Good News From California

Kristopher Julian Baca Jr.

Say hello to 17-year-old Kristopher Baca and, while you’re at it, go ahead and say good-bye, because this juvenile dirtbag is no longer depleting the earth’s supply of oxygen. You’ve never heard his name before, but you may remember a case that made national headlines last year:

A Los Angeles mom mowed down with her baby by a hit-and-run teen driver who was given just five months in a youth camp has lashed out at soft-on-crime District Attorney George Gascón during an early-release hearing — as she also revealed she is hightailing it out of the state due to fear.
“Nobody in the room actually believes that (the suspect) is a good kid,” the furious woman, identified as Rachel, said in a call into an LA County courtroom in Lancaster, Fox News reported.
“Look at what he did. Nobody changes who they are to the core in four months,” she complained.
The 16-year-old driver was ordered in June to participate in a diversionary program at a juvenile probation camp over the August 2021 incident involving a stolen car.
Shocking surveillance video showed the teen plowing directly into Rachel as she pushed her 8-month-old son in his stroller down a Venice street the morning of Aug. 6.

That juvenile car thief was Kristopher Baca. He was already on probation at the time for trying to drug a girl’s drink, “roofie,” as they call it. And yet, after an offense that was clearly attempted murder, Gascon’s office treated Baca as if he were guilty of nothing more than a traffic offense, and he walked out free after just a few months in what was basically summer camp. Oh, but karma is always the proverbial bitch:

A Los Angeles-area teenager who ran over a mother walking her child in a stroller in Venice in 2021 and received just a few months of diversionary camp as punishment was gunned down in Palmdale [Jan. 19], according to FOX News.
Kristopher Baca, 17, of Palmdale was found fatally shot on Wednesday on a driveway in the 38600 block of 11th Street East, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
FOX 11 had not previously identified Baca in connection with the Venice hit-and-run due to his age. He pleaded guilty in the hit-and-run case last year.
The Los Angeles County Coroner-Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Baca’s death Friday but said the examination was still pending. At this time, there is no indication that his death is connected to the hit-and-run case, and no suspect description was available.
Sources close to the investigation told FOX News that he had been at a fast food restaurant earlier trying to “get with a girl.”
“As he walked home alone, a car pulled up next to him and an argument broke out. Someone in the vehicle opened fire, then sped off,”
FOX News reported.

This is a sort of moral lesson that should be taught to children, the Parable of the Teenage Dirtbag, so that they learn what happens to young people who go astray. Even if they happen to be living in a car-thief’s paradise like L.A. where the District Attorney is objectively pro-crime, sooner of later that Big Wheel o’ Karma in the Sky is gonna turn, and the worthless punk will find himself bleeding out in somebody’s driveway.

Not since Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald has a murder victim’s death been less lamentable. Everybody in America is happy that Kristopher Baca got gunned down, a nearly ideal outcome. (I say “nearly ideal” because, without naming names, there are some people in California who deserve to die more than Baca did, IYKWIMAITYD.)

NFL Star: ‘Hey, New York Taxes Suck!’

Buffalo Bills strong safety Jordan Poyer is one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. If you’re a quarterback going up against the Bills, your first read is to figure out where Poyer is, and then throw the ball somewhere else. (Just ask Lamar Jackson what happens if you throw it near Poyer.) When he signed a contract extension with the Bills three years ago, it was worth $9.7 million a year, but this year, Poyer’s a free agent, and it doesn’t seem likely he’ll be sticking around Buffalo:

When discussing where he would like to play, money was a major factor for Poyer. Last year, he made $5.6 million, but was open about how he felt on the taxes that were taken from that number.
“A lot of people ask me, ‘Oh, if it wasn’t Buffalo, where would you go?’ I kind of ponder the question every once in a while,” Poyer said . . . “I would love to go to a state that doesn’t take half my money. It’s crazy to me how taxes work. Some people will say, ‘You’re already making X amount of money.’ Taxes play a big part in all of our lives.”
In 2022, New York had the highest tax burden in the country at 12.75 percent, according to CNBC. Poyer made more in 2022 than he did with his 2019, 2020 and 2021 salaries combined, and the impact of the taxes was clearly felt by the safety.
If he wants a place without state income tax, there are multiple locations with no income tax and an NFL team that could be options.

