. There is no logical stopping point on the progressive road to the Utopia of Equality that they insist is always ahead of us, a destination never reached.

Grant all their demands today, and they will return tomorrow with a new list of demands. What do they want? More, always more.

Yesterday, a federal judge struck down Virginia’s state constitutional amendment prohibiting same-sex marriage, because obviously (a) the Fourteenth Amendment was intended for such a purpose, and (b) never mind the will of voters expressed in a referendum.

The ruling cites memorable Supreme  Court travesties — Planned Parenthood v. Casey, Lawrence v. Texas and Windsor v. U.S. — like so many mileposts on the Highway to Hell, and who can argue with such sophistry when it’s dressed up in costumes of legal precedent, bejeweled with a lot of emotional chatter about “loving, intimate and lasting relationships” and “sacred, personal choices”?

Translation: “Damn the Constitution, we’re not in Utopia yet.”

Meanwhile, in Kansas, the state House of Representatives approved a bill intended to impede the March Toward Utopia in the name of “religious liberty,” inspiring  an eruption of hyperbole about “vicious discrimination” and “anti-gay segregation.”

“Willkommen, Herr Chamberlain. Welcome to Munich. Today you will cede the Sudetenland. Tomorrow, we’ll demand the world.”

Professor Dee Graham: The Psychologist Who Drove Feminists Crazy

Remember the radfem blogger who says all heterosexual intercourse (PIV, penis-in-vagina) is rape? Sure you do.

Well, it turns out that her insane theories are secondhand madness, as it were, and one of her main sources of lunacy is a book published 20 years ago by a trio of feminists, the lead author being Dee Graham, a professor of psychology at the University of Cincinnati.

How I discovered this: Wednesday, on a hunch, I rooted around in my bookshelves and found Daphne Patai’s 1998 book Heterophobia: Sexual Harassment and the Future of Feminism. As I say, this was a hunch — hey, if radical feminists are declaring that heterosexuality is a myth and that all women are naturally lesbians, a book called Heterophobia might offer some clues. (Who says men aren’t intuitive, huh?) So, after briefly quoting Patai in a post Thursday, I continued reading and came across this on Page 174:

Dee Graham . . . claims to be able to explain the very existence of heterosexuality in women by invoking what she calls the “Societal Stockholm Syndrome.” In a 1994 book entitled Loving to Survive, Graham expounds her theory in minute detail. As in the famous Stockholm bank-hostage episode in 1973, in which four hostages bonded with their captors and came to see the police as their common enemy, women — so the argument goes — are eternally held hostage  to men. . . . The point of all male behavior is domination . . . Heterosexual behavior thus becomes a “survival strategy” for women, as do “feminine” characteristics, which result from women’s need to ingratiate themselves with their “captors.” . . .
Graham’s thesis makes it impossible to distinguish in a meaningful way between situations of genuine abuse and the ordinary life of heterosexual women. And that is precisely the point. Men are women’s captors. Women are men’s hostages. Heterosexuality is the form of their subjugation.

Bizarre as it may seem, Graham’s theory has been widely embraced by feminists, and is cited by the radfem at Radical Wind:

In other words, the strategy is to program us to respond to men’s violence through dissociation and trauma-bonding, and cloak/rename these responses as “love” or “attraction” to men — so on the top of it they make us believe we want it.
Let’s recall what trauma-bonding is: if we look at Dee Graham’s work (p.4,Loving to Survive), for a woman to trauma-bond to a man:

  1. she must perceive her captor — the man — as having powers of life and death over her
  2. she must believe that she cannot escape, and that therefore her life depends on her captor
  3. she must be isolated from outsiders so that his perspective is the only perspective available
  4. she must feel as if her captor — the man — showed her some kindness or attention.

This situation of captor-to-hostage is the situation of all women to all men. (This is also the point that D.G. makes in her book). That is, all men hold all women captive. All women are prisoners and hostages to men’s world. Men’s world is like a vast prison or concentration camp for women. This isn’t a metaphor, it’s reality. Each man is a threat. We can’t escape men. We are forced to depend on men and male infrastructures for our survival. Men’s perspective (and men’s language that names their perspective) is the only perspective available and we are isolated from other women and woman-centered perspectives.

