Liberal Paranoia in the Trump Age

Ever since Hillary lost the election, Democrats have been stoking the fires of fear, hatred and suspicion among their liberal voter base. This fear-mongering is an attempt to overcome the demoralization Democrats face after last November’s unexpected defeat. However, the anti-Trump propaganda campaign relies on a misguided demonization of Republicans as “fascists,” perpetrators of hate crimes and other atrocities. Because this narrative is essentially false, the Democrats are quite literally driving many of their supporters crazy, filling their minds with preposterous paranoid conspiracy theories that have no basis in reality.

Shortly after Election Day, someone vandalized an Episcopal church in the tiny crossroads hamlet of Beanblossom, Indiana, in rural Brown County, population 15,242, about an hour south of Indianapolis. The vandals painted “Heil Trump” and “Fag Church” on the church. Given the Episcopal denomination’s drift into liberalism, and the fact that Brown County went more than 2-to-1 for Trump (who got 63% of the county’s vote to Hillary’s 31%), this “Fag Church” attack seemed entirely plausible to liberals who claimed America was besieged by a wave of Trump-inspired hate crimes. “The Southern Poverty Law Center counted 867 cases of hateful harassment or intimidation in the United States in the 10 days after the November 8 election,” CNN reported at the time:

On Sunday morning, the Rev. Kelsey Hutto got the news that vandals had painted “Heil Trump,” an anti-gay slur and a swastika on the side of her church, Saint David’s Episcopal in Beanblossom, Indiana.
She told CNN’s Alisyn Camerota . . . that she was at first sad, but believes that the church was targeted because it has always been inclusive to everyone. So, she said, she is taking comfort that whoever did this actually did this for the right reason, because the church has always been welcoming to everyone.
“Doing the right thing is not always the popular thing.” . . .
The Brown County Sheriff’s Department tells CNN it is investigating the incident. Investigators don’t currently have any suspects or leads, but they have shared their report with the state police department and are hoping someone in the community will come forward with information if they have it.

Earlier this month, police apprehended the culprit, George Nathaniel Stang, a 26-year-old homosexual who plays organ at the church:

Stang told everyone he discovered the graffiti when he arrived for Sunday morning services. . . .
According to court records, when confronted with the evidence, the 26-year-old gay man confessed.
Investigators say Stang admitted to painting the “Heil Trump” and “Fag Church” graffiti himself because he wanted to “mobilize a movement after being disappointed in and fearful of the outcome of the national election.” He insisted his actions were not motivated by anti-Christian or anti-gay sentiments. . . .
Brown County Prosecutor Ted Adams talked about Stang’s alleged motive.
“He explained that one of the reasons he had done it was because of fear. He was concerned about the results of the election,” Adams said.
In a three-page, handwritten statement, Stang, according to court records, wanted to “mobilize a movement.”
“I suppose I wanted to give local people a reason to fight for good, even if it was a false flag,” he wrote. “To be clear my actions were not motivated by hate for the church or its congregation. I of course realize now, this was NOT the way to go about inspiring activism.”

To give people “a reason to fight for good,” you try to “mobilize a movement” by perpetrating a crime you blame on your political opponents. Can you say “Reichstag fire,” boys and girls?

For all the talk of Trump being a neo-fascist, Democrats seem to be the ones resorting to Nazi-style propaganda tactics in America lately. The media are contributing to this paranoia, as even liberal Chris Cillizza laments in citing multiple recent examples in which “liberals, fueled by Twitter outrage, jumped to conclusions that portrayed Trump and other Republicans in the poorest possible light. And, on each occasion, the fuller story either totally or mostly rebutted the version of the story the left had seized on. . . . Democrats run the risk of appearing like the boy who cried wolf.” As Stephen Green comments at Instapundit, this “panic-mongering” is “about keeping the base riled up” until the next election.

The problem is that this requires constant hyping of anti-Republican paranoia and, as the case of the Beanblossom hate hoax shows, many Democrat voters are already so emotionally unstable as to be dangerous.

The Party of Hate

The Democrat Party is the world’s most successful hate group.
It attracts poor people who hate rich people, black people
who hate white people, gay people who hate straight people,
feminists who hate men, environmentalists who hate
the internal combustion engine, and a lot of
bratty college kids who hate their parents.
However, the real secret of the party’s success
is that it attracts the support of
journalists who hate Republicans,
and who therefore work tirelessly to convince
the rest of us that we should vote for Democrats. . . .
No matter who the Republicans nominate for president,
the Organized Forces of Liberal Journalism will paint him
as a greedy, cold-hearted, woman-hating racist.
If the GOP nominated a Buddhist monk or a Latina lesbian,
still the New York Times and NBC News would find
a way to convince themselves that the Republican candidate
represented everything liberals hate about America —
the military, the police, Christianity, capitalism,
the internal combustion engine and
heterosexual white men who work for a living.