Tennessee (Titans), Nevada (Las Vegas Raiders), Texas (Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans), and most of all Florida (Jacksonville Jaguars, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Miami Dolphins) would seem the most promising relocation spots for Poyer, if avoiding state income taxes is his top priority in free agency. Because I’m a Patriots fan, I’d prefer Poyer to exit the AFC East, so scratch Miami off the list, and frankly it would be better if he left the AFC altogether, which eliminates the Titans, the Raiders, the Texans and the Jags. Looking at the 2023 Patriots schedule, I see they’ve got an away game at Dallas, so therefore the ideal location for Poyer is Tampa Bay. Best wishes, Bucs fans! Certainly, there’s no hope that Poyer would consider an offer from New England, because the People’s Republic of Taxachusetts is scarcely better than New York.

News From Gwinnett County, Georgia

Before proceeding to the latest news, this seems like a convenient opportunity for me to remind you that that you can purchase a 7-horsepower wood chipper from Amazon for $659 through our associates program, which pays me a modest commission on all products purchased through our affiliated links, at no cost to you. And you might say to yourself, “What would I do with a 7-horsepower wood chipper?” Trust me, it could come in handy, and you might soon decide you need one.

Missing teen rescued from suspected
sex traffickers at Gwinnett Walmart

Three men are in jail and a 14-year-old is back home after police say they arrested human traffickers at a Gwinnett County Walmart.
Police say the men trafficked the teen for nearly two weeks.
Not everyone can spot a human trafficking victim out in public.
Lawrenceville police say one of their officers did just that when he rescued the 14-year-old from three men accused of trafficking her.
“They don’t cry out for help,” said Camila Zolfaghari, executive director at Street Grace, which helps victims of human trafficking in the metro. “It’s a great sign that this officer clearly had been trained to look for signs, look for signs of trafficking.”
Zolfaghari said it’s common for traffickers to manipulate their victims.
“Usually, they try to protect their trafficker because their traffickers told them, ‘Hey, if you tell them what’s going on, you’re going to get in trouble,’” Zolfaghari said.
On Wednesday night, Lawrenceville police responded to a call at the Walmart on Collins Hill Road about a child in distress.
Police said the officers figured out that the 14-year-old is a victim and was reported as a missing person out of Cobb County.
Investigators arrested three men and say they forced the girl into prostitution for 13 days inside of an apartment on Maddox Street. . . .
Police say the girl has been returned to Cobb County where she can get physical and emotional help.
The three men remain in jail with no bond.

Why are they being held on no bond? Perhaps because if they get turned loose, they might have a tragic accident involving a wood chipper.

Is Georgia Anti-Trump Grand Jury Forewoman Literally a Witch?

Everybody is talking about the weird media tour by the forewoman of the Atlanta grand jury that was investigating President Trump’s dispute of the 2020 election results in Georgia. This investigation is evidently based on the theory that a candidate who believes he was cheated in an election must be guilty of some kind of crime if he attempts to rectify the alleged cheating. And it’s part of a pattern that Tucker Carlson correctly discerned, i.e., that “partisan prosecutors at all levels, state and federal, are trying to prevent [Trump] from running for president again.” Or to quote Lavrentiy Beria: “Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime.”

Enter, stage left, 30-year-old Emily Kohrs, whose identity was first revealed by the Associated Press, “who has described herself as between customer service jobs and who said she didn’t vote in the 2020 presidential election.” Her appearance in a series of televised interviews has provoked dismay among liberals, who understand that having this giggling fool as the foreman of the grand jury creates grounds for Trump’s lawyers to get any possible indictments quashed.

For some reason, I was under the impression that only the most respectable citizens were chosen to serve on grand juries, but I was apparently mistaken, and Fulton County’s Democratic district attorney, Fani Willis, picked this jury from a randomly selected pool of Fulton County residents. That this grand jury would choose Emily Kohrs as their forewoman — well, what does that tell you?

