‘The Idea That People Are Going to Debate Their Ideas Is Outrageous’
Posted on | February 4, 2017 | 3 Comments
Thursday night, there was a near-riot at New York University when self-declared “anti-fascists” disrupted an event with Gavin McInnes hosted by the College Republicans. Although it was not as violent as the riot Wednesday in Berkeley that shut down Milo Yiannopoulos’s speech, the NYU event highlighted just how extreme the Left has become.
First, Gavin McInnes is not actually a “right-wing” figure, and he certainly is not a “fascist” in any meaningful sense of that word. He was co-founder of Vice magazine and is known as the “Godfather of Hipsterdom.” He is a comedian, really, a sort of “shock jock” a la Howard Stern, who appeals to a fan base of mostly Gen-X and Millennial guys. McInnes is a libertarian who despises political correctness. The idea that protesting his appearance at NYU was “anti-fascism” is absurd, reminiscent of George Orwell’s quote from Politics and the English Language, “The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable’.” Yet the fact that the accusation is absurd does not make it any less dangerous, because if people act as if it were true, what might they do to the person falsely labeled “fascist”? And what happens to our political discourse if substantial arguments can be disqualified by this kind of pejorative labeling? So even if you don’t like Gavin McInnnes, the fact that self-described “anti-fascists” are attacking him is cause for alarm.
Second, these protests were organized by Marxist-Leninist radicals. The pre-printed signs with slogans like “Smash Fascism & White Supremacy” were supplied by the Workers World Party, a notorious neo-Stalinist cult. These people are advocates of totalitarianism, and their presence in the anti-McInnes mob was not coincidental. One of the lessons of the 1960s, is that radical movements must either exclude Communists or else they will be controlled by Communists. The story of how the SDS was taken over and destroyed by Marxist revolutionaries, giving rise to the terrorist Weather Underground, is sufficient proof of this rule. (See David Horowitz, Radical Son, also Destructive Generation, by Horowitz and Peter Collier.) Communism is “The Worst Idea in the World,” and whenever I see Commie protesters, it makes me nostalgic for Gen. Nguyen Ngoc Loan, a man who knew how to deal with them effectively.
Third, the problems in academia are exacerbated by the kind of faculty Roger Kimball identified as Tenured Radicals. There was a woman who said she is a professor (although she has not yet been identified) who made a spectacle of herself during the NYU mob scene, screaming at the police: “How dare you, how dare you f–king a–holes protect neo-Nazis. F–k you, f–k you, f–k you. . . . F–k you, NYPD.” How could a professor be so intolerant? NYU Professor Michael Rectenwald, who defended McInnes’s right to speak, said this woman’s attitude represents “a political and historical illiteracy” that is “emblematic of a dogmatic SJW assertion that wants to shut down all expression that they fear.” The claim that McInnes and the College Republicans are “neo-Nazis” is so clearly false that no rational person could believe it, yet some allegedly “educated” people evidently do believe it, and indeed there are professors who act as if “Republican” and “Nazi” are synonyms. This is dangerous.
Finally, it is clear that the Democrat Party no longer believes in free speech or open debate, but are actively working to construct a totalitarian regime with the authority to repress dissent and opposition. For at least three decades, the academic Left has striven to exclude conservatives and libertarians from employment in faculty and administrative positions. Having achieved hegemonic control on campus, the Left is seeking to extend their authority throughout society and realize that they cannot do this if opposing viewpoints are allowed a fair hearing. It is especially important to the Left to defend its totalitarian control of our education system, which is why we see them staging riotous protests to prevent conservatives from speaking on university campuses.
This mood was expressed by protester Mark Phelam, who told Gothamist reporter Jake Offenhartz: “[T]his phenomenon has to be smashed — you can’t allow a mainstream platform for straight up fascists and Nazis, and the idea that people are going to debate their ideas is outrageous.”
