The “debate” over gun control is never actually a debate. Democrats keep trying to take our guns away, and we keep saying, “Hell, no!”

Enter Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf:

Two important points to make about this:

A. He’s lying,
but
B. He’s a Democrat, so what else do we expect?

The graphic explains the process of red flag laws like this: Jane sees a Facebook friend, Randy, post “photos of guns and cryptic messages.” She then reports him to the police. (Holy escalation!)
The police then petition a judge to “temporarily” remove Randy’s Second Amendment rights. Police provide “evidence” (seemingly a cryptic Facebook post in this scenario) that Randy is a threat to himself or others. The court agrees to temporarily take away Randy’s rights.
Kumbaya. The justice system is perfect. Nothing to see here.
Come on . . .
Can you imagine how overrun our courts would be if every left-wing Karen could report people for merely owning guns and not liking their government? We have an environment where people are being told speech is violence and where a not insignificant part of the population believes they are justified in “canceling” someone for simply holding differing political views.
We already knew that the red flag law system is ripe for abuse. But Tom Wolf just proved our point all over again.

Tom Wolf is term-limited and can’t seek re-election, and the Democrats have nominated attorney general Josh Shapiro for governor. But the latest Pennsylvania poll shows Shapiro with just a 4-point lead (44%-40%) over Republican Doug Mastriano, and Biden’s favorability is now 10 points underwater in a state he allegedly won by 80,000 votes. Pushing “red flag” laws is unlikely to improve matters for the Democrats in Pennsylvania, where everybody has watched as George Soros-funded DA Larry Krasner turns loose criminals in Philadelphia. And would you care to guess who has given money to Josh Shapiro’s campaign?

How to Get Shot by the Cops

This story is a perfect example of how the media undermines law enforcement by giving voice to bogus criticism, especially in cases like this one in Florida, where an armed felon was shot by sheriff’s deputies investigating a string of crimes in the community. Simply because the suspect is black, many in the media seem to believe, he must be a victim of injustice, and the police must be in the wrong. Therefore, the TV cameras seek out the suspect’s family or a “civil rights” activist or, as in this case, the suspect’s lawyer, to condemn the cops, no matter what the circumstances were that led to the shooting. Watching the video of this incident doesn’t give you the necessary knowledge to understand what happened, or why it happened. Once you do understand it, however, it becomes impossible to deny that the person responsible for this 19-year-old suspect getting shot was — wait for it — the 19-year-old suspect.

Say hello to Jamall Frederick. According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO), the events that led to him getting shot were as follows: Deputies were investigating a homicide that happened Thursday in the Gifford community. In the wee hours of Saturday morning, deputies responded to a report of shots fired a few blocks away. Subsequent investigation (i.e., surveillance camera video) gave them a description of a vehicle suspected of involvement in that incident. The same vehicle was also connected to a number of burglaries, including burglaries of vehicles in which firearms were stolen. Thus, the deputies had reason to believe that the occupants of this vehicle were armed and dangerous. So they began monitoring the area in which the shots fired incident had occurred. About 9 p.m. that evening, deputies spotted the suspect vehicle, and that’s when the incident occurred.

 

As I say, just watching the video doesn’t add much to your knowledge of what happened, because it happened very quickly at night. One of the deputies saw the pistol in the back seat next to Frederick and told him not to reach for it. He grabbed it and ran, and they opened fire, and it’s something of a miracle that Frederick survived the shooting.

Civilians may ask, “Why did they shoot? He was running away.” Yes, but he had a gun in his hand. Are cops just supposed to let an armed fugitive run free in the community? And what are the chances that Frederick would have turned around and shot any deputy who pursued him? There’s no rule that requires cops to let bad guys get the first shot.

Frederick is from Fort Pierce, 18 miles away from the scene of the shooting. The deputies also found another gun in the car and arrested 18-year-old Zbryius Jones of Vero Beach. Both guns were stolen, one from South Vero and the other from Fellsmere. Frederick was a convicted felon on probation, and Jones was also charged with violating probation. Sheriff Eric Flowers said: “These guys are countywide criminals. We will not tolerate known felons endangering our community. Our community expects us to prevent crimes and keep them safe.”

There has been much critical attention directed toward rampant crime in Democrat-controlled cities like Los Angeles, where Soros-sponsored District Attorney George Gascon is being blamed for releasing a felon who shot and killed two police officers. You don’t have problems like that in Indian River County, which has not voted for a Democrat in a presidential election since 1944, and which went 60% for Trump twice.

