A free advertisement for the Trump campaign broke out in Philadelphia last night. The Mostly Peaceful™ Protest included arson, looting and police seriously injured when they were run down in the streets by a rampaging motorist. What inspired this spontaneous expression of free speech was an incident in which cops responded to a 911 call about a man with a knife. Walter Wallace Jr., 27, reportedly had mental health problems. Police pulled their guns and ordered Wallace to drop the knife. Instead, he charged at them, and was shot about 10 times. Immediately, it was claimed (a) Wallace was not close enough to the cops to present a deadly threat, and (b) the cops fired more shots than were necessary to stop Wallace. To which I would reply (a) how close is “close enough”? and (b) how many times do the cops have to yell “drop the knife”?

Undecided voters in Pennsylvania can now ponder those questions while the Philly P.D. battles the rioting mob of Joe Biden voters.




 

Hunter Biden, ‘Allegedly’

My apologies for not providing regular updates on the Hunter Biden scandal which is, in fact, the Joe Biden scandal. That is to say, nobody would really care what was found on Hunter’s laptop computer, were it not for the fact that the son was getting lucrative foreign deals based on his father’s position as vice president of the United States.

Because the story was developing over a period of days, and getting abundant coverage elsewhere, I didn’t feel a need to add my two cents to the rapidly growing pile of headlines. But it’s turned into a major scandal, and here are three recent headlines from The Federalist:

The liberal media’s attempt to suppress this story, by repeating nonsensical Democratic Party propaganda about “Russian disinformation,” is exposed as profoundly dishonest. The media are lying. The emails have been corroborated as real. Even the Biden campaign itself has not denied that these are actually Hunter Biden’s emails, and the facts contained in those emails? It’s just damning.

Those emails, however, are not the entirety of the scandal:

Hunter Biden is facing accusations that his laptop includes numerous suggestive images of underage girls, Rudy Giuliani announced on Newsmax TV Tuesday night. Rudy Giuliani also broke the news that a text message between Hunter and Joe indicates potentially nefarious activity, including Facetiming naked, between Hunter and an unnamed 14-year-old girl.
A source close to the matter, though, who claims to have seen the images on Hunter’s laptop, told Revolver that about one-third of the images are of the same underage girl. Some of the images are topless, while in others she is shown in suggestive positions with Hunter himself.
Remarkably, while Giuliani has not alleged this, Revolver’s source claimed that the illicit photos on Hunter’s laptop were of a member of the Biden family.

“Allegedly,” I hasten to add. While I cannot verify what Giuliani says about the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop, ask yourself this: What accounts for the “Deep State” corruption of the FBI and the CIA? Why were our law-enforcement and intelligence agencies in the tank for Hillary? What sort of hidden crimes are bureaucrats attempting to conceal? Who is being protected by this war against Trump?

I don’t know. But those QAnon guys have some suspicions.




 

Is This White Privilege? Florida Lunatic Stabs Cop in the Neck, Doesn’t Get Shot

When I watched the video of this incident, it bothered me:

A 21-year-old man stabbed a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputy in the neck [Oct. 11], according to police.
Deputy Charles Williams was hospitalized with a cut on his neck and released [Oct. 12] morning, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.
The man accused of stabbing him, Nicholas Furgason, faces charges of attempted felony murder of a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence and resisting an officer without violence
Deputies responded about 12:40 p.m. [Oct. 11] to a home in Fishhawk Ranch in Lithia, according to the news release. They were called there to help workers at Gracepoint, a Tampa behavioral healthcare provider, with an involuntary mental health evaluation on Furgason.
Furgason at first cooperated with deputies and Gracepoint staff, according to the Sheriff’s Office. After about an hour of discussion, medical officials decided they would admit Furgason to Gracepoint under the Baker Act, a Florida law that allows for the involuntary commitment of someone believed to be a harm to themselves or others.
Upon learning he would be going to Gracepoint, deputies said Furgason ran away into a wooded area. Williams ran after him while another deputy, Nicholas Cruz, followed behind in a marked patrol cruiser.
Williams caught up to Furgason and, according to the Sheriff’s Office, “used deescalation techniques” to calm Furgason down. The Sheriff’s Office released body camera footage that begins with the deputy facing Furgason on a paved trail in the woods.
“Why are you running, dude?” the deputy asks him. Furgason doesn’t answer.
“Are you scared?” the deputy asks.
“Yeah,” Furgason says.
Williams then explains that Furgason isn’t in trouble, but he has to put him in handcuffs to keep him from running away again. He approaches Furgason and grabs his left arm. Then, the video shows Furgason jerking toward the deputy and the deputy can be heard screaming.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Furgason stabbed Williams in the neck with a knife. Furgason ran away, and the deputy followed, yelling at him to stop. The body camera video shows him pointing his gun toward Furgason and yelling into his radio that he was stabbed in the neck.
Williams then pulled out his Taser and got close enough to Furgason to use it. Williams and Cruz detained Furgason, and Williams applied gauze to his wound. Later in the body camera video, deputies picked up what appeared to be a small hunting knife from the ground beside Furgason.
Furgason was booked into the Falkenburg Road Jail on Sunday evening. He remained there Monday evening in lieu of $27,500 bail, according to jail records.