What “phenomenon” does he mean? The Republican Party? Support for President Trump? Anyone who didn’t vote for Hillary Clinton? To describe Gavin McInnes and College Republicans as “straight up fascists and Nazis” is not merely false, but dangerous. These farfetched claims function as a pretext to justify political violence. Here you have protesters brandishing signs supplied by a genuine totalitarian organization while perversely claiming that anyone who disagrees with them is a fascist who should be denied the right to speak in public. The protester claims it is “outrageous” even to debate Republicans, as if there can be no valid reason to support President Trump. Yet if Gavin McInnes’s ideas are so self-evidently false, why is it necessary to silence him? That is to say, if someone’s arguments can be refuted by facts and logic, then there is no real harm in letting them speak. This is how I deal with feminists — give them enough rope and let them hang themselves. All you have to do is quote them, and anyone with a modicum of common sense can see what’s wrong with feminist ideology. If Gavin McInnes is so wrong, why isn’t the Left offering any actual arguments against him? Why are they trying to exercise a heckler’s veto? What are they afraid of?
“A hit dog will holler,” as folks say down home. Whatever it is that Gavin McInnes represents, the hysterical shrieking reaction of the Left tells you that McInnes hits them where it hurts. Robby Soave of Reason writes: “McInnes, it should be noted, routinely says obnoxious things that deserve criticism. He’s something of a Diet Milo.” This is a rather dismissive remark which, on the one hand, lends aid and comfort to the Left by implying McInnes might deserve exclusion from campus, while on the other hand underestimating the value of McInnes’s provocative style. If he wasn’t saying anything important, if he had no persuasive influence, would McInnes drive the Left into such a frothing rage?
Holy shit. This is gold. Professor at NYU screaming at cops "you are Proud Boys!" 10:30 https://t.co/iiDGjPEBIf

Why Does @ElleMagazine Support Murderers Against ‘Heteropatriarchy’?
Posted on | February 4, 2017 | Comments Off on Why Does @ElleMagazine Support Murderers Against ‘Heteropatriarchy’?
“Those who still defend the supremacy of white, male heteropatriarchy had better watch out. The next 1,459 days of the Trump administration will be 1,459 days of resistance.”
— Angela Davis, Jan. 21, 2017
“It was quickly established that Angela Davis had purchased at least two of the guns used in the deadly attack, including the shotgun that killed Judge Haley, which she had bought two days earlier and which was then sawed off.”
— Ronald Radosh, March 11, 2012
Do you believe in kidnapping and murdering judges? In August 1970, California Superior Court Judge Harold Haley was presiding over the Marin County murder trial of San Quentin inmate James McClain, accused of killing a prison guard. Judge Haley was “taken hostage in his courtroom, along with several others . . . and killed during the attempted escape of his captors with their hostages.” Judge Haley was murdered with a sawed-off shotgun that had been purchased two days earlier by Communist Party activist Angela Davis. Prosecutors said Davis, who had been dismissed from the faculty of UCLA in 1969 because of her CPUSA membership, was in love with a San Quentin inmate named George Jackson, who had been convicted of a 1961 armed robbery and who had adopted radical politics in prison. Arnold Ahlert summarized the courthouse attack in which Judge Haley was murdered:
George Jackson’s 17-year-old brother, Jonathan, charged into a Marin County courtroom and took several people hostage, including Judge Harold Haley, the prosecuting assistant DA, and two jurors. The assailants taped a sawed-off shotgun (owned by Davis) to Haley’s chin. In the ensuing escape attempt, a shootout took place during which Haley’s head was blown off, and Jonathan Jackson was killed.
Responsibility for this crime can never be erased from the career of Angela Davis. She has blood on her hands, and while she was acquitted at trial, the historical record is not in dispute about the facts.
Speaking of facts, notice the term “heteropatriarchy” in Angela Davis’s Jan. 21 speech at the Women’s March on Washington. This term was coined by lesbian separatist Janice Raymond, a disciple of anti-male radical Mary Daly, and whenever feminists use this term, they express a condemnation heterosexuality, per se. Thus, in applauding Angela Davis, the Women’s March crowd was endorsing an ideology that is anti-capitalist, anti-male, anti-white, and also anti-heterosexual.
