The Kaiser and the Clintonistas

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it,” George Santayana remarked, and young people today know so little about the past that they are well and truly doomed. The teaching of history has been replaced by indoctrination for progressive activism, as Jane Shaw has recently explained, which means that the more “educated” a young person is, the less they are likely to know about the past. There are patterns in history, and the more we study history, the more easily we recognize the repetition of these patterns. In the last couple of weeks, my bedtime reading has been Martin Gilbert’s history of the First World War, a book I’ve already read twice, but one thing about good books is that you can enjoy re-reading them at intervals of five or 10 years.

At any rate, while re-reading Gilbert’s book, I took note of a certain pattern that some people with bad memories are condemned to repeat:

Few things are more likely to precede defeat than the conviction that you are on the verge of victory. One hundred years ago, in the spring of 1917, Germany had every reason to believe that it would triumph over its enemies in the First World War. France had been bled white in repeated attacks on the German army’s fortified lines, England was suffering from shortages of both munitions and military manpower, and Russia was descending into a revolution that would, within a year, enable Germany and its Austro-Hungarian allies to shift enormous numbers of troops and guns to the Western Front. Yet the entry of the United States into the war on April 6, 1917, proved to be the counterweight that shifted the balance. By the autumn of 1918, the fond hope of Germany victory had been exposed as a delusion. The ultimate result of the Kaiser’s war was the destruction of the Kaiser’s empire, and of much else besides.
What is true in war is true also in politics. Hubris is nearly always the precedent to unexpected defeat. In 1964, Lyndon Johnson won a landslide victory; less than four years later, LBJ could not even win his own party’s nomination for re-election. In 1972, Richard Nixon was re-elected in a landslide; less than two years later, he was forced to resign from office. More recently, after George W. Bush’s 2004 re-election, some imagined that this victory was the harbinger of a “permanent Republican majority” — a GOP electoral hegemony based on a so-called “center-right” realignment — but two years later, Democrats captured control of Congress and in 2008 Barack Obama was elected president. Obama’s success in turn led Democrats to become overconfident, and Hillary Clinton’s supporters believed they were “on the right side of history,” as rock singer Bruce Springsteen told a rally in Philadelphia on the eve of the 2016 election. Unfortunately for Democrats, history disagreed. . . .

Coming This (Down)Fall: #RiceCapades

by Smitty

I’ve been pretty much wrong with every thing I’ve ever predicted, politically.

Undaunted, let me offer the following rough outline:

  1. Trump has Congress appoint a special prosecutor.
  2. They do a thorough investigation of #OccupiedResoluteDesk’s abuses, direct and indirect.
  3. They publish a redacted copy.
  4. Trump pardons Obama.

Think about it:

  • Obama wants to go to court. He can drag out every last bit of punctuation in court, while his thralls tear up the country.
  • Trump has far more to lose than to gain by actual litigation. What are you raaaaacists actually going to do to Teh One?
  • By just putting it out there and pardoning Obama, Trump executes irrefutable judgement on Obama. And Donald can claim healing, bi-partisanship, hugs, and cupcakes.

College Girls: Prostitutes and Democrats

Acacia Friedman (left) and Samara Charlotin (right) were busted for prostitution.

Hey, buddy, how’d you like to get it on with a couple of college girls? Well, the going rate is $5,000, according to police in Coral Gables, Florida, where University of Miami student Acacia Friedman, 23, and Florida International University student Samara Charlotin, 19, were arrested Wednesday in a sting operation. The deal with an undercover cop was reportedly negotiated by Friedman’s fellow Miami student Maury Noun, 21. Charlotin was also charged for possession of oxycontin and marijuana. According to Heavy.com, it appears that the enterprising student/pimp Noun is a Trump supporter, while Friedman’s online profile shows she supported Bernie Sanders for president in last year’s Democrat primaries. And then there’s this:

That was Friedman’s Twitter profile picture, showing her posing with former President Bill Clinton at a campaign event last year.

Dear White People: Lara Witt (@Femmefeministe) Hates You

There is nothing surprising about feminist writer Lara Witt’s declaration: “Also white people are evil. Whiteness is evil.”

Democrats hate white people. Everybody knows this by now. The #BlackLivesMatter movement was funded by Democrat donors to incite hatred against white people and law enforcement officers, as a way to motivate black voters to turn out for Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election. The feminist movement is also now an anti-white movement.

The end of the Obama era, and the defeat of Hillary Clinton — in an election where exit polls showed 53% of white women voted for Donald Trump — has prompted the Left to cast aside its mask of progressive, egalitarian “social justice.” Now, their agenda is 100% hate.