Honestly, if I was the sheriff, I’d call this a failure. At a time when law enforcement is under intense scrutiny for shooting black suspects, cops need to shoot more white suspects, just to even the score.

White lunatic stabs a cop? Bang, bang. Dead lunatic.

“Stacy, you should have more compassion for crazy people. After all, you’re pretty crazy yourself.” True, but I never stabbed a cop.

The more I think about this kind of “social justice” policy, the more I like it. If cops just start routinely shooting white criminals, it creates a built-in defense against your Ben Crump types whenever a black suspect gets shot. They can’t claim your officers used “racial profiling” or “excessive force” against a black suspect if your department shot six or seven white perps last week. If “excessive force” becomes your standard policy, who’s to say what “excessive” means? You’re moving the Overton Window, see?

Forget about “de-escalation techniques.” Instead, train your officers to escalate every arrest into a guns-drawn standoff, if possible. Like, you pull somebody over for a traffic violation and they give you some attitude, whip out the pistol: “Hands up! Step out of the car!” And if they make one wrong move, blast ’em full of holes. They gotta respect the badge.

What gets me about this lunatic in Florida is, he didn’t show gratitude toward the deputy. The Baker Act is your friend. A three-day holiday in the nuthouse, that’s just what these kooks need, and they should be grateful for it. But you’re gonna stab a cop? That’s the difference between the Baker Act and getting yourself a permanent dirt nap.

Philadelphia: Murder City, U.S.A.

If you want to stay alive, stay out of Philadelphia. Earlier this month, the total of murders in the city surpassed last year’s total:

The police commissioner says gun violence in Philadephia is an epidemic that the department is battling.
“We are not giving up, we are not waving the white flag, and we are not taking our foot off the gas,” said Commissioner Danielle Outlaw.
The city controller said [Oct. 6] that Philadelphia is on par to reach 450 murders this year.
“At the start of a new week, we once again find ourselves lamenting another weekend marred by gun violence. Yesterday, we experienced a Monday where six people were senselessly killed,” said Commissioner Danielle Outlaw . . .

(Note the phrase “gun violence,” as if firearms were the cause of this “epidemic.” The human factor — the criminals who actually commit these murders — disappears in this mechanical view.)

According to figures released by Philadephia officials, shooting incidents are up 57% over 2019 rates. The number of shooting victims is up 47% compared to last year.
Homicide numbers have now eclipsed last year’s total for the entire year, now standing at 365 murders. . . .
“The notion that the police department alone can cure the pandemic of gun violence is not only erroneous but it absolves other stakeholders their duty to participate in this public health crisis,” said Outlaw.
Mayor Jim Kenney says economic factors are also leading to the violence spike and that police officers are doing their best.
“They are patrolling our streets trying to get between combatants that are dead set on killing each other. If you couple in the pandemic and economic crisis and the rising gun violence it’s all just a toxic stew,” said Mayor Kenney.

It’s the “pandemic,” the “economic crisis” and guns themselves causing this, says Mayor Kenney. Speaking of mayors, the last Republican mayor of Philadelphia left office in 1952. Philadelphia has been a Democrat fiefdom for nearly 70 years, but we’re not supposed to mention this when someone notice the murdered corpses piling up in city streets.