We know that the Women’s March endorsed criminal violence because another speaker at the event was Donna Hylton, “who spent time in prison for participating in the kidnapping, rape, murder, and ransoming of a gay man.” And here are sources for the facts about Angela Davis:
- Associated Press, “Angela Davis is Sought in Shooting That Killed Judge on Coast,” Aug. 16, 1970
- Linda Charlton, “F.B.I. Seizes Angela Davis in Motel Here,” New York Times, Oct. 14, 1970
- Lawrence V. Cotj, “The Facts Behind the Angela Davis Case,” Human Events, June 17, 1972
- Ronald Radosh, “Jury isn’t out on Angela Davis,” Washington Times, March 11, 2012
- Kevin Lloyd Billingsley, “A Millennials’ Guide to Angela Davis and Other Stalinists,” Front Page Magazine, Jan. 24, 2017

Everybody should know these facts, but the liberal media and our education system have insisted on scrubbing clean the historical record, leaving young people ignorant about the crimes of the radical Left. It is astonishing how many journalists cooperate with this agenda, like Stalinists airbrushing Trotsky out of pictures of the Bolshevik revolution. Can anyone guess what inspired me to write this post?
TO: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
To the editors, Elle magazine:
Your decision, on January 21, to publish the transcript of a speech by Angela Davis calls into question your editorial judgment. Ms. Davis is not only a notorious Communist revolutionary, but also supplied the weapons which in August 1970 were used in a brutal crime that led to the murder of Judge Harold Haley.
Despite these well-known facts about Ms. Davis, which anyone could discover with a simple Google search, the transcript of her speech in Elle was preceded by a laudatory introductory paragraph in which Lyndsey Matthews praised Ms. Davis as a “civil rights activist.” Ms. Matthews celebrated Ms. Davis’s call for “resistance” and “social justice.” This raises the question of whether Elle magazine, its editors, its advertisers, and its corporate management at Hearst, now officially endorse Ms. Davis’s advocacy of Communist revolution and the criminal violence with which Ms. Davis was notoriously associated.
While it is likely that Ms. Matthews was merely quoting from some publicist’s thumbnail biography of Ms. Davis, and was swept up in the prevailing anti-Trump fever of the liberal journalism community, it is nonetheless a falsehood — deception by omission — to treat someone like Ms. Davis as just another “activist.” How can a women’s magazine like Elle show such contempt for the life of Judge Haley, whose murder inflicted a grievous loss not only on his widow (Gertrude Ahern Haley, his high school sweetheart) but also his three daughters, Joan, Patricia and Carol? Do the editors of Elle care nothing at all about the victims of violent crime? Is the Hearst corporation now taking the side of murderers and Communists? And why should advertisers, who presumably believe in the free-market system and don’t advocate murder, pay money to a publication that endorses such things?
It is ironic, as author Kevin Lloyd Billingsley has pointed out, that Ms. Davis’s speech included the remark that “history cannot be deleted” when, in reporting this speech, Elle magazine and other liberal publications did delete so much important history.
Sincerely,
Robert Stacy McCain
Is Elle now a fashion magazine for man-hating anti-white lesbian Marxist radicals? Has the management at Hearst lost its mind? Is there no limit to the lunacy inspired by Trump Derangement Syndrome?

Environmentalists Want Your Baby Dead

In an appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, the executive director of the Sierra Club, Michael Brune, advocated abortion to reduce human population, saying that abortion “helps to address the number of the people that we have on this planet. We feel that one of the ways in which we can get to a sustainable population is to empower women to make choices about their own families.” Ironically, Brune was being interviewed because of his support for an open-borders immigration policy:
Today, the Sierra Club is mobilizing its members across the country to join Center for Community Change, United We Dream, SEIU, Planned Parenthood, the Human Rights Campaign and other allies in national-day-of-action rallies to support immigrants and oppose Trump’s xenophobia.
If Brune wants to kill babies in the womb as a way “to address the number of the people that we have on this planet,” how can he claim is it wrong for America to protect its own borders “to address the number of the people that we have” in our own particular part of the planet? Why does Michael Brune consider it “xenophobia” for America to enforce its own laws, in order to defend our own people?