Megan Fox analyzes a number of Lara Witt’s writings:

She presumes to tell white women to “shut the f*ck up” because she’s superior to them, and she came to this conclusion based on the color of her skin versus theirs. . . .
Imagine for a moment that a white woman had written all these same things about black women. Her Twitter account would be suspended, she would be fired and unable to get another job in no time, and would be labeled a “Nazi” for the rest of her life.

What’s important to understand is that Democrats encourage and endorse this kind of rhetoric — anti-white, anti-male, anti-Jew, anti-Christian, whatever — because hatred is their agenda. Hatred is the organizing principle and political philosophy of the Democrat Party.

Democrat Commits Violence Against Women That Feminists Will Ignore

You won’t see any feminist blogs discussing this story:

Embattled Louisiana State Senator Troy Brown has resigned from office he announced Thursday afternoon.
At Thursday’s announcement, Brown stated, “In both criminal manners, the judges issued a punishment that is commensurate to the offense. If we did a parallel for what the Senate body is doing on the criminal side, it amounts to an execution.”
The Louisiana Senate was set to meet next Monday for a hearing in which Senator Dan Claitor, a Republican from Baton Rouge, said he would call for Brown’s expulsion from the Senate due to Brown’s abuse against women.
Brown, a Democrat from Geismar, has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor charges involving physical abuse against his wife and another woman.
Brown’s attorney, Jill Craft, appeared before a Senate committee Wednesday asking for various records to help defend her client who initially said he would fight expulsion. Craft argued that misdemeanor charges should not be a reason to expel a state senator.
“It’s not a question of a misdemeanor. It is a question of beating women multiple times,” said Sen. Claitor. . . .
Claitor said that during Monday’s expulsion hearing, he planning to play a recording of the 911 call Brown’s wife made to police to report the abuse. In the recording, Senator Brown can be heard cursing in the background. His son can also be heard in the background crying. . . .
Brown pleaded no contest in January to a misdemeanor charge of domestic abuse battery, arising from allegations he bit his wife’s arm. He pleaded no contest in September to a misdemeanor simple battery charge stemming from allegations he punched a girlfriend.

Go ahead, ask Amanda Marcotte or Jessica Valenti when they’re going to write about Senator Brown. Feminists don’t actually care about “violence against women.” That’s just a partisan campaign slogan like “choice” and “equality” that feminists use to elect Democrats.

The Left’s Dystopian Future

Daniella Bova is a Catholic mom and author whose most recent e-novel, Cadáin’s Watch, is about a family “determined to live free” who are “hunted by the totalitarian bureaucracy,” but who “vow to resist oppression no matter the cost.” Her concerns for the future have been alleviated by Hillary Clinton’s defeat in last year’s election, but at her blog, Mrs. Bova notices how, once the shoe was on the other foot, suddenly the Left began yelling about their pain:

While perusing the twitter mobs on or about November 10 I happened to see a tweet from a leftist opining that he was finding it hard to get used to living in a dystopia.
This led me to type the words dystopia and dystopian into a twitter search. There I found many such tweets, all from Leftists (some of them authors) saying they were living in a dystopia.
This is still going on today. Try the search yourself and you’ll see the evidence.
Now please. It took only the election of Trump to make Liberals “feel” like they are living in a dystopia. On what basis?
Their candidate of choice lost the election.
Meanwhile, conservatives have just lived through 8 years of tyranny and abuse by Obama and his Leftist minions.
Our groups (Tea Party) were targeted by the IRS and declared to be “risky” by the Obama administration.
We were and are being forced to purchase a product by law (health insurance) which violates our rights under the Constitution.
Businesses were mobbed and attacked and sued by Leftists for refusing to bake a freaking cake. People’s lives were ruined, They were fired from their jobs for holding the “wrong” opinion on matters of conscience.
The list could on for two pages or more, and these pretentious Liberals actually believe they were inserted into a dystopia one day after their candidate lost an election?
What does that say about them?

You can read the whole thing. What does it say about Democrats? Clearly, they had big dreams for what they could accomplish with Hillary as president, and the intense rage of the Left’s disappointment shows how important “fundamentally changing the United States of America” really is to them. Losing their power to impose their “progressive” designs on our nation was, for them, like being a toddler deprived of a favorite toy.

My 2012 Election Night column for the American Spectator, “Doomed Beyond All Hope of Redemption,” was widely cited by leftist bloggers gloating over Barack Obama’s re-election. Yet the point of the column was about accepting the reality of defeat. When a football team loses a game, it is counterproductive to sit around complaining about the referees or doing some kind of “would have/could have/should have” second-guessing about the game. You lost. You failed. You were not good enough. If you had been good enough, all the bad breaks would not have been enough to defeat you. Good teams win and bad teams lose. The loser must accept the reality that he deserved to lose, and vow to train harder and improve himself so that next time, he can deserve victory.