 

That’s a quote from a post I wrote in February 2016 after watching a debate between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. A guy emailed me to ask permission to quote it in his book, and when I read the quote, I laughed: “Damn, I forgot how funny that was.” A quick Google search revealed that it’s been quoted all over the place and why?

Because it’s true.

Today I was sitting here in my office with the TV on CNN and was just marveling how utterly one-sided their coverage was. The people on CNN are completely disconnected from the kind of people who turned Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin red last November — people who love America and Jesus and the internal combustion engine.

When did Democrats become the anti-America party? And why don’t the idiots on CNN realize what’s wrong with the Democrat Party? They’re all like a bunch of kooks trapped inside a suicide cult. Today the CNN kook cult was going on and on about General Flynn, a guy who resigned from the Trump administration weeks ago, and why? Because they think the Flynn “scandal” could turn into a Trump scandal — a delusion, a liberal fantasy. Is anyone going to be talking about General Flynn in November? Of course not. Outside of the Beltway media, nobody’s talking about General Flynn now. CNN’s stuck in third place in the cable-news ratings because if people want anti-Trump hate 24/7, MSNBC’s producing a more entertaining hate festival. CNN has become tedious and predictable.

The symbiotic relationship between the Democrat Party and the liberal media is bad for both the media and the Democrats, because they’re tuning out reality in order to enjoy their shared fantasy. What’s truly frightening, however, is to think how close Hillary came to winning the election. Can you imagine the media celebrating the glorious “first 100 days” of her administration? We must do more to fight The Party of Hate.



 

Tampa Teacher @LoraJane Hates Christians, Promotes LGBT in Class

The state of Florida pays Lora Jane Riedas to promote atheism and homosexuality at Riverview High School. She also teaches math:

A teacher in Orlando, Florida is under fire for allegedly forcing students to take off their Christian cross necklaces, and for “promoting an LGBT agenda” in class.
The Tampa Bay Times reports the Liberty Counsel organization sent a letter to Hillsborough County Superintendent Jeff Eakins claiming that teacher Lora Jane Riedas “barred at least three students from wearing Christian crosses on necklaces in her classroom, claiming they are ‘gang symbols.’”
Riedas, a math teacher at Riverview High School, also engaged in gay rights political activism during class time, according to the complaint.
“Ms. Riedas clearly seeks opportunities to engage in GLSEN-directed classroom activism, which has called on teachers to use its ‘Educator Guide’ to promote GLSEN’s views about homosexuality and gender confusion on ‘Day of Silence,’ and to do so this Friday, April 21, 2017,” Liberty Counsel President Mat Staver wrote.

 

Did I mention she’s a Democrat? Because that’s what this is really about. Democrats hate Jesus, Democrats run the public schools and they want every kid in Florida to be an atheist homosexual Democrat. If you are a Florida parent who voted for Donald Trump, your tax dollars are paying for schools where Democrats teach your children to hate you.

How did this happen? Democrats control the university system (nearly all political donations by top professors go to Democrats) and a university degree is required to become a public school teacher. Because Democrats control teachers’ unions (which gave nearly $30 million to Democrats in 2016), they also control the hiring process in public schools, and are usually able to dominate local school board elections. Democrats use their control of the taxpayer-supported education system to promote the Democrat Party agenda, indoctrinating children with atheism and socialism, and encouraging sexual deviance among young people.

It is impossible to exaggerate how decadent the U.S. public school system has become. Liberty Counsel reports that Riedas’ lesbian partner, Riverview High chemistry teacher Valerie Chuchman, “dressed as a nun for school spirit week, complete with a ‘cross necklace’ made of skulls. She tweeted she has ‘a bad habit’ and the point is to be ‘creepy.'”

When the Democrats who control the school system talk about “diversity” and “inclusion,” this is a code for attacking Christianity.

In their letter to the superintendent of Hillsborough County schools, the Liberty Counsel lawyers cite two Supreme Court decisions:

The law is also clear that parents, not agents of the state, including Ms. Riedas, and certainly not GLSEN, have the right to direct the upbringing and associations of their children. The law presumes that parents possess what a child lacks in maturity, experience, and capacity for judgment required for making life’s difficult decisions, not activist school employees.  “The fundamental theory of liberty upon which all governments in this Union repose excludes any general power of the State to standardize its children. . . The child is not the mere creature of the State;” Pierce v. Society of Sisters, 268 U.S. 510 (1925). (Emphasis added). “The history and culture of Western civilization reflect a strong tradition of parental concern for the nurture and upbringing of their children. This primary role of the parents in the upbringing of their children is now established beyond debate as an enduring American tradition.” Wisconsin v. Yoder, 406 U.S. 205 (1972).

