Pro-Pedophile Author: ‘How Dare You Call Me a Pro-Pedophile Author?!’

James Kincaid is a University of Southern California professor emeritus who is the author of Child-Loving: The Erotic Child and Victorian Culture (1992) and Erotic Innocence: The Culture of Child Molesting (1998). When it was announced he would speak  in Toronto at an academic conference with the creepy title “Bodies at Play: Sexuality, Childhood and Classroom Life,” an understandable outrage erupted:

Dr. Charles McVety of the Institute for Canadian Values has written an open letter to Chris Alexander, the Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Canada, asking that Kincaid be denied entry into the country. . . .
“On behalf of the 125,000 members of the Institute for Canadian Values and Canada Family Action, we request that the Minister refuse admission of Dr. James Kincaid to Canada for a lecture on October 19th, 2013 in Toronto,” Dr. McVety wrote.
“Dr. Kincaid is a well-known advocate for pedophilia, a criminal activity in Canada,” the letter states.

Is that description — “a well-known advocate for pedophilia” —  perhaps just a wee bit over-the-top? Does it fail to capture the complexity and sophistication of Kincaid’s nuanced arguments? Let’s read the publisher’s description of one of Kincaid’s books:

In Erotic Innocence James R. Kincaid explores contemporary America’s preoccupation with stories about the sexual abuse of children. Claiming that our culture has yet to come to terms with the bungled legacy of Victorian sexuality, Kincaid examines how children and images of youth are idealized, fetishized, and eroticized in everyday culture. Evoking the cyclic elements of Gothic narrative, he thoughtfully and convincingly concludes that the only way to break this cycle is to acknowledge—and confront—not only the sensuality of children but the eroticism loaded onto them.

Uh, really, Doc? Your beef with “contemporary America” is that we are too worried about “sexual abuse,” and so we need “to acknowledge . . . the sensuality of children” and their “eroticism”? And while we’re at it, why don’t we take a look at the cover of your book?

Nothing weird there. Nothing out of the ordinary. Move along.

Despite the protests, Professor Kincaid spoke Saturday in Toronto:

A controversial U.S. professor who writes about children and sexuality shot down his critics Saturday by declaring that he is not an advocate for pedophilia.
Dr. James Kincaid, standing with his wife, Nita, at the University of Toronto, defended himself following his keynote address about children and sexuality.
“I’ve already said I’m not in favour of pedophilia. Period. Isn’t that enough?” he firmly told Linda Beaudoin, a sexual abuse survivor and advocate for children’s rights after she challenged him following his address. . . .
Kincaid told the Star he doesn’t think it’s a matter of rounding up “a few freaks and a few pedophiles and horrible monsters who regard young people as attractive.”
He said the real problem is that in the United States there is enormous attention paid to stranger kidnappings of children that draws the focus away from a higher incidence of children who are physically or emotionally abused.
Earlier, he told his audience that Canada is more enlightened than the U.S., where the public requires a steady diet of “predator kidnappers, Internet stalkers of youth, kiddie porn rings and such fantasies to maintain national identity.”
Of Internet predators, he added, “we are given to believe that they are legion, but the hard evidence is small.”

So, “the hard evidence is small,” Professor Kincaid?

That’s just a brief sample of headlines today. Do your own Google News search. There is certainly no shortage of evidence to contradict Professor Kincaid’s claim that the danger is insignificant.

But perhaps Professor Kincaid doesn’t Google . . . for news.

Is there any reason to believe that Professor Kincaid’s writings about “erotic” children are less than objective?

Would it be a mistake to suspect that Professor Kincaid’s interest in child sexuality is not entirely academic?

Far be it from me to insinuate any such thing.

However, when somebody writes books telling parents not to worry about perverts and predators, insisting that the danger is exaggerated, while every day’s headlines show the danger is very real . . .

Well, two lawsuits at a time, I guess.

BREAKING: Maryland Appeals Court Denies Certiorari for Schmalfeldt Appeal

In a long list of cases dismissed without comment we find this news:

“Schmalfeldt v. Hoge — Pet. Docket No. 320.”

Will update with commentary, and expected rage reaction from the deranged cyberstalker. Two words, Bill: “Res judicata.”

