Online dating is for losers and, also, psycho killers:

FBI agents are issuing a warning about dating apps following the murder of a man who was found naked, mutilated and hanging from his ankles in a secret room of a Michigan basement after meeting someone on Grindr.
Kevin Bacon, 25, of Swartz Creek, was mutilated and killed by a man he met on the popular dating app, according to police.
Following Bacon’s murder, FBI agents have an urgent warning about who people are connecting with online. . . .
Michael Glennon, a special agent with the FBI in Detroit, issued a warning about who people talk to online.
“Meet in public,” Glennon said. “I think that’s an important key. Second to that, let somebody know where you’re going and who you’re with, and give them that person’s contact information.” . . .
FBI officials said about one in 10 profiles on dating sites are fake.

This murder in Michigan was particularly gruesome:

Months before the killing, police say, the man’s Grindr dates had fled his basement bondage sessions in partially clothed terror.
One hopped a fence in the middle of an October night to call 911, telling officers of leather ankle straps and a chain used to restrain him. In November, a man ran from Mark Latunski’s house wearing only a leather kilt — chased by Latunski, who told authorities that he just wanted his $300 piece of clothing back.
Both men declined to press charges against Latunski, police said. They said that their sexual activities with him were consensual and that they had simply gotten spooked at the home in a small Michigan township.
Then, late last month, police say they descended into 50-year-old Latunski’s basement about 30 miles from Lansing to discover another match from the same dating app — dead, naked and strung up by the ankles in a hidden room.
The crimes to which Latunski confessed on the spot were gruesome, police say. The defendant explained how he had stabbed 25-year-old Kevin Bacon in the back, suspended him from the ceiling rafters with rope and then slit his throat. In a final act of gore, police say, Latunski cut off Bacon’s testicles and cooked them for consumption.
Latunski has pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and disinterment and mutilation of a body. His attorney, who has not responded to inquiries from The Washington Post, is seeking an insanity defense and has described a litany of past mental health issues, according to court records.
Authorities are combing through the defendant’s history on Grindr and urging people to use caution with dating apps known for linking strangers in casual hookups. But David Kaiser, a first lieutenant with the Michigan State Police, says there is little they could have done to apprehend Latunski after his other hookups’ frightened exits. Police are worried that others involved in bondage activities at the house may be reluctant to come forward.
“He obviously got into something he wasn’t prepared for,” his father, Karl Bacon, told a local news station after court documents revealed the grisly particulars of his son’s death. “We all make mistakes. It’s gut-wrenching to hear the details, and we’re just beside ourselves.”
He told WILX that the revelations showed a “dark side” that Kevin Bacon’s loved ones did not know. Family members have described a top student and a talented hairstylist with a hummingbird tattoo in honor of his grandmother.
“He loved and cherished everyone he touched,” Karl Bacon added.

“We all make mistakes”? True, technically, but few of us make the kind of mistakes that result in our being hoisted from the ceiling rafters in the basement rape dungeon of a psychotic homosexual cannibal.

But you see, we can’t criticize the dead man’s decision-making process, because that would be “blaming the victim.” Like when a freshman girl gets drunk at a college party and goes back to the dorm room of a varsity linebacker. The next morning, she’s going to be sore and sticky and have only the vaguest memories of what happened — did his roommates take turns with her? — but it’s going to be difficult to convict anybody of rape in such a “he-said, she-said” situation. So they’re going to handle the case as a campus disciplinary procedure and expel the football player and you are a bad person if you suggest maybe this girl should have known better than to guzzle vodka and hook up with 275 pounds of NCAA prime beef.

“We all make mistakes,” says the father of the gay hairdresser who was hooking up with total strangers on a gay dating app and — “Oops!” — ended up dead, with no testicles. Just a random coincidence, a mishap, an unfortunate faux pas that could have happened to anybody.

