#RapeCulture as Propaganda

The idea that America is a rape culture is a particularly vicious big lie, because it brands all men as rapists or rape facilitators. This lie has been successful despite reality. The rate of actual rape is declining. The crime is severely punished, and even an accusation can ruin lives; men who rape are reviled; the social messages on rape delivered regularly to young men are the opposite of encouragement.
Nevertheless, in January 2014, the White House Council on Women and Girls issued a report that stated, “1 in 5 women has been sexually assaulted while in college” . . . A key reason for this amazingly high statistic is that the report significantly expands the definition of rape, and it counts every accusation as true. Since then, the “1 in 5” statistic has gained legs in the media and been used as proof that we live in a rape culture. . . .

Read the whole thing. The whole “rape culture” discourse is about demonizing critics of feminism, an ideology that is anti-male and anti-heterosexual. None of those ranting about “rape culture” are interested in discussing sex crimes committed by women or homosexuals. Feminists especially tend to become hysterical if you call their attention to the existence of lesbian sex offenders.

“Rape culture” is about fomenting a sense of grievance which will empower feminists to silence opposition.

War to the Knife, Knife to the Hilt

Maybe the National Republican Senatorial Committee thought it was a smart move to play the race card against Tea Party challenger Chris McDaniel, but the backlash was overwhelming and it comes at exactly the wrong time for the NRSC’s doomed effort to protect septuagenarian Senator Thad Cochran. Glenn Reynolds, William Jacobson and Vinnie the K were among the many who expressed disgust with the GOP Establishment’s desperation tactics.

With just eight weeks left until the primary, momentum has clearly shifted. A fossil remnant of the Nixonian Epoch, Cochran is incapable of taking on McDaniel directly. Matthew Boyle at Breitbart was clearly impressed with McDaniel’s performance at this weekend’s FreePAC event sponsored by FreedomWorks:

“We’re fighting, and so it begins again,” McDaniel opened his ten-minute speech. “One last great stand for liberty. One last great stand for our Constitution. We dare not disappoint. There’s too much at stake. Our country’s too great to lose and I will not tell my children one day about a once-great Republic that we were unable to save. We will not witness the managed decline of this Republic. We will witness its revival. We will witness its resurrection.” . . .
“We stand here today in defense of that early and original American revolution,” McDaniel said. “What they brought us, what they brought you, was something unprecedented in all of American history—or for that matter, all of world history. They simply did not change the leading cast of characters, replacing one king with another for example, or replacing a king with an oligarchy. They changed your role in your government: they work for you, not the other way around. And yet in Washington, D.C., they have created a political aristocracy. They no longer listen. They have forgotten who they work for. We go to remind them again, and we’re going to remind them again, that’s our obligation. That’s our duty of this generation and we will win this fight, I promise you.”

You’re on target. Fire for effect. The road to unseating Lindsay Graham? That road goes straight through Mississippi, my friends.

If @TaraDublinRocks Didn’t Exist, Would @AmPowerBlog Have to Invent Her?

My friend Donald Douglas may not be the most right-wing professor in California, but he’d certainly be in contention for the prize. In fact, I’m reasonably sure that a majority of university administrators in California would outlaw Professor Douglas’s American Power blog as a “hate crime,” if they could. (“Damn that First Amendment!”)

After Professor Douglas called out the “Tolerance Gestapo” — and some poor fool’s attempt to play ball with the the Gay Mafia shakedown — he found himself in a bizarre Twitter battle with somebody named Tara Dublin. She started out by claiming that Donald was trying to “bait” her, and next thing you know, she went off on a rant that is a classic example of the Last Word Syndrome typical of liberals who presume themselves to be our intellectual and moral superiors.

Of course, I had to throw some gasoline on the burning witch:

Vichy GOP Skullduggery

“Maybe you say it helps (Obamacare), but it really helps the small businessman,” said Rep. Phil Roe, R-Tenn., one of several physician-lawmakers among Republicans and an advocate of repeal.
No member of the House GOP leadership has publicly hailed the fix, which was tucked, at Republicans’ request, into legislation preventing a cut in payments to doctors who treat Medicare patients.
It is unclear how many members of the House rank and file knew of it because the legislation was passed by a highly unusual voice vote without debate.