UPDATE: John Hoge briefly acknowledges his victory. He has previously noted how Bill Schmalfeldt refers to the bloggers sued by Brett Kimberlin as “RICO Racketeers” — i.e., in effect convicting us of a felony, on the basis of false allegations in a ridiculous civil suit filed by the perjuring bomber I call The World’s Worst Pro Se Litigant™.

UPDATE II: Further comment from John Hoge:

I never had any serious doubts about Schmalfedlt’s appeal of the peace order failing. I did consider the possibility that the Court of Appeals would take the case in order to settle some point of law, but I never had any doubt about the order being upheld.

The World’s Worst Pro Se Litigant™ Gets the Complete @Popehat Treatment

Bloggers keep asking me how to get sued by Brett Kimberlin, and I urge everyone to hurry now: If you don’t immediately join the “conspiracy” to “defame” the convicted perjuring bomber, the dishonest creep may actually wise up and reconsider his epic legal folly.

Ken White at Popehat.com has brutally dismantled Kimberlin’s RICO nonsense, and I’ll just quote a few highlights, including Ken’s point about the anonymous blogger Kimberlin Unmasked:

Kimberlin’s purpose is clear: he seeks another legal avenue to pierce the veil of anonymity and identify Kimberlin Unmasked, and he means to inflict expense and worry on someone who is criticizing him for being an unrepentant wrongdoer.

That’s important to understanding why it is not defamation to call Brett Kimberlin “evil.” Having been convicted of federal crimes, Brett Kimberlin has spent more than three decades defaming the victims of his crimes, defaming the law enforcement officials who apprehended and prosecuted him for those crimes, and defaming the witnesses who testified against him. He is an infamous liar.

He is indeed an “unrepentant wrongdoer” and why? Because repentance would first require admitting his guilt, and if he ever admitted his guilt, Brett Kimberlin would have to admit his motive.

Evil — quod erat demonstrandum. But I digress . . .

More of Ken White’s careful and masterful analysis:

Kimberlin filed an initial complaint, and then a First Amended Complaint in a couple of days. Are there flaws in his revised complaint? Hell yes. There are pleading defects, failures to offer necessary details, and vague legal conclusions where there should be predicate facts. Moreover, much of the speech Kimberlin attacks — like reports to police, petitioning of the government, statements in legal proceedings — is privileged, meaning that it enjoys protection from lawsuits. His attack on speech is so broad, and often so focused on petitioning the government, that he’s likely triggered Maryland’s rather limited anti-SLAPP statute. Am I going to explain all of the defects? No. Let him find out when he gets the motions to dismiss.
And there will be motions. . . .
Kimberlin’s focus on swatting coverage is a legal and rhetorical trick, an effort to avoid the even more obvious problems he’d have if he sued over coverage of his utterly incontestable history of committing monstrous crimes, evading his duty to repay his victims, and abusing the legal system. The effort to change the narrative should fail. I believe it will. . . .

Read the whole brilliant thing, and please do all you can to help us defeat the evil perjuring felon Brett Kimberlin, because I suspect the desperate plaintiff has not fully considered the consequences of his forthcoming failure. When he loses this lawsuit? Heh.

Neal Rauhauser Uses @CatsRImportant to Discuss a Certain Address in Maryland

Having previously explained how Brett Kimberlin associate Neal Rauhauser took over Melissa Brewer’s @catsrimportant Twitter account, now let’s show you what Neal has been doing with that account:


As I have previously explained, I haven’t lived in Maryland for more than a year, for well-known reasons. May 22, 2012:

Convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin on [May 21, 2012] continued his effort to silence those who write about his criminal past by contacting my wife’s employer, claiming that I was “harassing” him. The resulting security concern required immediate relocation if I was to be able to continue writing about the case of Kimberlin, a violent felon, perjurer and admitted tax cheat who is employed as the director of a 501(c)3 non-profit that has collected $1.8 million in contributions since 2005.

Kimberlin’s associate Neal Rauhauser is a relentless liar and has promoted the falsehoods that (a) my former residence is on a “cult compound,” and that alternatively (b) I was “kicked out” because I’m a dangerous extremist or (c) I lied about leaving Maryland.