The public school system is anti-Christian and also anti-American. Why? Because the Democrat Party hates Christians and hates America.

 

How Bad Was the Hillary Campaign?

Matt Taibbi is certainly not my favorite political journalist, and Rolling Stone was permanently disgraced by the UVA hoax, but nevertheless Taibbi’s brief review of the new Clinton campaign book, Shattered by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, is very worthwhile reading. After recounting the comedic failure of Clinton insiders to figure out their campaign’s raison d’etre — why did Hillary want to be president? — Taibbi summarizes the problem briefly and accurately:

What Allen and Parnes captured in Shattered was a far more revealing portrait of the Democratic Party intelligentsia than, say, the WikiLeaks dumps. And while the book is profoundly unflattering to Hillary Clinton, the problem it describes really has nothing to do with Secretary Clinton.
The real protagonist of this book is a Washington political establishment that has lost the ability to explain itself or its motives to people outside the Beltway.

What is true of the “Washington political establishment” in the Democrat Party is similarly true for Republicans. There is a yawning chasm of misunderstanding between the voters and people who make their careers in politics, and Taibbi doesn’t want to admit that he and his employer are part of the problem. That is to say, the liberal bias of the media creates such a huge advantage for Democrats, easily worth 5% of the vote in national elections, as to create a sort of cushion against reality. Meanwhile, Republicans in Washington are apt to succumb to “Potomac fever,” betraying their conservative voters in pursuit of a “centrist” or “mainstream” image, which leads them into debacles like the “Gang of Eight” immigration plan. Journalists contribute to this problem — call it The Reality Gap — with reporting so one-sided as to be dishonest.

Is Matt Taibbi willing to admit that Rolling Stone published that UVA rape hoax story for partisan purposes? Isn’t it true that the “campus rape epidemic” hysteria of 2014 was part of a Clinton-friendly propaganda blitz to make feminism a central focus of the 2016 campaign? And isn’t it also true that the Black Lives Matter movement was similarly a Democrat Party propaganda operation intended to mobilize black voters?

Liberal journalists devote enormous effort to promoting narratives that portray Democrat Party core constituencies — women, racial minorities, gay people — as victims of systematic injustice, while demonizing Republicans as racist, sexist, homophobic villains. The media become so entranced by this victimhood narrative that, like the Clinton campaign insiders, they are stunned to discover American voters aren’t buying it.

This was the entirety of Hillary’s campaign logic — (a) she’s a woman, (b) women are victims, and therefore, (c) vote Democrat: “I’m With Her.”

 

If that’s the only argument you’ve got, you deserve to lose. And anyone who thinks Bernie Sanders would have done better is insane. Our national debt is now nearly $20 trillion — that’s trillion, with a “T,” $20,000,000,000,000 — and we cannot afford to pay for the massive federal welfare state we’ve already got, much less the outright socialism that the Bernie voters want. Go take a look at the disaster in Venezuela, if you want to see where the Bernie Sanders agenda leads. Unless and until Democrats are willing to confront the reality of socialism’s failure, and abandon the divisive Cultural Marxism of identity politics, they will continue to alienate the ordinary American voter.



 

Typical Democrat Voter

Say hello to Jair Nilton Cardoso. The 30-year-old Brooklyn resident is a Democrat who has an obsession with Barack Obama’s oldest daughter, Malia. Last week, Cardoso went to “the fourth floor of the Manhattan building where 18-year-old Malia is currently interning, held up a sign, and starting shouting that she should marry him.” Secret Service agents quickly escorted him out of the building, but two days later, Cardoso “followed her out of her other interning job, in the West Village.” As a result, agents searched Cardoso’s apartment and he was “detained and taken to a Brooklyn hospital for a psychiatric evaluation.”

All Democrat voters are crazy, but some are more crazy than others.

 

Democrats Spend $8 Million and Lose

Jon Ossoff fell short of 50% in Tuesday’s special election in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District, and in June will face Karen Handel in a runoff to fill the seat vacated by Tom Price, who was appointed as President Trump’s Secretary of Health and Human Services. Ossoff failed despite the fact that Democrats had poured $8 million into his campaign in hope of taking advantage of anti-Trump backlash in a low-turnout election, where nearly a dozen Republican candidates were contending in the so-called “jungle primary.” So despite the spin from the liberal media (CNN calls it a “wake-up call” for Republicans), this was another disappointing loss for Democrats, and if the GOP unites behind Handel, it’s likely that the June runoff will end Ossoff’s congressional hopes.

