Makin’ Stuff Up, Again

Mark Levin insists on a retraction from Politico in response to Jonathan Martin’s Sarah Palin “gotcha” piece:
According to a source familiar with the situation, she backed out of planned interviews with conservative talk-show hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin the morning she was scheduled to talk to them. And her multiple schedule changes so annoyed Glenn Beck that he finally decided not to have her on his radio or TV show to promote the book.
US Constitution Framed In Terms Of Secret Plan

As a part of the ongoing educational efforts of this blog, we provide a table to help unpack the muddled thinking of this DNC ad.
| Muddled Term | Decryption/Advice |
|---|---|
| Secret Plan | U.S. Constitution. Hidden in plain sight the last couple of centuries. Use both hands to find it, subsequent to locating your bottom, Progressives. |
| Right Wing Groups | We The People. Tea Party attendees. Essentially all non-Ruling Class citizens and/or toadies. |
| Buy | Engage in political expression, either through monetary contributions, or engaging in Free Speech, i.e. through blogging, and mocking the living crap out of every wrong-headed piece of tripe emitted by the credentialed but ignorant elite. |
Maybe the DNC is off its meds. An ObamaCare side effect, no doubt. Ray Davies explains:
Please Take Your Poll Numbers and Stick Them Where the Sun Don’t Shine

Having previously discussed combat psychology, let me extend the discussion by saying this:
Stop telling me about damned poll numbers!
One of the basic things about fighting is, once the fight starts, you forget about the odds of victory. If the odds are in your favor, paying too much attention to poll numbers will only encourage hubristic overconfidence. Conversely, if the odds are against you, an obsession with poll numbers can only lead to the inertia and apathy of defeatism.
Always fight as hard as you can. Never let up so long as the fight continues. Fight as if your life depended on the outcome. Do all in your power to achieve victory, for success seldom comes except by an all-out effort, and great odds can only be overcome through relentless focus on the task at hand, without consideration of the likelihood of success.
If winning were easy, everyone would be a winner. Read more
Staff: The Tea Party Express Bus Tour Is Veering North Of Us This Time

The Tea Party Express is rolling through some of the bluest Congressional districts on its fourth trek leading up to the election. What a great job they’ve done the last couple of years, keeping the Tea Party spirit alive.
They can’t make it everywhere, though, and let’s face it: Beltway traffic around DC ain’t beanbag. Whaddaya do? If you’re the first viable VA-8 contender in memory, you tell the cavalry to mount up and get to it:

The bus tour will run from Monday, October 25th to Sunday, October 31st and we need to raise $15,000 in the next five days for the “Drive to Victory Fund”.
Would you like to be a sponsor of the tour?
For a $250 contribution, we’ll put your name on the side of the bus!

I’m looking forward to blogging some of these stops, schedule willing.

Basic Rule of Politics: Never Lose a Friend By Trying to Placate Your Enemies
Posted on | October 21, 2010 | 14 Comments
When it comes to a fight, the only true measure of a friend is, “Will they fight?” Befriending cowardly punks is a waste of time. Say what you will about Pamela Geller, she has never backed away from a fight.
Two weeks ago, the New York Times did a hit piece on Geller that I ignored because (a) it was published while I was on my way to Boston; (b) it mostly recycled old stuff that has been floating around the Internet for months or years; and (c) the article was a smear intended to distract us from the current election campaign.
The New York Times can’t expect my assistance in publicizing an article that includes details from Geller’s divorce settlement and the amount of her late husband’s life insurance policy, details which in context amount to fostering a hateful stereotype: “She’s a rich Jew! She’s rich, rich rich! And, oh, by the way, did we forget to mention she’s a Jew?”
The obvious purpose of such an attack is to discourage people from contributing to the causes Pamela advocates, to create the impression that she is rolling in bucks and doesn’t need or deserve the support of readers.
Had Pamela Geller kept silent, had she avoided controversy or only spoken out in defense of fashionable and popular causes, she would never have been subjected to such shameful treatment. But she keeps fighting when others back away and so she is honored with a hit piece which cites that eminent arbiter of online probity, Charles Johnson: “[W]hen people like Pam Geller are the loudest voices out there talking about it, it drowns out everything else and makes everyone look crazy.”
Yeah. He’s an expert on crazy. Read more

Democrat Demolition Demonstrated

Frank J. delivers the imagery:
So the Democrats sucked. But not just plain old, usual politician sucked, but epic levels of suck where it’s hard to find an analogue in human history that conveys the same level of suckitude. It was sheer incompetence plus arrogance — and those things do not complement each other well. We’re talking sucking that distorts time and space like a black hole.
It’s Godzilla-smashing-through-a-city level of suck — but a really patronizing Godzilla who says you’re just too stupid and hateful to see all the buildings he’s saved or created as he smashes everything apart.
This blog sees that imagery and raises a soundtrack:
Now, if the Dems are Godzilla, does that make all these RINOs a pack of Godzookies?
These are the kinds of things I ponder late at night when I really should be after beauty sleep.
The WaPo Looks Really Bad Over Christine O’Donnell
Posted on | October 20, 2010 | 3 Comments
WaPo,
As a subscriber, one hopes that the correct people are held accountable for this debacle:
http://patterico.com/2010/10/20/wapoap-caught-revising-the-o%E2%80%99donnell-story-without-issuing-a-correction/
Suggestion: man up, do the correct thing, and give Christine O’Donnell a proper interview, post-haste. The media, in general, is engaged in a McCarthyite war against a lawful candidate, and the WaPo ought to be extinguishing, rather than pouring gasoline on the fire.
Regards,
Chris Smith,
Alexandria, VA
In a prompt reply, the WaPo noted that this is an AP story. Also, Ace lowers the boom on Ben Evans. Note to self: do not aggravate Ace.