Last month, the pro-Kimberlin troll mob — including Bill Schmalfeldt (now @LobotomyRadio), R.J. Sterling (@AdversAerial), Matt Osborne (@OsborneInk) and @BreitbartUnmask (whom some suspect to be Kimberlin’s associate, convicted child pornographer Craig Richard Gillette) — were claiming that I had been “served” at the Maryland address. For some reason, however, Brett Kimberlin’s lying admirers cannot provide proof (because none exists)  that I was served (because I wasn’t) in Maryland (where I don’t live). Go figure, huh?

All of this is a devious and dishonest game — a deliberate lie — to provoke me to declare where I actually do live: “Tell the bomber where you and your family are, Stacy. What could go wrong?”

This has been going on for more than a year. Yet it is Kimberlin who claims that I have “conspired” to “stalk” and “harass” him, you see.

Bad causes attract bad people, which is why Brett Kimberlin’s dishonesty and sadistic cruelty is emulated by his twisted admirers. Just take a look at the perverse game played by Neal Rauhauser:

In other words, these wicked creatures are now suggesting that they would SWAT innocent people, and then try to blame me for it.

Go ask Neal Rauhauser (@catsrimportant) why he is so full of monstrous hate, why he loves evil and hates truth.

Whatever he says in reply will be a lie, because he is satanic.

Neal Rauhauser Uses @CatsRImportant to Spread His Evil Lies as ‘Hard Candy’

Brett Kimberlin’s war against conservative New Media — the federal lawsuit Kimberlin v. the Universe, et al. — would be impossible without the assistance of Neal Rauhauser, the disgraced Democrat campaign consultant whose “Weiner Truther” obsession with the 2011 Anthony Weiner scandal added new stains to his infamous reputation even before Rauhauser became Kimberlin’s self-described “associate.”

During last year’s controversy about Brett Kimberlin, I tried with little success to get people to focus on Rauhauser’s connection to Kimberlin, which was what originally interested me in Kimberlin’s story. Alas, Obama’s history with Bill Ayers had made the “progressive bomber” meme so irresistible to most conservatives that trying to get them to understand Rauhauser’s newsworthy role was difficult.

Another problem: Neal Rauhauser is incredibly weird. If you try to describe him, most people will look at you like you’re crazy.

What does it say about Rauhauser that, when he created a fake “persona” to cyberstalk Patrick “Patterico” Frey, he chose the “Gaped Crusader,” which is also the title of a porn movie about anal sex?

And while you’re letting that little clue sink in, take just a minute to ask yourself this: Where, how and why did Rauhauser develop his bizarre penchant for online secrecy, deception and impersonation?

There is no need to suggest any specific answer to such a question, when Rauhauser himself has offered us quite an obvious clue.

A week ago, Melissa Brewer abandoned her @catsrimportant Twitter account after victims of her harassment exposed Brewer’s 2006 prostitution conviction, which involved a 19-year-old sex offender who was arrested and charged with being her pimp. This was newsworthy because Brewer had been involved in the “Stop Rush” boycott against Rush Limbaugh, had put out a “hit list” against conservative bloggers including Sister Toldjah and Darleen Click and, in June 2012, had encouraged deranged cyberstalker Bill Schmalfeldt’s harassment of Kimberlin target Aaron Walker.

Brewer quit her Twitter account, and Neal Rauhauser evidently took it over, using it to smear, harass and threaten various of his enemies, including the defendants in Kimberlin’s lawsuits. Not only was the name of the account changed, but also the avatar and the profile art:

“Hard candy”? Isn’t that interesting? It’s prison slang for murder, especially used by Mexican gangs to describe an inmate targeted for death by stabbing with a shank, i.e., an improvised knife. Isn’t it interesting, as I say, that Neal Rauhauser chose the name “hard candy,” a term that would be very familiar to his own targeted enemy, Patrick “Patterico” Frey, whose day job involves prosecuting gangsters.

We could interpret “hard candy” as Rauhauser’s implied threat toward Frey, but the phrase also has other perverse connotations:

Oh, my, Neal. Oh, my, my.

Remember: Melissa Brewer says she is a sexual abuse survivor, yet Neal Rauhauser has taken over her Twitter account and renamed it “Hard Candy,” with associations of gang murder and child pornography. And why? To attack and threaten his personal enemies.

Rauhauser is Brett Kimberlin’s associate, and another Kimberlin associate, Craig Richard Gillette, was convicted of child pornography.

Probably just a coincidence, huh?