The media can (and should) help fight crime by discarding the anti-cop bias that treats all critics of the police as inherently legitimate. It is one thing — and a very important thing — to expose genuine abuse or corruption by the police, but it’s a whole ’nother thing to portray cops as racist villains when they’re just doing their job.




 

‘Far-Right Extremists’ Alert!

Readers may be wondering, what have “far-right extremists” been up to lately? Torching synagogues? Assassinating opponents? Advocating genocide? No, they’ve been “storming” a public library in California:

Drag queen speaks out after far-right extremists storm children’s event at Bay Area library

SAN LORENZO, Calif. (KGO) — A children’s story time turned into a nightmare Saturday afternoon at the San Lorenzo library.
Bay Area drag queen, Panda Dulce, was co-hosting a kids’ reading event in celebration of Pride Month when suddenly the unthinkable happened.

(Because I’m an old guy who has never been to Alameda County, maybe it’s just me, but why isn’t letting your kids hang out with drag queens the truly “unthinkable” part?)

“Eight to ten Proud Boys marched in with their cameras blazing, point at me, jeering from the back,” Dulce said.

(A “nightmare” in the Bay Area — normal people show up!)

A group of men believed to be affiliated with the far-right extremist Proud Boys group stormed the event.
They made white power hand gestures as they began hurtling homophobic and transphobic insults at Dulce.
“They said who brought the tranny. It’s a groomer. It’s a pedophile. Why do you bring your kids to this event,” Dulce said.
Dulce was then escorted by security away from the men, and law enforcement was called.
The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office says they’re investigating the incident and have activated their hate crime protocols.

(Shoplifting is legal in California. You can defecate on the sidewalk and shoot up heroin in public parks. But cause a disturbance during “Drag Queen Story Hour”? Unthinkable! The sheriff’s department have “activated their hate crime protocols,” whatever that means.)

[“Panda Dulce” is] calling on all those opposed to stand up to extremism.
“I think now is the time to unite and to come together as a united front,” Dulce said.
Not just for her, but also for the children.
Dulce, who is Ivy League educated and has over a decade’s experience in social work says, many of them were terrified.
“I don’t want to hurt you. I just want to tell you a story. That’s it. I just want to tell you a story,” said Dulce.
The event has come under heavy scrutiny from both local leaders, as well as the San Lorenzo library.
“I really believe that libraries are places where everyone is welcome. We are open to every member of our community, and we can’t be bowed or intimidated by these kinds of threats. This is not what we’re going to stand for,” said Alameda County Librarian, Cindy Chadwick.
And while it’s left it’s mark on Dulce, “A lot of people are asking me like, do you feel safe? Are you okay? And the answer is no, I don’t. I don’t feel safe in my own home,” she said.

This person went to an Ivy League university and their idea of a fun Saturday activity is dressing up in drag to prance around in front of small children at the local library. Which should give you an idea of what an Ivy League education is worth. Have I mentioned lately that Ted Kaczynski was a Harvard alumnus? But the whole point of this TV “news” story seems to be that anyone who doesn’t enthusiastically support Drag Queen Story Hour is an “extremist.” Don’t like it? You’re literally Hitler!

 

“I don’t feel safe in my own home,” says the drag queen, because of those “far-right extremists” at the local library. But don’t worry, Bay Area parents — police are fighting to guarantee that drag queens can safely access your children. The “hate crime protocols” have been activated!




 

He Was Yelling About His ‘Rights’

David Ware’s first arrest as an adult was when he was 18. He was drunk and urinating in a parking lot. When cops arrested him, Ware “became ‘extremely belligerent’ and [Officer Craig] Johnson and his backup officer opted to call for a special prisoner transport van rather than take Ware to jail in one of their patrol cars”:

The backup officer wrote that as they waited, Ware kicked at and threatened to harm Johnson, spitting on the officer at least four times.
“Officer Johnson told the subject that if he continued to spit on him and kick at him, that he would use pepper spray. Officer Johnson warned the subject of this at least three times before he sprayed him,” the backup officer wrote in his report . . .
“After being sprayed, the subject continued to kick at Officer Johnson and tried to get up. The subject also continued to threaten violent acts upon Officer Johnson saying that he was going to kill Officer Johnson.”