The dead man was such a sweetheart — “He loved and cherished everyone he touched” — as if being nice and courteous means that you can’t also be depraved and decadent. It reminds me of Mackenzie Lueck, the small-town Mormon girl from Utah, much beloved by her sorority sisters at the university, but who nonetheless went for a 3 a.m. rendezvous with a Nigerian guy she only knew from the Internet. Her body was burned and dumped in the desert, and nobody wants to talk about the evidence that she was hustling extra cash as a “sugar baby.”

How many times do I have to repeat myself? Now that the FBI is endorsing my advice, maybe people will start paying attention.



 

Our Moral Superiors

As everyone knows, the academic elite are not only intellectually superior to the rest of us, but they also constitute a quasi-religious caste, a secular priesthood whose credentials qualify them to dictate the answers to our society’s moral questions. In 2004, the University of California at Berkeley published an article celebrating faculty and staff whose enthusiasm for “civil rights” led them to take advantage of San Francisco’s pioneering recognition of same-sex marriage:

Jon Bain-Chekal, who works as an organizational consultant for the Center for Organizational Effectiveness, said that the decision to say ‘I do’ to his partner of ten years, Mark Chekal-Bain, was “a nice personal confirmation.” The two, both Cal alumni, had already exchanged vows in a ceremony with family and friends in 1999. They also registered as domestic partners with the City of Berkeley the previous year, and with the state when that option became available.

Four years later, Bain-Chekal was again featured in UC-Berkeley News, and this time he and his partner of 14 years were pictured with their recently adopted young son. Bain-Chekal was quoted about the need for “more progressive parental-leave policies that don’t focus on the 1950s version of family.” Well, a dozen years later, Bain-Chekal has against made news — not in a good way:

A Berkeley man who oversees UC Berkeley’s operating budget was arrested Thursday morning in connection with a child pornography investigation by the Berkeley Police Department, according to authorities and records online.
Jon Bain-Chekal, 49, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. on suspicion of possession of child pornography, a misdemeanor, according to jail records online.
Berkeley Police spokesman Officer Byron White said BPD’s investigation began with a tip from Internet Crimes Against Children and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Those agencies “received a Cyber tip regarding child pornography from an online account. The account was created and accessed from Jon Bain-Chekal’s residence and work.”
According to BPD, “a search warrant on the online account revealed additional images of child pornography.” On Thursday, police served search warrants at Bain-Chekal’s home and work, BPD said: “Images of child pornography were recovered from a laptop during the search warrant.”
Police said Bain-Chekal admitted, during an interview, that he had viewed and possessed child pornography. He was cited and released from jail Thursday.
White said BPD confiscated devices Thursday “that still need to be forensically searched.” He said charges could potentially be added later and that the misdemeanor charge could potentially change. White declined to say how many pornographic images or potential victims authorities have identified in connection with the case so far.
According to his listing in UC Berkeley’s online campus directory, Bain-Chekal is the director of the UC Berkeley Operating Budget and works at University Hall. On the university’s webpage for the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Bain-Chekal is listed as the executive director of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, which “manages the Budget Process; Central Resource Management; Financial Planning, Reporting, & Analysis; Financial Systems Management; and VC Administration Finance Management.”

Well, let’s not jump to any conclusions, nor should we make this case the basis for any generalizations about “civil rights” enthusiasts because, after all, Bain-Chekal is entitled to a trial by a jury of his peers, and who knows what a jury in Berkeley might decide. Despite the alleged evidence and Bain-Chekal’s alleged confession, he nevertheless might be acquitted, or the charges could be reduced to something trivial. Certainly we know authorities in Berkeley, California, would not wish to unnecessarily inconvenience an employee of the university who is so well-known as an advocate of “progressive” family policies.

Excuse me, my tongue seems to be stuck in my cheek, and my eyes have rolled completely out of my head. Sarcasm can be painful.