And the radfem blogger concludes:

[H]eterosexuality doesn’t exist and our “urges” to bond with [men] emotionally or sexually aren’t natural drives but normal PTSD reactions to years of abuse and mind-programming.

There you have it, ladies and gentlemen: Lesbian separatism as the only alternative to being captive to male violence — “Each man is a threat”! — an idea directly derived from a single book published 20 years ago that you probably never heard of, but which has been far more influential than anything published by Graham’s critics.

This intellectual theory is so easily refuted by common sense that it almost seems a waste of time to do so.

Two words: Voluntary cooperation.

For the vast majority of human history, and still for many millions of people today, simply surviving required voluntary cooperation between members of families, tribes and communities. My own grandparents, Alabama farmers, had to work sun-up to sundown six days a week merely to have the basics of life. It is only under conditions of widespread affluence that anyone would have the inclination — or the luxury of spare time — to look at male-female relationships and accuse men of exercising domination through violence against women, or to imagine that the pair-bonding of husbands and wives was the result of “PTSD reactions to years of abuse and mind-programming.”

To quote Orwell: “One has to belong to the intelligentsia to believe things like that: no ordinary man could be such a fool.”

‘If It Was a Rape, It Was Good Rape’

Everybody laughed at the RadFem who said “PIV is always rape, OK?” But no matter how absurd feminist arguments seem to sane people, our laughter does not change the fact that radical lesbian baby-killers take their man-hating Marxist ideology quite seriously.

Despite her weird resemblance to Dustin Hoffman, women’s studies professor Bettina Aptheker was not joking when she said lesbianism is “the highest state of feminism.” On the one hand, caustic sarcasm is an entirely appropriate response to the Lunatic Lesbian Liberation Movement, but on the other hand, the lunatics are actually “winning” the argument, because normal people are afraid of being called sexist homophobes if they tell the truth about what radical feminism really is.

The consequences of this cowardice are evident everywhere:

At least 10 Catholic colleges and universities will be hosting productions of The Vagina Monologues or have officially recognized student groups that are performing the play in 2014, The Cardinal Newman Society has learned. Many of the institutions with connections to the play in 2014 have reportedly hosted the play in past years, and students from at least one institution are advertising 15 years of performances.
The Monologues seriously distorts human sexuality and celebrates sinful behaviors, including lesbian activity and masturbation. One scene even declares a lesbian rape of a teenage girl her “salvation” which raised her into “a kind of heaven.” The play’s production on Catholic campuses has been criticized by several bishops.

If lesbian rape is feminist “salvation,” women who have sex with teenage girls must be the Blessed Saints of Radical Feminism.

It’s easy to joke about this, as I say, but what do we expect women to do when feminist academics and activists tell them that lesbianism is the only way to escape male oppression? Those who rallied to the defense of Kaitlyn Hunt argued that enforcing age-of-consent laws is homophobic if the accused offender is gay. (ABC will feature “Free Kate” again on 20/20 Friday.) And in case you haven’t noticed, there have been several recent cases where older lesbians decided to “liberate” pubescent minors from oppressive patriarchal heteronormativity:

  • Arizona physical education teacher Nicole Wooten was arrested last February on charges that she had sex with a girl in 2005 and 2006, when the victim was a 12-year-old eighth-grader.
  • Texas music teacher Linda Wallace was sentenced to prison in September after pleading guilty to having had a four-year sexual affair with a female student that began when the girl was 13.
  • South Dakota teacher Tonya Drueppel was arrested in January on charges that she had sex with a middle-school girl beginning in October 2012, when the victim was 13.

In the most high-profile recent case, California teacher Andrea Cardosa, 40, was arrested after a 28-year-old woman said her former basketball coach began molesting her when she was 12. “You ruined my childhood,” the former student, Jamie Carillo, said in a telephone confrontation with Cardosa that went viral on YouTube. Carillo later told KTLA-TV how the molestation began: “She was kissing me, and then it turned into putting her hands down my pants. … She just completely manipulated me into thinking that I needed her and I wanted it.”