As for Brune’s neo-Malthusian claims about abortion as necessary for population “sustainability,” let him take those arguments to any one of the Top 10 countries with the highest total fertility rates:
1. Niger …………………….. 6.62
2. Burundi ………………… 6.04
3. Mali ……………………… 5.95
4. Somalia ………………… 5.89
5. Uganda ………………… 5.80
6. Burkina Faso ………… 5.79
7. Zambia …………………. 5.67
8. Malawi …………………. 5.54
9. Angola …………………. 5.31
10. Afghanistan …………. 5.22
What is Michael Brune doing about “sustainability” in Uganda and Afghanistan, Burundi and Burkina Faso? Why is he supporting abortion to kill American babies while supporting open-borders policy to add millions of foreigners to our population? The total fertility rate in the United States is already substantially below the so-called “replacement” level (2.1 average lifetime births per woman), so why is “the number of people we have” such a problem for the Sierra Club? Isn’t the real problem that the Sierra Club is a Democrat Party lobbying group, which is trying to reduce the number of Americans who vote Republican?
The Sierra Club’s annual budget is about $100 million. How much of that money are they spending in Somalia and Malawi? None, I’ll bet.
No, the Sierra Club spends its money from liberal donors to elect Democrat politicians whom it then lobbies to enact liberal policies. Whether these policies are actually helping the environment is less important to liberal donors than whether they’re helping the Democrat Party. Like feminism and the so-called “labor movement,” environmentalism is just another partisan scam, foisted upon weak-minded people who don’t believe in God, but who have a quasi-religious faith in the Democrat Party and “a woman’s right to choose” (so long as her choice doesn’t involve voting Republican).
There is not now, nor has there ever been, an “overpopulation” problem, and certainly not in the United States. The myth of overpopulation was created by a bunch of rich guys including David Rockefeller and Hugh Moore, and was popularized in Paul Ehrlich’s 1968 book The Population Bomb. Ehrlich wrongly predicted that “overpopulation” would soon lead to worldwide mass starvation, but here we are, nearly 50 years later, and America is suffering from an obesity epidemic. (You can read more about the history of the population-control scam in Donald Critchlow’s Intended Consequences: Birth Control, Abortion, and the Federal Government in Modern America.) My point is that the kind of myth-making about “sustainable population” that Michael Brune peddled on Tucker Carlson’s show has been as thoroughly debunked as “Haven Monahan.”
The Sierra Club isn’t worried that there are too many people on the planet; they’re worried that too many people who live in the part of the planet called “America” vote Republican.
The planet is not “endangered,” there is no “overpopulation,” the scientific “consensus” about global warming is phony propaganda, and you should never trust a word anyone from the Sierra Club says.

Shapiro Wins Lawsuit in ‘Clock Boy’ Case
Posted on | February 3, 2017 | 1 Comment
Being sued for bogus defamation claims is a subject with which I have personal experience. Good to see a big win for Ben Shapiro:
On Thursday afternoon a Texas Judge dismissed a lawsuit filed against Daily Wire Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro by Mohammed Mohammed, the father of “clock boy” Ahmed Mohammed.
Claiming defamation, Mohammed filed the lawsuit in October 2015 after Shapiro made an appearance on The Kelly File questioning Ahmed’s story and motives surrounding a clock he brought to school that looked like a bomb. Ahmed was detained by police for the “clock” and was suspended. His family, who has ties to foreign regimes sponsoring terrorism, and CAIR promptly accused the school of Islamophobia and racial profiling.
Today, they were defeated in their quest to silence those who exposed them as activists, terror sympathizers and politically motivated.
“Ben Shapiro has always been a steadfast advocate of the First Amendment and there was never any doubt he was going to stand up for his right to speak freely,” Shapiro’s attorney Kurt Schlichter of Schlichter & Shonack LLP in Los Angeles tells Townhall.
(Via Memeorandum.) Where did Mohammed Mohammed get this idea that people who make news can sue commentators who share their opinions about the news? Where did he get this bad legal advice? Isn’t it true that during the Obama administration, the Left engaged in an attempt to silence its critics through such “lawfare” harassment? Isn’t it fair to presume that Mohammed’s lawsuit against Shapiro was encouraged by the same people who have tried to stifle Pamela Geller? The only way we can defend the First Amendment is with an Army of Davids, so that there are so many people loudly proclaiming the truth that the liars cannot hope to silence us. And we need to beat these people in court every time they try this tactic of bogus lawsuits. The Texas judge has awarded attorneys’ fees and court costs to Shapiro. Let’s hope this teaches the enemies of freedom a lesson.