Dana Pico reminds us of the real cause of Philly’s crime wave:

Larry Krasner, who was elected District Attorney in Philadelphia in 2017, and was the beneficiary of a huge campaign contribution from leftist billionaire George Soros, is a leftist who hates the police and doesn’t pursue supposedly petty offenses, and ran on a platform saying he would:

  • Stop prosecuting insufficient and insignificant cases
  • Review past convictions, free the wrongfully convicted
  • Stop cash bail imprisonment
  • Treat addiction as an illness, not a crime
  • Protect immigrants while protecting everybody
  • Reject a return to the failed drug wars of the past
  • Stand up to police misconduct

The wholly predictable results? In 2018, Mr Krasner’s first year in office, city homicides jumped from 315 to 353, a 12.06% increase.

Question: What percentage of homicide suspects have prior felony convictions on their record? This is a point I’ve previously made:

People don’t usually begin their criminal careers with murder. No, they start small — a robbery here, a burglary there — and cycle in and out of the criminal justice system for a few years until, one day, they commit a heinous atrocity. Then everybody looks at their arrest records and says, “Why wasn’t this monster already behind bars?”

Many murders in Philadelphia and other cities don’t involve innocent victims; it’s gangs of drug dealers fighting over “turf.” A gangster killed by rival gangsters is no cause for mourning, but no honest citizen would wish to live in a community where the streets are ruled by gangsters. That’s why nearly all the people who live there are Democrats.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton got 83% of the vote in Philadelphia.




 

Denver: ‘Mostly Peaceful’ Protest Until Gunman Murdered a Trump Supporter

Nothing quite so perfectly illustrates what’s wrong with America’s media class as what happened Saturday in Denver. A group of conservative “Patriots” announced a pro-police rally. The organizer of the event said the intention was “to make a public show of force after communist and socialist protesters broke up a pro-police rally in July.”

Communists — yes, self-described Communists — then announced their own counter-protest, declaring on Facebook:

Rightwing vigilante violence against anti-racist protesters has become commonplace. Especially since, both locally and nationally, the cops and courts have mostly given these terrorists a green light.
But we are undeterred! We feel it is our responsibility to vocally oppose fascists every time the try to assemble. And we hope you feel the same way! And what are our options? To cede our streets to them? That’s how you get Hitlers.

You see how Communists deploy words like “fascist” and “terrorist” against anyone who disagrees with them, and make the preemptive accusation of “vigilante violence” against the people who were, in fact, rallying in defense of law enforcement. This is how a pro-police, law-and-order rally is made to seem like something sinister and dangerous. And the media eagerly regurgitates this Communist propaganda narrative.

By publicizing the Communist message, of course, the media acted as recruiters for the counter-protest, encouraging their audience to turn out and fight the alleged “fascists” (i.e., the ones who are for the police and against rioting). The predictable result is violence:

 

A private security guard is being held as a suspect in a deadly shooting near the Denver Art Museum, according to the Denver Police Department (DPD).
Matthew Dolloff, 30, is being held at the Denver Downtown Detention Center on suspicion of first degree murder. He has not been formally charged.
Dolloff was contracted through Pinkerton by 9NEWS. It has been the practice of 9NEWS for a number of months to contract private security to accompany staff at protests.
DPD originally took two people into custody and later found the second individual, a 9NEWS producer who works in the investigative unit, was not involved in the incident. The producer is no longer in police custody and is not a suspect.
This incident occurred beneath a city police surveillance camera and police confirmed they have footage of what happened.
DPD said that a little before 3:50 p.m. there was some sort of verbal altercation just as protesters were leaving the area.
Someone sprayed pepper spray and DPD said that is when at least one shot was fired.

This “contracted through Pinkerton” claim has proven false. We’ll get to that part of the story in a second, but first we must tell you that 4chan — that  unruly hive of hackers — identified Dolloff within two hours of the shooting, whereas it wasn’t until Sunday afternoon that the media named him. Even 9News (KUSA-TV, the Denver NBC affiliate) didn’t name him until police issued a statement Sunday, despite the obvious fact that (a) many employees of 9News knew Dolloff’s name, and (b) Dolloff’s arrest record was publicly available through the Denver County Jail’s website.

Meanwhile, hackers combed through Dolloff’s online presence and discovered abundant evidence of his far-left fanaticism, including his participation in the 2011 “Occupy Denver” protests, where he was quoted telling a reporter “corporations have killed America.” Dolloff hates cops.