Everybody has noted the weirdness of this woman with the off-her-meds mannerisms, but what about her interest in witchcraft?

I’M NOT KIDDING, PEOPLE!

Internet sleuths dug up a Pinterest account apparently belonging to Emily Kohrs, which includes two pages crammed with posts about witchcraft, astrology, tarot, crystals, herbs — the usual kooky wicca/pagan stuff that such Seekers of Arcane Knowledge pursue.

(Hat-tip: Gateway Pundit and Stephen Green at Instapundit.)

To many Millennial/Gen Z types, such an interest may not seem particularly odd — all kinds of people are into all kinds of things on social media — but what are the odds that, in choosing a grand jury to investigate the former President of the United States, this kooky young wicca woman would be chosen? Doesn’t this suggest non-random factors may have influenced the jury selection process?

Well, I’m sure Trump’s lawyers must have had a laugh — “WINNING!” — as they got to work on their motions to void the grand jury’s findings, but isn’t this a sad example of what’s wrong with America’s justice system?

Aspiring Rapper Update: 27 Years in Federal Prison for Sex Trafficking

Aryion Jackson, a/k/a “Yung Corleon”

You can’t spell Houston without “ho,” and Ariyon Jackson specialized in providing the supply to meet the demand:

The judge responsible for sentencing a man who pled guilty to child sex trafficking called his crimes “horrific” but she also said she was “struggling over what the right sentence should be.”
She ultimately sentenced Aryion Jackson, who was an aspiring rapper, to 27 years in prison.
Jackson, according to court testimony, kept 12 girls and women in a house in Houston and trafficked them for sex, forcing them to earn $1,000 a day using drugs, threats, and beatings to get them to comply.

The victims of this “aspiring rapper” were as young as 14, and how many clients did Jackson’s victims have to service in order to yield the required $1,000 daily revenue? “According to court documents, they would work on Bissonnet in Houston, and they would perform sex acts for $100 to $300 each.” So if they got $100 per trick, they had to turn 10 tricks a day to make the minimum, which might mean having sex with more than 200 men per month, and Jackson was forcing girls as young as 14 to do this. “Horrific,” indeed. It is suspected that one of his victims was Kristen Galvan, who was only 15 when she was first arrested turning tricks on Bissonett Street in Houston. She was returned home to her family, but disappeared a few weeks later in January 2020.

Her mother, Robyn Cory, says there have been no new leads on Kristen’s whereabouts and, even as he was being sentenced to 27 years in federal prison, Jackson claimed he didn’t know where she was.

More details from the federal prosecutor’s office:

Jackson is a documented gang member [whose] image appeared on a wanted billboard for aggravated sexual assault. He also had numerous Instagram accounts. In one, he discussed being a pimp and posted images of himself with money and guns.
While in custody, Jackson continued to control several victims through phone calls. He was also caught with cell phones and drugs.

Yeah, while in jail awaiting trial, he was still pimping. But now that he’s going to federal prison, he thinks he’s the victim:

In court [Feb. 14], Jackson cried as he apologized to his victims, and their families, he told the judge he “never had a fair chance in life” and asked the judge for mercy. . . .
Aryion Jackson asked the judge for leniency because of his childhood. [His father Steven] Jackson admits his son’s upbringing was troubling with parents often in prison and according to the judge, Jackson’s mom was a prostitute who was addicted to drugs.
“Yes, I did three terms in and out of prison,” [Steven Jackson] said. “I myself was a product of the crack era. I got influenced early and had him young,” . . .
Aryion Jackson’s mother is also charged with sex trafficking. Her trial begins Wednesday.

So, a drug addict and a prostitute have a child who grows up to become a vicious pimp, but when this leads him to prison — where vicious pimps belong — he cries to the judge that he “never had a fair chance in life.” However, “Yung Corleon” wasn’t crying when he was flashing guns and cash on Instagram, forcing teenage girls to walk the streets turning tricks to supply him with $1,000 a day. And we still don’t know what happened to Kristen Galvan, so spare us the crybaby act, Mr. Aspiring Rapper.

