Miss Alabama 2012, Katherine Webb
#rolltide
Between the ongoing Sex Trouble slog (which is starting to bear a strong resemblance to Napoleon’s invasion of Russia) and the Crimson Tide’s big comeback in the Iron Bowl Saturday (which is why I posed AJ McCarron’s main squeeze), it may be a while before we hear from Stacy again. Smitty and I will do our best to provide an erratic but daily flow of content – and speaking of which, I have just enough gas in the tank after a weekend in the Shenandoah to get this here Rule 5 post done. As usual, exercise discretion in clicking the links, because some of the pictures linked are most definitely NSFW.
Goodstuff leads off this week with everything you always wanted to know about Catwoman but were afraid to ask. Ninety Miles from Tyranny has Girls with Guns, Hot Pick of the Late Night, and Morning Mistress; Loose Endz submits Denise Crosby in one of the worst ST: Next Generation episodes ever, Animal Magnetism chips in with Rule 5 Friday and the Saturday Gingermageddon, and Brian Noggle spices up a review of Tiger at the Gates with some of the actresses who were in the stage version of this Trojan War novel. As usual, First Street Journal has a different spin on Rule 5 and this week is all about American girls in uniform. Also, Average Bubba sent Rule 5 Friday: Hannah Ferguson Edition.
This week, EBL’s herd includes Sea Gals (not actually present at the 49ers’ humiliation), Interstellar Rule 5, Kendall Jenner, and Hollywood Vintage Christmas.
Soylent Siberia found the coffee creamer this week, as well as Overnighty Diamonds, Monday Motivationer Jazmin, Evening Awesome Boots, Tuesday Titillation Twofer With Fur, Perils of Pygmalion, Humpday Hawtness Leona Rajacic, Overnighty Roxana, Soylent Thanksgiving, Evening Encore Leona, Corset Friday: Lascivious Lingerie, T-GIF Friday WeekEnder Foreplay: The Rockettes, Weekender Minion Submission: Clambake Buffet, and Bath Night A La Bond.
A View from the Beach submits Lily Aldridge and the Gap, Three Cups a Day Keeps Dementia Away, Happy Thanksgiving!, Nice Rack!, “I’m Only Happy When it Rains!”, Another Moment of Desperation, I Don’t Care What They Do, As Long As They Don’t Scare the Horses, “Wade in the Water”, Redskins Attack Gold Miners, and Celebrities Stuck in Traffic.
Proof Positive’s Friday Night Babe is Stephanie Szostak, his Vintage Babe is Thanksgiving, Sex in Advertising asks Got Milk? and the obligatory 49ers cheerleader comes with a friend this week. At Dustbury, it’s Noel Neill and Jennifer Batten.

Shout Out To Princess Pelosi

by Smitty
Poor Princess Pelosi; once so regal. Now another beagle.
To the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot“:
I’m a bitter clinger, hear me roar.
Once I had power,
For now, it’s no more.
When I get all Beamed up,
Hear me shout!
Elections are over
Soon they’ll throw me out.I’m a bitter clinger, yes it’s true.
Staying past my sell date’s what I do.
Scheming on my comeback; foes I’ll rout:
Tea Partiers Will. Pay. Have. No. Doubt.
Landrieu Would Do Anything For Love Of A Senate Seat. That, Too. With Gusto.

The #FunnyNotFunny thing about Landrieu is that not only are the wages of her political sin going to be death in the runoff next month, but the way she’d so cheerfully promise to prostitute herself and her state in order to stay in office.

Vote Bill Cassidy
An incumbent who has been reduced to a Meatloaf reference is not worth keeping.