 

Question: Is “f**k the police” a sentiment that you would expect to see expressed by someone who aspires to work as a security guard?

It turns out that Matt Dolloff was not licensed as a security guard (licenses are required by law in Denver), nor was he an employee of Pinkerton, which issued a statement saying Dolloff was “a contractor agent from a long standing industry vendor,” whatever that means. A city official made clear it was illegal for Dolloff to be an armed guard:

“If he was operating as a security guard, he was in violation of the law,” department spokesman Eric Escudero told the news station.
“Security guards are prohibited from carrying or using a firearm without getting an armed firearm endorsement for their license.
“All security guards in Denver are required to get a federal background check before they receive their license.”

So who is this “industry vendor” who KUSA-TV used to hire Dolloff?

It doesn’t matter, really, but there is something odd here. Nothing on Dolloff’s online presence suggested he had worked as a security guard. What are the odds that an “industry vendor” would send a cop-hater with no license to work security for a Denver TV station at this rally?

Just a random coincidence, I’m sure.

The victim was 49-year-old Navy veteran Lee Keltner:

Keltner was identified as the victim by family members who revealed the grandfather and military veteran was shot dead in front of his 24-year-old son.
Carol Keltner, who said she is the victim’s mother, wrote in a social media post that her son was ‘murdered’ because he supported the police.
‘My son Lee was at the patriot rally today in Denver,’ Carol wrote in a Facebook group called Northeast Arkansas Tea Party Group. ‘After the rally a person on the BLM and Antifa side went up to him said a few nasty words then shot him in the head.
‘He was murdered because he backed the police. His 24 year old son was with him. I moved to Arkansas because Colorado got too expensive and liberal. The left has gotten out of hand.’ . . .
Keltner’s sister, Suzan Keltner, on Sunday said her nephew has been struggling to cope after witnessing his father’s death.
‘He was my brother, my only sibling,’ Suzan told the New York Post. ‘He also served our country.’
Jay Keltner, who identified himself as one of Lee’s sons, also posted about the tragedy on Facebook, writing: ‘I can’t believe my dad’s gone. This will never be right #RIP.’

We will certainly learn more about what happened in the days and weeks to come. Keltner’s family will be suing KUSA-TV for this.




 

VIDEO: Cop-Hating Anarchist in Michigan Calls Trump a ‘Tyrant’

Say hello to Brandon Caserta, one of the “right-wing extremists” charged with a conspiracy to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer:

A new video of one of the 13 men arrested and charged in an alleged kidnapping plot against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer shows the suspect is a Trump-hating anarchist despite media claims the plot was hatched by pro-Trump white supremacists.
“You know Trump is not your friend, dude,” said Brandon Caserta, with a large anarchist flag hanging on his wall behind him. “And it amazes me that people actually, like, believe that. When he’s shown over and over and over again that he’s a tyrant. Every single person that works for government is your enemy, dude.”
In another video from Caserta, the anarchist asserted, “[police] are oppressing you for a paycheck.” “If you’re still supporting law enforcement… you are supporting the people who are enforcing slavery on everyone else.”
Documentary producer Robby Starbuck, who discovered Caserta’s videos, blasted the integrity of the corporate media, writing on Twitter: “Why did it take me to pull all these videos to give people access to the truth about the ideology these guys have? It says a lot about the state of journalism that a director/producer had to dig these clips up because we all know we can’t trust mainstream news to do their job.”

Note well the gauged earlobes, the multiple crude tattoos, the heavy metal T-shirts and general “edgy” hipster/punk vibe with this guy.

His Instagram handle was @xenoccult and he probably identifies as Pagan. Bet you money he has, or once had, a reptile collection — boa constrictor and/or iguana — and likes to smoke weed. His hobbies, other than anarchism and guns, include comic books and sci-fi/fantasy movies.

What I’m saying is, Brandon Caserta is a definite type.

If you know many working-class white Millenials, you are familiar with the Brandon Caserta type, the autodidact Philosopher King, who got his education from paperback books, YouTube and Reddit. They’re a dime a dozen, this type, but few of them ever escalate to violence.

Notice that nobody in the mainstream Right is defending these guys. There is no right-wing equivalent of BLM to organize hashtag campaigns or street protests when white criminals get busted. Republicans aren’t toppling statues or torching police cars over Brandon Caserta’s arrest.