UPDATE: On Instagram, Jackson’s handle was @AryDaMFCrip — which is to say “Ary the [Obscenity] Crip,” and he boasted of association with the “Gas Gang” of East Houston. In 2021, three members of the “Gas Gang,” Morgan Kanu-Bradley, Avery James, and DeAnthony Doucet, were sentenced to federal prison for an attack on undercover drug agents:

On Feb. 17, 2019, undercover federal agents had arranged to purchase narcotics from Doucet at a hotel in Houston. There, Kanu-Bradley, James and Doucet held the agents at gunpoint and stole the money they had for the transaction as well as one of their firearms and phone. The men also beat and stomped on one of agents while he was held at gunpoint.
Afterwards, Kanu-Bradley, James and Doucet all fled the scene. Other authorities on the scene pursued and arrested them.

“AryDaMFCrip” was proud to be part of this crew, and of course, he filled his Instagram profile with pictures like this:

Think about how he got that money.

Now think about him crying in the courtroom.

Cruel and Unusual: Gay Activist Couple Allegedly Pimped Out Adopted Boys

William and Zachary Zulock with their victims

When this arrest was first reported last August, I headlined my post “We Were Told This Would Never Happen,” because the media want us to believe that there is no such thing as a gay pedophile. The facts, however, disagree with the media. The U.S. Constitution forbids “cruel and unusual punishment,” but if Georgia officials just sentence these two to prison, their fellow inmates probably won’t be constrained by that:

A gay couple from Georgia charged with molesting their two adopted sons and using them to record child porn also allegedly pimped them out to members of a local pedophile ring, according to a disturbing new report.
A months-long investigation by Townhall revealed that William Dale Zulock, 33, and Zachary Jacoby Zulock, 35, allegedly used social media to prostitute their two elementary-aged sons.
William Zulock, a government worker, and Zachary Zulock, a banker, were indicted in August 2022 on charges of incest, aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation, felony sexual exploitation of children and felony prostitution of a minor.
But the shocking investigation reveals in more detail the sickening abuse the boys suffered.
For the first time, it was revealed that the men allegedly pimped out their older sons, now 11 and 9 years old, to two other men in a pedophile ring.
One of the men, Hunter Clay Lawless, 27, told investigators that Zachary — whose Instagram bio describes him as “Papa to our two wonderful boys” and an “activist” — invited him “multiple times” to take part in sexually abusing the boys, Townhall reported.
Lawless also claimed Zachary sent him multiple messages on Snapchat, including one that allegedly read, “I’m going to f— my son tonight. Stand by,” along with images of himself sexually abusing the 11-year-old, according to the outlet.
The two men were arrested on charges of soliciting an act of prostitution with the 11-year-old boy, according to the indictment. It’s unclear whether Lawless and Armando Vizcarro-Sanchez had any physical interactions with the boys.
The Zulocks — who lived in Oxford, an affluent suburb of Atlanta — adopted the children from a Christian special-needs adoption agency. The boys were in the third and fourth grades when their adoptive fathers were arrested last summer.
Deputies responding to reports that a man was downloading child porn raided the home in Loganville, where they found evidence the pair “were engaging in sexually abusive acts and video documenting this abuse,” police said at the time.
During the raid, William was pulled out of his home naked.
The government worker has admitted to forcing one of his sons to perform oral sex on him “with the intent to satisfy his own … sexual desire,” according to a sworn affidavit cited by the Daily Wire.

Phrases like “alleged” and “according to a sworn affidavit” are necessary in journalism, but let’s not waste much effort about that whole “presumed innocence” business, because when child molesters record video of their crimes, this tends to make conviction a near-certainty. Gosh, it sure would be a shame if anything bad happened to these two gay activists between now and the time they are convicted and sentenced to prison in Georgia, because it’s more or less guaranteed that much worse things will happen to them after they’re sent to prison.