Handel has a reputation as a moderate “establishment” Republican, but that’s Georgia, where Johnny Isaacson was considered a moderate until he was elected to the Senate and emerged as one of the most conservative members of the GOP caucus. Georgia is still a very conservative state and, no matter how “energized” Democrats are by their opposition to Trump, if they’re looking to Georgia for their future, they’re doomed.

Insofar as the GA-6 special election was a “wake-up call” for anyone, it’s Democrats who need to answer the phone. During the Obama era, the Democrat Party lost touch with mainstream America:

Unnoticed by their liberal leaders in Washington, Democrats have suffered what one embattled legislator called a “catastrophic” decline in their influence at the state level. “Since 2008, Republicans have taken nine hundred legislative districts from Democrats, securing control not just in the South, where many voters oppose President Obama, but in such diverse locales as Michigan and Maine,” Tennessee state Rep. Mike Stewart wrote [in December] in a column for the Hill. Republicans now control both legislative chambers in 32 states, and 33 states have Republican governors. This erosion of the Democratic Party’s political base may in large measure explain why the Clinton campaign was stunned by Trump’s victory in states like Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, which had incorrectly been assumed to be “safe” for Democrats.

Because they have the liberal media constantly telling them that they are “on the right side of history,” Democrats are able to ignore the reality of their own failures, and even interpret their defeats as victories. Now we can expect them to spend millions more in their effort to elect Jon Ossoff to Congress, and what will they do if they fail again?

Remember, @SarahKSilverman Speaks Officially for the Democrat Party

Sarah Silverman is a Democrat. She spoke from the main stage at the 2016 Democratic National Convention, and may therefore be regarded as an official spokeswoman for the Democrat Party. It is important to keep this in mind when we consider what Ms. Silverman says:

Sarah Silverman joined in the anti-Donald Trump “Tax March” protest in New York City Saturday, where she demanded the president release his tax returns in a fiery speech.
“Show us your f*cking taxes, you emotional child,” the 46-year-old comedian and liberal addressed the president in comments delivered to the protesters.
“You like being a superficial bully? Here’s one for you: you are a three at best,” Silverman added, apparently referring to Trump’s appearance.

Yes, the President of the United States is an “emotional child” and a “superficial bully,” according to official Democrat Party spokeswoman Sarah Silverman, who has never held any job that involves adult responsibility. She has made a show-business career out of her own self-indulgent brand of “humor,” and has an estimated net worth of $3.5 million. This qualifies her to denounce Donald Trump, who made his own fortune in the demanding and competitive world of real-estate development. Maybe you don’t like Donald Trump. Perhaps you consider making wisecracks on TV to be a more socially valuable enterprise than building skyscrapers, but are Hollywood entertainers really the people best qualified to lecture us about superficiality and emotional maturity? Can you cite any particular personal achievement that would make Sarah Silverman a moral authority in such matters?

 

Yes, that’s official Democrat Party spokeswoman Sarah Silverman at Saturday’s protest, brandishing a sign which proclaims that the President of the United States “eats farts 4 dinner.” These are the utterances of someone who calls the President an “emotional child.” And you may recall some of Ms. Silverman’s previous official policy statements.

 

Yes, in February, Sarah Silverman demanded that the U.S. military “join the resistance” to “overthrow” our democratically elected government.

Why is it that elected Democrats are never asked to comment on what their official spokeswoman Sarah Silverman says? Contrast how the Democrats get a free pass with how reporters demand that Republicans respond every time Rush Limbaugh says something “controversial.” This is another example of the media’s partisan double-standard.

‘Hate’ as a Synonym for ‘Republican’

The crude propaganda of the Democrat Party’s media machine isn’t likely to become any more nuanced and subtle anytime soon:

You can read the rest of that at the Ms. Magazine website, but you get the point. Anything that is not liberal is labeled “hate,” and anything which is not about promoting the Democrat Party is “right-wing” or “far right.” Any appearance on a college campus by anyone associated with conservative or Republican (i.e., “far right”) political ideas is funded by “right-wing billionaires,” and this “hate” is “putting students in danger.”

The Left deliberately encourages this simple-minded intolerance, demonizing their political opponents, even while they accuse Republicans of “extremism,” “hate” and being “ideologically driven.” But yeah, let’s talk about shady billionaires with political agendas . . .