Gee, where do people get these ideas?

Such is the logic of radical feminism: All men are complicit in this system of violence they call the patriarchy. All women are victims of patriarchal oppression, and therefore heterosexual intercourse is always rape. Women who think they like having sex with men are actually victims of “brainwashing and mind-control” by men who “deliberately manipulate our responses to increase their control over us,” Radical Wind explains.
This is why feminists have made Valentine’s Day an annual occasion for the performance of Eve Ensler’s play “The Vagina Monologues” on university campuses. One of the most controversial scenes in Ensler’s original play involved a 13-year-old girl experiencing “a kind of heaven” after being sexually molested by an older lesbian: “If it was rape, it was a good rape.” That line was subsequently excised from the script and the girl’s age changed to 16, but the fundamental point of the scene remains: Lesbian sex is never wrong, and introducing young girls to lesbianism is a good thing. . . .

How to Hate Commies

If American conservatism has a future, that future is going to look a lot like Gabby Hoffman. What is striking about Gabby is that, unlike some other young conservatives I have met, she shows a deep appreciation of conservatism’s history, especially its development in the context of the Cold War. While it is true that American conservatism has a long and respectable intellectual pedigree — as Russell Kirk demonstrated in The Conservative Mind — it was only in the post-World War II environment that this philosophy emerged as a fighting creed to challenge the liberal hegemony that had dominated our culture since the Progressive Era of the early 20th century. While it took many hands to build the movement that eventually elected Ronald Reagan president, three books are generally credited with inspiring the movement and providing it with a sense of philosophical coherence:

Weaver’s book remains a classic, but it is perhaps impossible for anyone who was not alive at the time to imagine what a publishing sensation Hayek and Buckley’s books created. The Road to Serfdom was republished in a condensed version by the Reader’s Digest and went through multiple editions. It gained immediate attention as an important work, and the same was true of God and Man at Yale. Young conservatives who think of Buckley as an imminently respectable intellectual have no idea what kind of hateful denunciations were heaped upon him after he boldly exposed the leftward drift in elite academia. Some two decades after FDR’s triumphal election, liberals simply were not used to being addressed in such a tone of confident disagreement, and Buckley was personally demonized for it.

All of three of these books were published at a time when armed confrontation with totalitarian power was the great crisis facing the American political order, creating a sensibility of existential threat that is absent in much conservative discourse today.

In the quarter-century since the fall of the Berlin Wall, it seems, many young conservatives have forgotten — or perhaps it is more accurate to say they never learned — what it was that originally inspired the modern conservative movement. The dread of dictatorship and the menace of totalitarian ideology was easier to understand for those of us who grew up under the shadow the Evil Empire, with the threat of thermonuclear annihilation constantly in our minds. Because her parents grew up inside the nightmare of Stalin’s conquests, immigrating from Soviet Lithuania to the United States, Gabby Hoffman gets it in a way that many other young people don’t really get it anymore:

Millions tuned to NBC last Friday night to watch the opening ceremony of the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Despite subpar construction, dingy hotel conditions, and athletes trapped in bathrooms, the Sochi spectacle was masterfully executed — except for the Olympic ring that didn’t budge and the glorification of Soviet symbols.
To anyone with family members that escaped the Soviet Union — including yours truly — the opening ceremony brought back terrible memories of the Old Country.
The opening montage began with, “Russia overwhelms. Russia mystifies. Russia transcends. Through every stage of its story, it’s resisted any notion of limitation. Through every re-invention, only redoubling its desire to cast a towering presence.”
The narrator — Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage — continued by saying, “The empire that ascended to affirm a colossal footprint; the revolution that birthed one of modern history’s pivotal experiments. But if politics has long shaped our sense of who they are, it’s passion that endures…”
What’s so “pivotal” about centrally-planned government, food rationing, prison labor camps, a secret police, and millions of deaths? . . . .