 

Florida: The Pervert State

In 2015, a Florida prosecutor told the Miami Herald: “We encourage the criminals to post their photos and videos online. After all these years, they’re still kind enough to do it.” One of the cases to which the prosecutor was referring:

The yearning to show off, prosecutors say, snagged Bryan Yanes and two other West Kendall teenagers. They’re accused of plying girls — ages 12, 13 and 14 — with drugs and booze at a pool party before having group sex.
Miami-Dade detectives learned that Yanes, 18, had posted salacious photos of the tryst to the Instagram account known as “loverboybryan.” Though Yanes’ Instagram account was set to “private,” detectives got the photos anyway, with a search warrant sent to the company’s California office.
The three are awaiting trial for lewd and lascivious battery on children.

One of @loverboybryan’s criminal colleagues was Bianca Byndloss, who was 19 when she was arrested and I blogged about her case in 2014:

Byndloss had used the Twitter account @bibiMiami (now deleted) to promote herself as an “up-and-cumming [sic] porn diva” online. The Miami Herald reports her background:

Byndloss has two previous brushes with the law. In 2013, police arrested her on charges of burglary and petty theft, a case that was quickly dropped. In January, she was charged with misdemeanor battery, a case that was also dropped.

So as soon as she turned 18, Byndloss started racking up an arrest record and, although both those previous charges were dropped, now we find her charged with serious felonies — three counts of lewd and lascivious battery on a minor and promoting sexual performance of a child — in a case where the police say they have overwhelming evidence against her.

One might suppose, given the serious nature of these crimes and the extensive evidence which the criminals themselves posted to social media, that Ms. Byndloss would be spending many years behind bars. Alas, this is Florida, where diddling a 12-year-old is no big deal:

In a plea deal, a 21-year-old porn actress [in December 2016 was] sentenced to 10 years probation for her role in a drug- and alcohol-fueled sex party with three girls, the oldest of whom was 14 at the time.
According to court records, Bianca Byndloss this month copped to her involvement in the May 2014 incident at the Miami home of a male acquaintance. . . .
Byndloss was fined $754 and placed on probation until 2026. Two male codefendants, both of whom were 18 at the time of the sex party, struck similar plea deals earlier this year and were each sentenced to 10 years probation. A fourth defendant, a 21-year-old woman, was sentenced to five years probation.
According to cops, Byndloss and her codefendants “engaged in sexual acts” with the victims, who were 14, 13, and 12 at the time. Byndloss, investigators alleged, transported the minors to the home where they later drank vodka and gin, took Xanax, and had sex.
“Everyone pretty much had sex with everyone,” the 13-year-old victim told police. The 12-year-old victim told cops, “Everyone was taking pictures and recording the sex acts with their cell phones.” One video recovered by police showed the 12-year-old victim “digitally penetrating” Byndloss’s vagina. A photo uploaded to a defendant’s Instagram page showed a naked Byndloss (identified in a police report as “Subject #2”) posing with the 14-year-old victim, who wore only a bikini top.
During a police interview, one of the victims said that the group had also partied at a Miami Beach hotel, and that Byndloss and a male codefendant had sex in a bathroom with the 12-year-old victim.

Not one of these perps was sentenced to prison! Can you imagine if it were your 12-year-daughter — a sixth-grader! — involved in this? This gang of criminal perverts not only had an orgy with three middle-school girls, but they were posting photos and videos online and . . . probation? 

My God, who do they think they are, Jeffrey Epstein?



 

Crazy People Are Dangerous: Canadian Tranny ‘Jessica’ Yaniv Attacks Reporter

A quick refresher, if you don’t know who Jonathan “Jessica” Yaniv is:

Yaniv appeared in court Monday on weapons charges — having allegedly possessed an illegal stun gun — and when a reporter confronted Yaniv outside the courtroom, Yaniv “flew into a rage and charged me,” according to the reporter, Keean Bexte of Rebel News. The attack was captured on camera, with Yaniv shouting: “Get the f–k away from me!” Bexte says he was struck in the head, and that police have been notified.