The Left will turn violent terrorists like Angela Davis into cult heroes, but the Right is about law and order, peace and prosperity.




 

The Idiot Caucus Weighs In

Say hello to Adam Fox, who was busted by the feds as part of a terrorist conspiracy.  Is that the face of an intelligent constitutional scholar? Does this man look like an argument for racial superiority? The dude was homeless, living in the basement of a vacuum cleaner shop.

Terrorism is bad. How many different ways do I need to say this? It’s like telling kids, “Hey, stay away from heroin. It’s addictive.” But the members of the Idiot Caucus never seem to learn:

Agents foiled a stunning plot to kidnap Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, authorities said Thursday in announcing charges in an alleged scheme that involved months of planning and even rehearsals to snatch Whitmer at her vacation home.
Six men were charged in federal court, while seven others accused of trying to target police and the state Capitol were charged in state court.
“All of us in Michigan can disagree about politics, but those disagreements should never, ever amount to violence. Violence has been prevented today,” Detroit U.S. Attorney Matthew Schneider told reporters.
The six men charged in federal court plotted for months, consulting and training with members of a group that federal authorities described as a militia, and undertaking rehearsals in August and September, according to an FBI affidavit.
Four planned to meet Wednesday to “make a payment on explosives and exchange tactical gear,” the FBI said in the court filing.
The FBI quoted one of the accused as saying Whitmer “has no checks and balances at all. She has uncontrolled power right now. All good things must come to an end.”
The six men charged in federal court were arrested Wednesday night and face up to life in prison if convicted. They were due in court Thursday. Andrew Birge, the U.S. attorney in western Michigan, called them “violent extremists.”
Whitmer has been praised but also deeply criticized for the state’s response to the coronavirus. She put major restrictions on personal movement throughout the state and on the economy, although many of those limits have been lifted. The Michigan Supreme Court last week said a 1945 law used as the foundation for many of the governor’s orders is unconstitutional.
The government said the plot against Whitmer was stopped with the work of undercover agents and informants.
Through electronic communications, two of the alleged conspirators “agreed to unite others in their cause and take violent action against multiple state governments that they believe are violating the U.S. Constitution,” the FBI said.
The criminal complaint identified the six as Adam Fox, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris, Brandon Caserta, all of Michigan, and Barry Croft of Delaware.
Fox said he needed 200 men to storm the Capitol building in Lansing and take hostages, including the governor, according to the FBI. He said he wanted to try Whitmer for “treason” and would execute the plan before the Nov. 3 election, the government said. The group later shifted to targeting the governor’s vacation home, the FBI said.
The government said the scheme appeared to have roots in a June gathering in Dublin, Ohio, attended by more than a dozen people from several states, including Croft and Fox.
“The group talked about creating a society that followed the U.S. Bill of Rights and where they could be self-sufficient,” the FBI affidavit said. “They discussed different ways of achieving this goal from peaceful endeavors to violent actions. … Several members talked about murdering ‘tyrants’ or ‘taking’ a sitting governor.”

In case any idiots are reading this — taking a break from your “dark web” fantasies of revolution, perhaps — let me explain something that you don’t seem to understand: Not everyone who says he’s your friend is your friend. Guarantee you that this little “cell” was penetrated by undercover FBI men, or else that one of their buddies got busted and became an informant. There is no such thing as a terrorist conspiracy that is not subject to infiltration, especially “right-wing extremists” like this Michigan crew. For decades, the FBI has developed tactics to deal with this kind of threat, so that whenever you see such a “right-wing” attack actually happen, it’s almost always a “lone wolf.”

Any attempt to organize a violent right-wing group larger than two or three people will almost certainly be detected by federal agents. Alas, there is never any shortage of idiots in the world.

Why have I never been a “white supremacist”? Because the kind of white people involved in that stuff are always so inferior.




 

What Counts as a ‘Tragedy’?

Did I mention that I’ve been watching a lot of police chase videos lately? It’s my way of relaxing, tuning out for a moment the continuous drumbeat of political “crisis” messages from the media. There is not an actual crisis in America, but ever since Donald Trump was elected, the media have gone into such a complete panic — “Democracy Dies in Darkness”! — as to agitate their audience into a state of helpless fear.