Ah, the “Doc Fix”. Coburn was an apologist of sorts for the idea:

“If you vote for this bill that’s on the floor today, you’re part of the problem. You’re not part of the solution,” Coburn said. “It’s a sham, it’s a lie. The pay-fors aren’t true. It’s nothing but gimmicks. It’s corruptible. There’s no integrity in what we’re getting ready to vote on.”

The only real question remaining is whether conservatives have been foolish in trying to reform the GOP in some way, and restore it to some sort of useful state. I’m very slightly biased in favor of that sentiment, but increasingly wonder if this GOP dog can still hunt at all.

And the development I’m referring to isn’t the broadening support for same-sex marriage, which a clear majority of Americans now favor. No, I’m referring to the fact that in a great many circles, endorsement of same-sex marriage has rather suddenly become nonnegotiable. Expected. Assumed. Proof of a baseline level of enlightenment and humanity. Akin to the understanding that all people, regardless of race or color, warrant the same rights and respect.

Even beyond these circles, the debate is essentially over, in the sense that the trajectory is immutable and the conclusion foregone. Everybody knows it, even the people who still try to stand in the way. The legalization of same-sex marriage from north to south and coast to coast is merely a matter of time, probably not much of it at that.

No one is denying any individuals respect, unless they are named Brendan Eich.

Basic falsehoods, e.g. 2+2=5, remain unacceptable. What has changed is that common sense has suffered a setback. As a part of societal collapse, you can keep useful traditions like you keep your doctor.

What the liars will be shocked to discover is that this “victory” is useless. Calling their pet Yorkies “children” does not offspring make. Meanwhile, the un-confused will continue to raise actual children, and teach them the truth.

This falsehood is as transient as a campaign promise, and the judgement will come down, on us as it did on the Israelites. Lord, have mercy.

Lesbian Hockey Coach, 39, Gets Year in Jail for Molesting 15-Year-Old Girl

Lesbian sexual predator Heidi Ferber.

Heidi Ferber had competed in hockey all across North America and Europe, but left the sport after suffering too many concussions. In 2010, she became assistant coach to a girls’ hockey team in the Canadian province of British Columbia. The head coach of the team was Alex Petrie, whose daughter Chanelle played on the team:

The player and assistant coach struck up a friendship, Ferber becoming a mentor both on and off the ice.
Within two months, Ferber began sexually preying on the 15-year-old during hockey road trips and secret encounters carefully hidden from Petrie’s parents. . . .
[At a February court hearing] Crown prosecutor Don Mann outlined circumstances of what started as friendship and swiftly changed due to Ferber’s aggressive sexual demands. . . .
Mann said Petrie was confused about her sexuality at the time, something exploited by Ferber. . . .
The pair kissed about a month-and-a-half after meeting. By November 2010, Ferber was making sexual advances on Petrie.
During the season and into mid-2011, the two had what Mann characterized as “countless sexual encounters.”

So, the 39-year-old lesbian coach made “aggressive sexual demands” on a 15-year-old girl who “was confused about her sexuality.”

Ferber was convicted and last week was sentenced to one year in jail.

One year — what if Ferber had been a male coach or teacher who had “countless sexual encounters” with a 15-year-old? One year?

Ferber’s defense attorney “characterized Ferber as an emotionally unstable and previously closeted gay woman who suffered from concussions and epilepsy that clouded her judgement.”

Oh, so it’s OK to have sex with a 15-year-old if you’re an “emotionally unstable” closet case with a history of head injuries? Then why not just turn loose all the  lunatics at the psych ward and give them directions to the nearest high school? Those schizos can’t be blamed for what happens — they’re “emotionally unstable,” after all.

The one ray of sunshine in this otherwise sordid tale is Chanelle Petrie. With the support of her parents, the 18-year-old survivor is now playing college hockey and actually appealed to the Canadian court to lift a ban on publishing her identity as a victim.

Chanelle Petrie was victimized by lesbian predator.

Petrie . . . says she wanted the publication ban
lifted because she wants other young people who have
faced abuse to know that it’s OK to speak out.
“You don’t have to be ashamed of yourself.
You did nothing wrong. That’s a huge message that
I think really needs to be put out there,” she said.

By the way, do you know how Ferber got caught?

Court heard that in 2011, the girl wrote a poem containing suicidal references.
In early 2012, she told her mother what was going on and the two went to police.

Chanelle contemplated suicide because of those “countless sexual encounters” with Heidi Ferber. Think about that.