Instapundit offers some further analysis:
It’s about the base. And it’s not about the Democratic Party’s base, but about certain leaders’ base within the Democratic Party. This may be best understood as an intra-party struggle. Obama is the champion of the urban-black wing of the party, and because of him that wing has been on top. But his star is fading, black voters are beginning to realize that they haven’t benefited economically, and the next Dem nominee — whether it’s Hillary Clinton, Jim Webb, or Elizabeth Warren — will be from the white gentry-liberal wing of the Democratic Party. The riots, the marches, the traffic-blocking are a way of telling them that the Sharpton wing is still a force to be reckoned with, and to improve its bargaining power between now and 2016.
As usual, Insty’s analysis is more plausible than my own theory: that #OccupyResoluteDesk wants to foment chaos in order to move toward martial law.
What are the Democrats going to do if the folks in Ferguson glom onto how despicably the Dems are playing them?
— Reform Or Die (@smitty_one_each) November 26, 2014
The need to manage the competing bases within the Democrat Party adds a new angle to Missiouri Lt. Governor (and Republican) Peter Kinder’s claim about the National Guard getting a stand-down order from Democrat Governor Nixon, rather than do the logical thing and protect private property in Ferguson. Going in and calibrating the Racism Industrial Complex shock troops would be seen as the gentry “plantation owner” wing of the Democrat Party going after the plantation inhabitants so crucial at election time.
The big question is whether MO Gov. Nixon holding the National Guard in #Ferguson is enough Obama loyalty to earn him a SECDEF nomination.
— Reform Or Die (@smitty_one_each) November 26, 2014
Niger Innis also sees Ferguson as a backfiring strategy:
“What happens when the circus, and I define the circus as the paid protesters, the anarchists, the activists, the card-carrying zealots that are out there, the Occupy Wall Street crowd that has come into Ferguson. what happens when they leave town…what will be left is an economic wasteland, and the very frustration, legitimate frustration that the people of Ferguson have, the young people of Ferguson have, jobs, economic opportunity, education choices, and education and economic uplift, their situation is going to be worse off, not better off because of this” he stated.
“Burn baby, burn: voter inferno”
So there was Trayvon Martin ahead of 2012; Ferguson after 2014. This seems to indicate that, prior to the 2016 election, there will be Yet Another Tragedy involving The Oppressor and The Victim, replete with presstitutes, rabble rousers, rightfully grieving family, and a whole lotta violence.
The property destruction will continue until the rabble rousers are rejected whenever they arrive to stir the pot.
Update: Ann Coulter is typically conciliatory, but which I mean she drops a Daisy Cutter on the Left.
Weekend Reading

I am heading off into the Shenandoah Valley this weekend to spend Thanksgiving Day weekend with the family of an old friend, but before I grab my bags and head out into the rain, I need to stuff a few books into my range bag since I’ll be avoiding the Internet this weekend. I’m in the middle of re-reading Larry Correia’s Hard Magic, so that’s going, and from the library I have Dan Abnett’s Horus Rising
, the first in a series of novels set in the Warhammer 40K universe.* Abnett comes highly recommended by my friends who are into WH40K, and I did like the hilarious (and horrifying) Ciaphas Cain: Hero of the Imperium
by Sandy Mitchell, so we’ll see how this first novel in the Horus Heresy cycle sits with me. Also recommended was Peter Grant’s War To The Knife
, the first volume of a trilogy; it is free through the Amazon Prime Lending Library, if you’re hooked up with that.
I’m also finally getting around to David Drake and Eric Flint’s Belisarius I: Thunder at Dawn, which combines the first two novels of the Belisarius series (An Oblique Approach and In The Heart Of Darkness) in one volume. This is essentially an alternate history series with a similar premise to Drake & Stirling’s Raj Whitehall novels (see Hope Reborn
) but unlike Center in the Raj Whitehall novels, the entity aiding Belisarius has opposition from a parallel world, which has its own plans for humanity. It looks interesting, and I think I may actually have read the second novel before after mistaking it for Drake’s horror collection From the Heart of Darkness
** so we’ll see how I feel about the rest of it.
Also on the Kindle is some non-fiction, Virginia Postrel’s The Substance of Style, currently on sale for the insanely cheap price of $1.99 (normal list price is $13.99). Postrel argues in this book that appearance counts and esthetic value is real. Postrel is an entertaining writer; her 1998 book The Future and Its Enemies
is an excellent examination of the social and political tensions between “dynamists” and “stasists” that cuts across party lines.
For your amusement: a very short story wherein a Delta Green operative considers some relevant literature. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving! See you Sunday for the FMJRA!
*Since I’m still pissed at Games Workshop over the way they treated Maggie Hogarth over Spots the Space Marine: Defense of the Fiddler, here’s an unsolicited plug for that book, which unusually for combat SF can actually be read by your children.
**Has Cthulhu Mythos content and other creepiness.