Judging from the Left’s reaction to Hillary Clinton’s defeat, the Democrats are prepared to keep losing for a long, long time.

Lena Dunham Declares White Women Need ‘Enlightening’ by Feminists

Pudgy tattoo-covered multimillionaire liar Lena Dunham did an interview on ABC’s The View, explaining what’s wrong with women:

“I think it’s really important to remember that it is an incredible problem that . . . 53% of white women in this country voted for Donald Trump which means that they’re not only voting against the interests of their sisters, of women who may not look like them, who they may not understand but whose rights are just as important, but also remember that they are in that case voting against their own best interest. To me a part of feminism — it’s almost like being a parent to a teenager where they’re so mad at you, they think you’re such a piece of crap and you’re like, I know you hate me right now but the reason I’m doing this is because I love you and I want us all to be safe. . . .
I think what’s really hard, obviously it pains me as a Caucasian women to think about how many women didn’t think about women who looked different or had different life experiences than them. They didn’t look outside their own back yard when they made the choice to vote for Donald Trump. . . .
I also think it’s really important to understand so many women aren’t raised with the rhetoric of self-empowerment. The messages they’re hearing from Donald Trump may be very similar to the messages they’ve always heard from their fathers, from their brothers, from their husbands. They haven’t been given the message that they do matter. And so, while I think we have an incredible amount of work to do with enlightening those women, I also have sympathy for the societal structures that keep them from understanding what they need to keep themselves safe.

(Via Breitbart; hat-tip @Charmander on Gab.ai.)

Other than the fact that Lena Dunham is the daughter of rich parents who leveraged her connections to land a contract for a low-rated feminist “comedy” on HBO, why would anyone care about her opinions? What has Lena Dunham ever done that would make anyone think that American women are in need of her “enlightening” through feminism? Does her “rhetoric of self-empowerment” include fingering her baby sister and lying about being raped by a Republican?

If you are a Christian, Lena Dunham hates you. If you are a Republican voter, Lena Dunham hates you. Lena Dunham hates babies. Lena Dunham wants the government to use your tax money to kill babies. Lena Dunham says she is “interested in engaging in a conversation,” but what she really wants is to silence anyone who tells the truth in America.

Senate Confirms Jeff Sessions 52-47, and Also Condemns Fake ‘Cherokee’ Woman

The confirmation of former Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions was also the launch of Elizabeth Warren’s 2016 presidential campaign:

The Senate voted Wednesday night to confirm Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) as attorney general, capping a vicious debate that left Democrats and Republicans alike seething at times.
No Republicans went against Sessions in the 52-47 vote. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) was the only Democrat to back Sessions.
While Republicans broke out into applause after the vote closed, Democrats largely stood silently. A handful of Democratic senators — including Manchin, Sen. Joe Donnelly (W.Va.) and Robert Menendez (N.J.) — went over and shook Sessions’s hand after the vote. Sen. Tom Carper (D-Del.), who didn’t support Sessions, hugged him on the Senate floor.
The fight over Sessions escalated this week, when Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) read a letter that Coretta Scott King had written in 1986 that accused Sessions, a U.S. attorney at the time, of using the power of his office to prevent blacks from voting.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) objected to Warren’s speech, saying she had impugned another member of the Senate. In a 49-43 vote, the Senate agreed, preventing Warren from speaking on the Senate floor on Wednesday.
Democrats accused McConnell of silencing a woman on the floor, and Warren went on a media blitz against the Republican senators and Sessions.

The phony smear against Sessions was perpetrated by the most phony member of the Senate, who falsely claimed Cherokee ancestry:

Warren has only claimed to be 1/32 Native American — which has been debunked — and even if she actually was, Warren does not have any ancestors listed on Cherokee tribe rolls that are necessary to become an official member of Cherokee Nation.

To quote the President of the United States: “She’s got about as much Indian blood as I have. Her whole life was based on a fraud. She got into Harvard and all that because she said she was a minority.”

Professor William Jacobson has thoroughly exposed Warren, whose tribal name, Fauxcahontas, means, “Lying white woman.” She tried to “prove” her non-existent Cherokee ancestry by contributing two “family” recipes for crab dishes to a 1984 cookbook called Pow Wow Chow but (a) crabs are not part of traditional Cherokee tribal cuisine, and (b) Warren’s recipes were plagiarized from a 1979 New York Times article.