Terrorist Shouts ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Shot After Machete Attack on Louvre Museum
Posted on | February 3, 2017 | Comments Off on Terrorist Shouts ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Shot After Machete Attack on Louvre Museum
He brought a knife to a gunfight:
A terror probe has been launched in Paris after a machete-wielding man was shot after trying to attack four soldiers outside the Louvre.
The suspect was shot five times in the stomach and is in a critical condition.
He was shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ — Arabic for ‘God is the greatest’ — according to the Paris prefect, and reportedly had paint bombs in his backpack.
After being refused entry, he pulled out the weapon and was shot by a soldier, officials have confirmed. A soldier is believed to have suffered a head injury.
US President Donald Trump tweeted following the attack in the French capital: ‘A new radical Islamic terrorist has just attacked in Louvre Museum in Paris. Tourists were locked down. France on edge again. GET SMART U.S.’

How Feminism Caused the #Berkeley Riot: Understanding Leftist Psychology
Posted on | February 2, 2017 | 2 Comments
This morning I had planned to follow-up on Wednesday’s riot in Berkeley, but today Grandpa McCain was babysitting both his grandsons, which made blogging impossible. Now I’m finally getting around to the follow-up, but I’m exhausted and so I’ll just briefly remind you what I’ve been saying for nearly two years now: Feminism Is a Totalitarian Movement to Destroy Civilization as We Know It — and that caused the riot.
Ask yourself:
- Who were the people smashing windows and throwing fireworks and assaulting innocent people on the UC-Berkeley campus?
- What was their motive for this rampage of political violence?
The answers are:
- Young guys who don’t have jobs or wives or bills to pay.
- Trying to impress girls with how “progressive” they are.
Look, this isn’t very hard to understand. During the late 1960s, a lot of guys joined radical protest movements because it was the cool thing to do on liberal college campuses, and by “the cool thing to do,” of course I mean how a guy could get laid. If you were a scrawny neurasthenic geek, you weren’t going to be scoring with the homecoming queen, but you might still have a chance to get laid if you could impress a liberal chick by being an outspoken advocate of “peace” and “civil rights,” etc. A basic motive that attracted a lot of dudes into the orbit of SDS, was because being radical was a way to get laid. (“Smash monogamy!”)
Flash-forward about 50 years, and what’s the situation? During the 2016 Democrat primary campaign, the radicals supported Bernie Sanders, who lost to Hillary Clinton, who made feminism the raison d’etre of her campaign and then lost to Donald/Adolf Trump/Hitler. So now, on liberal campuses, you’ve got a lot of feminists who supported Hillary moping around in a post-election depression, and these morose college feminists aren’t in much of a mood for romance, if you get my drift. This means their “progressive” boyfriends aren’t getting any action, and so what are these radical “Bernie Bros” gonna do? Throw an anti-Trump riot.
That’s what all this strutting macho #Resistance bullshit is really all about — dudes trying to get laid. Fortunately I came of age in the late 1970s, when the Left was demoralized and everyone was so cynical about politics that sex was about sex for its own sake. Also, there was no Internet back then, so nobody cared about a college kid’s opinion. All these 19-year-old “social justice” morons spewing mental sewage on Twitter and Facebook — who are they trying to impress, and why? Same answer, really. It’s about status-seeking and, amid the post-Hillary feminist butt-hurt epidemic, a guy who wants to get laid on a “progressive” campus like UC-Berkeley has to engage in invidious displays of anti-Trump rage.

You don’t need a Ph.D. in psychology to figure this out. However, if a guy is smart enough to go to Berkeley, he ought to be able to figure out that feminism causes herpes. Maybe guys should just be Republican and stop trying to impress those vile feminist whores. Also, consider switching your major to something useful and stop hanging around those dopehead left-wing perverts like the accused murderer Pablo Gomez.