Why Ferguson?
Posted on | November 25, 2014 | 123 Comments
Riot police on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri.
“Fox and CNN viewers witnessed a police car, a car dealership and the local Little Caesar’s Pizza set ablaze, a beauticians’ store looted, a McDonald’s with its windows smashed — and ‘Full circle: Liquor store Michael Brown accused of robbing being looted.'”
— Ed Driscoll, Nov. 24, 2014
The grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri, returned a “no bill” against police officer Darren Wilson, and devotees of the slain Saint Michael Brown — a martyr to the Holy Cause, in the eyes of idolators who worship at the Civil Rights altar — engaged in a ritual riot, while the High Priest of Social Justice, Barack Obama, gave a ceremonial press statement.
Why?
That question goes unasked in the wall-to-wall cable TV news coverage. Because I’m up to my eyeballs in a book project, I don’t have time to pay attention to every Major National News Story that comes along, but I’ve spent the past three months wondering, “Why Ferguson?”
I'm hundreds of miles away from Missouri. You're probably hundreds of miles away from Missouri. Why let cable TV tell you what "news" is?
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) November 25, 2014
It’s like Trayvon Martin. The basic idea of that drama was, a black teenager got shot by a white man and this was an injustice.
Of course, black teenagers are shot to death on a daily basis in America, but because they are usually killed by other black teenagers, there is nothing in the death of a young hoodlum of interest to the Civil Rights cult unless the shooter is white (or at least half-white, as it turned out that George Zimmerman’s mother is Hispanic). This cultural phenomenon is so obvious, one hesitates to state it so explicitly: “Civil Rights” has been re-defined to mean “whatever gives black people an excuse to hate white people more than they already do,” and the journalistic establishment is committed to inciting such hatred.
A white person has to be pretty goddamned privileged, if I may borrow that phrase from the social-justice theorists, to pander to professional grievance-mongers in such a blatantly irresponsible manner. You need a degree from an elite college, and a job in media or academia that pays you a handsome salary, in order to be the kind of white person who believes that stoking black anger is beneficial to society, and yet it is clear that many white liberals do believe this.
“In the hands of a skillful indoctrinator, the average student not only thinks what the indoctrinator wants him to think . . . but is altogether positive that he has arrived at his position by independent intellectual exertion. This man is outraged by the suggestion that he is the flesh-and-blood tribute to the success of his indoctrinators.”
– William F. Buckley Jr., Up From Liberalism (1959)
Excuse me for re-using that Buckley quote, but we cannot understand liberalism without recognizing it as an effect of indoctrination.
Why do liberals “think” the way they do? In fact, they don’t actually think at all. Our elite are utterly irrational, like the monkey in the psych lab experiment, pushing the button in the Skinner box to get another hit of cocaine, heedless of the consequences. Our current system of education does not teach facts and skills, it teaches attitudes, and one of the prescribed attitudes is: Black, good; white, bad.
No justice! No peace! Burn and loot and hate police!
— Robert Stacy McCain (@rsmccain) November 25, 2014
Liberalism involves a crude Manichean worldview:
Women, good; men, bad.
Youth, good; adults, bad.
Atheists, good; Christians, bad.
Hedonism, good; responsibility, bad.
Abortion, good; motherhood, bad.
Sodomy, good; normal sex, bad.
Wilderness, good; carbon energy, bad.
Labor unions, good; entrepreneurs, bad.
Government, good; corporations, bad.
Foreigners, good; Americans, bad.
Democrats, good; Republicans, bad.
It is this last distinction — blind loyalty to the Democrat Party — which is the ultimate goal of the attitudinal training we now call “education.” Our government school system annually hands diplomas to teenagers who can barely even read their diplomas, and the bureaucratic mediocrities who run the system don’t care that their “education” teaches kids nothing useful, so long as the student learns to vote Democrat.
What did public schools teach Michael Brown? That it is entirely acceptable to get high on dope, steal from a local convenience store and, when apprehended by a police officer, to resist a lawful arrest:
The governor of Missouri is a Democrat. The mayor of Ferguson is a Democrat. The prosecuting attorney in the case is a Democrat. I’m not sure there were any Republicans on the grand jury that returned a no-bill against Officer Wilson. Yet the media manipulators who are stoking racial rage over this story are doing so with the certain knowledge that, by fomenting anti-white resentments, they are serving the political interests of the Democrat Party.
That’s all it is, nothing more. They should be ashamed of themselves, but if liberals had any sense of shame they would not be liberals.