The only way to avoid being sucked into this vortex of madness is to tune out these messages, and focus your mind on something — anything — that will absorb your attention. You need a hobby, something to distract you from the non-stop insanity on cable TV news.

For me, this is police pursuit videos. As I explained in the case of Mitch Taebel, after watching a few hours of these videos on YouTube “you find yourself developing a thorough hatred of these lunatics . . . and find yourself hoping that the driver either dies in a disastrous crash or is shot to death by cops.” Really, these are bad people, and if they die as a consequence of their evil actions? Well, that’s OK with me.

So it was a happy ending in February 2018, when a convicted felon named Billy Frazier decided to run from Douglas County sheriff’s deputies in my hometown of Lithia Springs, Georgia:

 

Frazier, 30, was doing 69 mph in a 45 mph zone when the deputy first pulled him over. Why did Frazier then try to escape in a high-speed chase? Well, he was on probation, having previously been convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Frazier had a stolen pistol in the car, as well as what police called “a large quantity of prescription medications, MDMA (Ecstasy), cocaine and crack cocaine, methamphetamine and marijuana that he intended to distribute.”

 

In other words, Frazier was a career criminal and drug dealer, and he knew that if cops caught him again, he was going to prison. That’s why he tried to get away and accidentally killed himself in a fiery crash.

So why is that video titled “Georgia police chase ends in tragedy”?

How is it a “tragedy” that a criminal got decapitated by T-boning into a semi trailer rig at high speed? This puzzled me enough that I decided to research the February 2018 incident, which is why I know so much about Frazier’s criminal history. Alas, he was not alone in the car:

A 10-year-old and a man were killed in a car crash that ended a police chase on the evening of February 3.
On Tuesday, Douglas County Sheriff’s officials released details regarding the fatal wreck resulting from a police chase on Thornton Road last Saturday night.
Here is what they say happened:
At 7:45 Saturday evening, Douglas County Sheriff’s deputies noted a gray 2006 Infiniti M35 headed southbound on Thornton Road near Westfork Boulevard doing 69 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The deputy initially pulled the Infiniti over, with both cars pulling into the Quik Trip gas station at the intersection of Thornton and Maxham roads. As the deputy began to get out of his car, the Infiniti sped off, pulling recklessly back onto southbound Thornton Road. The deputy took off in pursuit.
Officials said the pursuit was allowed to continue for about three miles because the Infiniti was driving in a reckless and dangerous manner and because the deputy said the driver was the only person in the car.
The Infiniti continued to weave in and out of traffic on Thornton Road aggressively and at a high rate of speed. After it passed Interstate 20, the Infiniti lost one of its rear wheels.
Officials said the deputy was authorized at that point to use a PIT maneuver to end the pursuit. Before the deputy could do this, however, the Infiniti went through a red light and hit a semi that was crossing the roadway at the intersection of Thornton Road and Riverside Parkway. As it struck the semi, the Infiniti went underneath the semi and caught fire as it came to rest on the other side.
At that point, pursuing deputies realized that there were four other people in the car — all children under the age of 16. The driver, identified as 30-year-old Billy Frazier of Atlanta, and the front seat passenger, 10-year-old Quemontae Frazier, were killed in the wreck. Deputies were able to remove the other three children — ages 6, 5 and 3 — from the burning car and put out the fire. None of the kids were wearing seatbelts.
That is the Douglas County Sheriff’s version of events.
“The car literally went underneath the trailer and then came out the other side,” said Douglas County Sheriff Jesse Hambrick. “It was a very bad accident.”
Frazier was driving on a suspended license and was on active probation at the time of the wreck.

It’s been years since I studied dramatic theory, but as I recall, tragedy was the downfall of a heroic figure as a result of fate. From the standpoint of the Greek classics, then, the basic aspects of the Billy Frazier saga don’t fit the definition. In the vernacular sense, of course, tragedy just means “something bad happened,” and certainly the death of a child is bad.

So the moral of the story, I guess, is that if you’re a convicted felon on probation with illegal drugs and a stolen handgun in your car, you should probably avoid speeding in Douglas County if you’ve also got four kids in the car, including a 3-year-old, not wearing seat belts.

A grim tale? Yes, but less depressing than what’s on cable TV news.