Well, he did. Fourteen years later, Tulsa police officer Aurash Zarkeshan pulled over Ware who was driving at 3 a.m. with an expired tag, no drivers’ license and no proof of insurance. Zarkeshan ran Ware’s name through the system and realized that he was dealing with a career criminal. Ware, 32, had been repeatedly arrested in the years since that public intoxication case when he was 18 — harboring a fugitive from justice, knowingly concealing stolen property, unauthorized use of a vehicle, domestic assault and battery, larceny, possession of burglary tools and, of course, drug charges. Criminal lowlifes always gotta have their dope, man. So when you pull one of these scumbags over for a traffic violation, it’s never really a “routine” traffic stop. They’ve always got dope, and maybe they’re on parole or probation, so getting caught with dope will send them back to prison. The criminal lowlife knows this, which gives him a motive to flee or resist arrest. Officer Zarkeshan decided to call for backup, and that’s what brought Sgt. Craig Johnson to the scene — yes, the same Craig Johnson that Ware had threatened to kill 14 years earlier. “I know my rights! . . . You’re violating my rights!”

Next time you’re watching video where an officer shoots a suspect who’s resisting arrest, remember this worthless punk, David Ware.

See, he had drugs in the car, so when the officer tells him to step out of the car — they’re going to tow it, because of the expired tag, etc. — Ware starts whining about his “rights” being violated. But nobody has a “right” to drive an unlicensed vehicle, and when the officer in such a situation tells a suspect to step out of the car, that’s called a lawful order.

Failure to comply with lawful order or directive of law enforcement officer is a misdemeanor under Oklahoma law. If you’re pulled over for a traffic violation — in this case, having an expired tag — you do not have a “right” to argue with the cop when he tells you to step out of the car. A lot of people apparently don’t understand how this works, and I wish something could be done about this widespread ignorance. Our public schools are obviously doing a bad job of educating young people about the law, but wouldn’t you think that, in the instructional process to qualify for a driver’s license, states could do some teaching about this subject? When you see the blue lights in your rearview mirror, pull over. Keep your hands where the officer can see them. If the officer tells you to step out of the car, you are required by law to comply with that order.

As the guys at Active Self Protection explain in the video, the police officers in this case made the mistake of giving David Ware too many chances after he failed to comply with a lawful order. He wasn’t just trying to talk his way out of a ticket, as anyone might do, but was trying to obstruct the officers’ investigation because he knew (a) he had meth in the car and (b) he was a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Over and over: “You’re violating my rights!”

Back at his apartment, as the investigation subsequently revealed, David Ware had more dope — he was dealing it — and more guns, and he had a list of people who owed him money for the dope he was dealing.

Permit me to remind the reader how all those “libertarians” told us that if we would just legalize marijuana, that would solve the problem. It wasn’t the drugs that were the problem, they told us, it was the laws against drugs that were the problem. So what now? Are we going to legalize meth, coke, heroin? Because it turns out — as I could have told anyone who had bothered to ask — that drug dealers are going to keep dealing, no matter what you do. See, some people are just criminals by habit and inclination. You legalize marijuana? Fine, they’ll start dealing meth or heroin or whatever. Because the one thing they are definitely not going to do is to start obeying the law. They’re not going to seek out legitimate employment. No, ma’am, they want that easy money.

Where did David Ware get the idea his “rights” were being violated by the police? Well, this traffic stop happened in June 2020 — in the immediate aftermath of the George Floyd riots. But nobody cares about a white criminal getting hassled by the cops, and when Officer Zarkeshan and Sgt. Johnson finally got tired of arguing with Ware, they used a taser and pepper spray, finally got him out of the car and — BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! He pulled his pistol and shot both of them.

Sgt. Johnson died and Officer Zarkeshan barely survived. Ware was convicted of murder, attempted murder and other charges after a trial in April. Prosecutors didn’t even offer a plea bargain — you’re a cop killer, don’t expect any leniency, at least not in Oklahoma.

Last month, a judge signed Ware’s death warrant.

After Ware was arrested in 2020, the local media interviewed his “father” — I use the term in quote marks, because Ware seems to have been abandoned by his father and was raised by his maternal grandparents. Great quotes from this guy:

“He’s a good kid and I love him man, and no one wants to see him die,” Salazar said. . . .
“My son has made a bunch of bad choices in his lifetime, but he’s basically a good kid.”