Ukraine Joe Ignores Ohio

Ohio is Trump country, so screw ’em. This has been the general Democrat attitude toward the residents of East Palestine, Ohio, dealing with the catastrophic train derailment, a story being deliberately ignored by the stenographers of the liberal media. Oh, but Ukraine Joe’s so presidential!

President Biden made a surprise, hourslong visit to Kyiv on Monday, pledging the United States’ “unwavering commitment” to supporting Ukraine in a dramatic show of resolve almost one year into Russia’s full-scale invasion.
Mr. Biden rode 10 hours by train from the Polish border to arrive in the Ukrainian capital on Monday morning. As air-raid sirens sounded, Mr. Biden strolled in the sunshine with President Volodymyr Zelensky and announced $500 million in additional military aid for Ukraine during a joint news conference at which he recalled the beginning of the invasion last Feb. 24. “One year later, Kyiv stands,” Mr. Biden said. “And Ukraine stands. Democracy stands.”

“Here’s $500,000,000, Volodymyr! Screw those people in Ohio!”

Armed Self-Defense in Dallas

This happened in December, but the police took a while to complete their investigation and make arrests, so we’re just now getting a detailed account of what happened:

There are a lot of new details about how a recent attempted carjacking of a luxury car went down in an upscale area of Dallas.
Police arrested the three suspects they were looking for, and court documents detail a good lead police had.
One suspect showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound minutes after the attempted carjacking and shootout last December.
Police say he was shot by a friend of the Maserati owner they were trying to carjack.
Three men have now been arrested for their alleged roles in a shootout and botched attempted carjacking at a popular shopping center off Lovers Lane around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 30. . . .
Dallas police say three people were leaving dinner at Odelay Tex-Mex when 21-year-old Lequezio Dade, 19-year-old Kylan Owens and 21-year-old Anthony Primers approached them.
According to an arrest affidavit, “Dade used a rifle held horizontally to violently shove one of the men backward while demanding the keys to his Maserati and his wallet.”
There was a struggle. Dade fired once. Then, someone with the victim fired their gun at the suspects, but “Dade returned fire, discharging several rounds into a busy parking lot.”
Then, the suspects took off in a grey Acura RLX.
In a car matching that description, Dade was dropped off at Methodist Dallas Medical Center minutes after the shootout, according to the affidavit. He’d been shot in the leg.
While at the hospital, Dade told Dallas police he was shot during a drive-by shooting at a Fiesta Market off MLK Boulevard near Fair Park. However, according to the affidavit, investigators say there were no 911 calls made to this area about a drive-by.
No calls from Dade or anyone else. They say that’s uncommon.
Also, while in the hospital, investigators say Dade told police he did not want to pursue any charges against whoever may have shot him in a drive-by shooting. It’s safe to say police were not buying his story.
According to the affidavit, a geofence search warrant identified three cell phones present at both the shooting scene and hospital at times consistent with the investigation. Those phones belonged to Dade, Owens and Primers.
Primers was found to own a 2016 Acura RLX matching the suspect vehicle.
Police located Primers’ car. It had been repossessed, but it had blood in the back seat consistent with where Dade, who was shot, was riding.
Primers and Dade were arrested on Jan. 12. Owens was arrested on Friday [Feb. 10].
“Just because you’re not hearing something might be happening in a particular case doesn’t mean that there’s work that’s not being done behind the scenes, and that was being done here,” said Kristin Lowman with the Dallas Police Department. “Detectives take time. They gather that evidence. They identify the suspects, and they build a case to make those arrests.”

This attempted carjacking happened, as they say, “in an upscale area” on the north side of Dallas, which shows that there is no such thing as a “safe” neighborhood in 21st-century America. Who knows what might have happened had it not been for the fact that the Maserati owner’s friend was armed? Permit me to recommend two books by my friend Robert Waters, The Best Defense: True Stories of Intended Victims Who Defended Themselves with a Firearm and Guns Save Lives: True Stories of Americans Defending Their Lives With Firearms.

It is unfortunate that civilization has collapsed to the point that no one is safe unless they’re carrying a pistol, but we must live in the world as it is, rather than that fantasy world where “safe” neighborhoods still exist.