Wrong on both counts, sir. He is not a good kid, and everybody wants to see him die. Don’t tell us we’re “violating his rights.”




 

Crazy or Evil? We Report, You Decide

Say hello to Michael Cook, 33, of Phoenix. His mother says Cook has been diagnosed with schizophrenia but doesn’t take his medicine. This may partly explain his brutal assault last week on 22-year-old Maria Coronado, who was working at a telephone store when Cook suddenly attacked her, a crime captured by store surveillance video:

The victim isn’t buying the “crazy” defense:

Coronado said the Cook was watching her all day until she was alone, and that was when he allegedly came in and attacked her. . . .
Coronado said she saw Cook looking inside the store several times before the attack. . . .
“He was evil,” said Coronado. “He knew what he was doing. This was premeditated. He came four times the whole day, just seeing if there were customers, if I was alone. On Wednesday, he literally told a manager I’m going to come back and kill you.”
Coronado claims no one called police about his prior threats.
“If they would have said something, they probably would have caught him and this wouldn’t have happened,” said Coronado.

Why do you think he would attack her that way? The argument against excusing this as a random act of madness is that, as Coronado said, Cook seemed to be watching the store looking for a chance to find the employee alone — demonstrating he had the mental capacity to plan his crime. According to cops, “Cook admitted to stealing three phones and selling two of them for fentanyl and meth,” and he eluded capture for three days, which indicates a certain degree of rationality. Cook has been charged with multiple felonies for this incident, but what would you like to bet that this is not the first time he’s been arrested for criminal violence?

While it seems to me we can’t rule out the possibility that this was some kind of hate crime, you can be sure that the “social justice” crowd will show no interest in this incident, which won’t be covered by the national media, for some reason. Meanwhile, they’ll go 24/7 covering the “insurrection” hearings in Congress, because that’s a real crime.




 

Clown World in ‘Killadelphia’: DA Krasner Blames NRA for South Street Massacre

Three people were killed and 11 wounded when a shootout erupted in Philadelphia’s South Street entertainment district Saturday night:

Officers patrolling the South Street area heard gunfire shortly before midnight and observed “several active shooters shooting into the crowd,” [Police Inspector D.F.] Pace said.
One officer was “within about 10 to 15 yards” of one of the shooters and fired at the suspect, Pace said. “We’re uncertain whether he was struck or not, but the officer was able to get that individual to drop his gun and flee.”
Two handguns were recovered at the scene, including one with an extended magazine, Pace said. But as of early Sunday, no arrests had been made.

Suspects are at large, but the media will provide no description of the suspects. Did you know the incident was captured on video?

Around 11:30 p.m., three men got into a fight on the 200 block of South Street. Video shows the encounter began as a fistfight, with one man exchanging words with two others, one of whom appears to draw a handgun.
People nearby began to panic. “They about to shoot!” a woman said in the video.
After a short brawl, a volley of gunshots rang out. Vanore said two of the three men in the fight fired at each other. One of them — the man who first drew a handgun — was killed, Vanore said. The other was hospitalized in critical condition.
But the shots in the packed nightlife district sparked chaos. Within seconds, police said, several other people began shooting into crowds gathered outside.
One shooter was a man on the 200 block of South Street, near an intersection with American Street. Police said he fired westbound on South Street. A responding officer, who has not been identified, returned fire, and Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said the officer likely struck him. The man dropped his gun and an extended magazine and ran away. He has not been apprehended.
At least two other guns were fired amid the mayhem, Vanore said, but police have not yet identified the suspected shooters. . . .
Police believe nearly all of the victims were bystanders.

Yeah, these guys don’t look like Trump voters to me, but the reaction from Democratic officials in “Killadelphia” was classic:

“The surge in gun violence that we’ve seen across the nation — and here in Philadelphia — makes me not just heartbroken, but angry,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney said Sunday.
“Once again, we see lives senselessly lost and those injured in yet another horrendous, brazen and despicable act of gun violence.” . . .
The mayor said he’s fed up with senseless gun violence and called for stronger laws to help prevent violent people from getting guns.
“We cannot accept continued violence as a way of life in our country. Until we address the availability and ease of access to firearms, we will always be fighting an uphill battle,” said Kenney.
“I will continue to fight to protect our communities and urge others to advocate for stronger laws that keep guns out of the hands of violent individuals.” . . .
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner called for boycotting National Rifle Association donations and lobbyists.
After the “terrible crimes last night on South Street tell our Pennsylvania legislators it’s time for real action,” Krasner tweeted Sunday.
“Boycott NRA lobbyists, boycott NRA donations, and bring real common sense gun regulation to Pennsylvania. Now.”

Guess how much “senseless gun violence” there was in my neighborhood this weekend? Zero, despite the fact that gun ownership in this vicinity is a lot higher than it is in Philadelphia, which has strict gun control laws.

This is directly related to why the media won’t describe the shooters in this incident, even though these dangerous suspects are still at large. As for Krasner’s comment about the need “for real action” and “common sense gun regulation,” his office is on the record as being against prosecuting cases of illegal gun possession. After shootings increased in 2020, the Philadelphia city council authorized “the Committee on Public Safety and the Special Committee on Gun Violence Prevention” to investigate and prepare a report, which was ultimately issued in January 2022. In that report, the District Attorney’s office said that it was unfair to enforce the city’s gun control laws:

The Police Department . . . noted that the District Attorney’s Office has increasingly failed to win convictions for illegal gun possession, a crime police say must be addressed to curb gunfire in the city.
But prosecutors said there was “little research supporting the approach.” And they noted that one category of gun possession — carrying without a license — was a felony in Philadelphia but a misdemeanor in the rest of the state. They called that legislative decision “inequitable and obviously racist” and said they believe the Police Department’s focus on arresting people for that crime “is having no effect on the gun violence crisis.”
“We do not believe that arresting people and convicting them for illegal gun possession is a viable strategy to reduce shootings,” the DA’s Office wrote.

Incredible! The city, which is plagued by violence, makes it a felony to carry a firearm without a license, but the DA says it’s “obviously racist” to enforce this law, because it’s only a misdemeanor in the rest of the state. So instead you let armed criminals go free and then you’re shocked — shocked! — that they routinely shoot each other in the streets? And then you’re going to blame the NRA for this situation? Like the NRA is to blame for these gun-toting thugs you turned loose?




 

Carjacking While Pregnant

Perhaps the CDC should issue guidelines on this subject, although most expectant mothers probably don’t need to be told this: Engaging in armed carjacking is not recommended during pregnancy.

This is a story told in three headlines:

Notice how the headline changes from one story to the next, even though the facts (known or alleged) are the same in all three stories.

According to police, there was a report of an armed carjacking in Kansas City, Kansas, with the dispatcher broadcasting a detailed description of the stolen vehicle, including the license plate number. On the other side of the Missouri River, in Kansas City, Missouri, police located the vehicle in the parking lot of a Family Dollar store about 8 p.m. Friday:

Two police vehicles with two officers approached the suspect vehicle.
At that point, the male driver ran away northeast and two officers pursued.
The female passenger in the suspect vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Leonna Hale, then got out and fled into the parking lot.

That’s from the KCTV report, published just two hours after the Friday night shooting. By Sunday evening, the Kansas City Star had this:

A witness said a woman had her hands up moments before she was shot multiple times by Kansas City police officers Friday night in a store parking lot. Shédanja, who declined to provide her last name, said the woman was trying to run from officers when they fired at her. . . .
Shédanja, 29, said she went to the store with her three children to get gasoline and ice cream.
She heard officers start yelling, “Get out the car,” to two people who were in the vehicle next to hers. A man exited, jumped a fence and ran. Three officers chased after him, she said.
The woman exited the car with her hands up, Shédanja said. Officers told the woman to get on the ground, but the woman told them she was pregnant, Shédanja said, and couldn’t get down on the ground.
Police asked her to get down multiple times. The woman then told police there was a gun in the vehicle. The woman started backing toward a fence in the parking lot. Several officers approached her and had their weapons drawn, Shédanja said.
“She did not pull out a weapon on them,” she said. “She did not even have a stick in her hand.”
The woman ran three steps away from officers, Shédanja said, and police shot five times.

If this account is accurate, certainly it seems like a “bad shoot,” as they say, and the state police have been called in to investigate.

Why does Raw Story feel it necessary to insert the racial angle in their headline? We don’t know the race of the officers involved in this shooting, but the interim police chief in Kansas City,  Joseph Mabin, happens to be black, and he has promised that his department will cooperate fully with the state police investigation.

Probably there will be policy bodycam and/or dashcam video of this incident, as well as store surveillance video of the parking lot. If such videos are available, then we won’t have to rely on the testimony of Shédanja or any other witnesses to know what happened.

It does not seem, based on what we’ve been told so far, that this shooting was justified, but it seems safe to assume that Chief Mabin is not engaged in a cover-up of a racially-motivated crime. Therefore, all we need to do is wait for the state police to complete their investigation, then the facts will be completely known. Regardless of what the facts may turn out to be, in regard to the shooting, what will be most interesting to learn is why a pregnant woman was a passenger in this vehicle, which was reportedly stolen in an armed carjacking. Did she know it was stolen? Was she a participant in the alleged carjacking? The backstory of this crime must be fascinating, so I’ll try to remember to update if and when we learn it.




 

Aspiring Rapper Update: Frères Jacques

Say hello to Kenard Jacques, Ahmad Jacques and Ameko Jacques of Miami, who are in custody for multiple crimes that include murder charges against Kenard and Ahmad. Two months ago (“Aspiring Rapper Update: ‘Baby Cino’ Gets Out of Jail, Immediately Gets Shot Dead”) we told you the story of Timothy Starks, a/k/a “Baby Cino,” who was only 20 years old when he “died in the hail of gunfire,” shot in broad daylight shortly after he got bailed out of jail. More than 40 shots were fired in that ambush, and “Baby Cino” died while “still wearing the wristband given to inmates at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.”

We are now learning the motive for the murder of “Baby Cino”:

Three brothers are behind bars in connection to a quadruple shooting, and two of them are facing murder charges.
Investigators now say that the quadruple shooting is connected to another shooting on the Palmetto Expressway that shut down traffic for hours.
Now, at least two of those brothers are behind bars for the murder of Troyvon Smith, 26, that happened in February 2022 in northwest Miami-Dade.
This isn’t the first time these brothers have been behind bars.
Kemard Jacques and his brother Ahmad Jacques both face first-degree murder charges and faced a judge.
Police say the two were involved in Smith’s murder. Investigators say six men were involved, including Timothy Starks.
Starks, known as Miami rapper Baby Cino, was shot to death on the Palmetto back in March. Detectives now say his death was likely in retaliation for Smith’s murder.
According to police, Starks had set up the car rentals for those two Mercedes sedans involved and even paid for them to be cleaned after.
Kemard and Ahmad’s brother, Ameko Jacques, also appeared in front of a judge. Police say he was an accomplice in the quadruple shooting in northwest Miami-Dade.
Ameko Jacques was also the driver police arrested for a hit-and-run crash in Brickell in December 2022, when two college students were walking along Southeast 7th Street were hit and seriously injured.
We’re also learning that Kemard Jacques has a lengthy rap sheet. He was shot at in Miami Gardens in 2014 and arrested for bringing a gun inside Miami Northwestern Senior High when he was a teen.
Police say Ahmad was actually hit with a bullet in that quadruple shooting, and say he had somehow gotten shot in the arm and drove one of those Mercedes to the hospital.

Three people were shot and critically wounded and a fourth was killed in an ambush-style shooting in Northwest Miami-Dade late Wednesday afternoon [], according to Miami-Dade police.
A group of men pulled up in two newer model sedans — one black and one white — in the area of Northwest 99th Street and 21st Court, just after 4 p.m., according to police spokesman Alvaro Zabaleta. The men then jumped out of the cars and ran over to the victims, who were on foot, and began shooting. After a barrage of gunshots, he added, the men ran back to their sedans and drove off.
The white sedan headed east on 100th street; the black one headed west.
“They were clearly targeted,” Zabaleta said. “This occurred at 4:12 in the afternoon and there were multiple rounds fired and we could have had more people that had nothing to do with this become victims of the gun violence.”
On Thursday, police named Troyvon Smith, 26, as the man who was shot and killed.
According to Zabaleta, officers responding to a ShotSpotter alert found three wounded men on the street. Smith died at the scene, and two others were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

So, “Baby Cino” rented the cars that were used in the February shooting that killed Smith and wounded three others. Someone — associates of Smith, we may presume — then put the hit on “Baby Cino,” and now the Jacques brothers, associates of “Baby Cino,” are behind bars in connection to Smith’s murder.