 

Speaking of dangerous crazy people, six Democrats will be having a debate in Des Moines, Iowa, tonight. It will be televised on an obscure cable channel known as “CNN.” Perhaps you’ve heard of it.



 

Soros-Funded Crime Spree Continues

After 13-year-old Sienna Carter vanished in downtown San Francisco a week ago, a frantic search ensued. The girl was found, a suspect was arrested but now has been set free to prey on other children. Why? In recent years, progressives funded by billionaire George Soros have pursued an agenda of targeting elections for state attorneys general and local district attorneys, while simultaneously promoting so-called “bail reform” initiatives. The combined effect of these left-wing programs is that dangerous criminals are turned loose on the street:

A 22-year-old Los Angeles man arrested earlier this week in connection with the weekend disappearance of a 13-year-old Mendocino County girl visiting San Francisco with her family has been released from jail pending charges.
As the Chronicle is reporting, the District Attorney’s Office — the leadership of which changes today with the swearing in of Chesa Boudin — decided to delay a charging decision in the case. Only yesterday, the paper reported that the suspect, King John Baylon, was facing 18 felonies including possession or control of child pornography, using a minor for sex acts, and kidnapping for child molestation. It’s unclear what prompted the decision to delay charges, but all suspects are legally allowed to get out of jail if prosecutors do not file charges within 48 hours of their arrest.
A spokesperson for the DA’s Office, Alex Bastian, simply said that the case remains under investigation.
Following two days of frantic efforts by the girl’s family, on social and television media, to locate her, both the girl and Baylon were spotted by bystanders who recognized her at the Ferry Building. Authorities believe that Baylon met the girl . . . on the internet. The girl came to the city with her family so that her sister could receive treatment for diabetes at UCSF’s Madison Clinic for Pediatric Diabetes. She reportedly claimed she was feeling carsick and she was then seen on surveillance video exiting the hospital. She was later spotted at a local restaurant, where she met up with the suspect.
Baylon was arrested by UCSF police, and the extent of the pending charges against him suggest that the girl may have been recruited for sex trafficking. The pending charges also included meeting a minor for lewd purposes, arranging a meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, contact with a minor for sexual offense, lewd acts upon a child, human trafficking involving a minor, and oral copulation of a person under 18.

So a sex trafficker kidnaps a 13-year-old girl and, because of “bail reform,” this creep is now back on the street, whereabouts unknown.

Thanks a lot, “progressives”!



 

A ‘Hate Crime’ CNN Won’t Mention

“Intersectionality” in action:

Jasmine Renee Campbell is the Oregon woman facing hate crime charges after investigators said she tried to strangle a woman using the victim’s hijab.
The confrontation happened at the TriMet MAX train station in Portland on November 12, 2019. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s office announced the charges on January 3, 2020.
The victim did not suffer serious physical injuries. But District Attorney Rod Underhill explained in a news release that the victim told the police that she “no longer feels safe wearing a hijab in public.” . . .
According to the Portland Police Bureau, which is the department that led the investigation, Jasmine Renee Campbell allegedly approached the victim from behind on November 12, 2019, at a train station. Officials say that Campbell is accused of grabbing the hijab and using it to try to choke the victim.
The victim managed to push Campbell away. But, according to the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office, Campbell continued the assault. The victim said Campbell forcibly ripped the hijab from the victim’s head. Campbell then allegedly rubbed the garment “across multiple exposed sexually intimate parts” of her own body.  . . .
The Multnomah County District Attorney’s office says the two women were strangers to each other. The victim was not identified by name.
But investigators described her as a 24-year-old student at Portland State University. She is a foreign exchange student from Saudi Arabia. . . .
As of this writing on January 5, Jasmine Renee Campbell was not in custody. Court records with the Oregon Judicial Department show that there is an active warrant for her arrest. . . .
The District Attorney’s Office says that the arrest warrant remains active because Campbell failed to show up for a scheduled court hearing. Campbell had been ordered to appear at the Multnomah County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. on January 3, 2020.

So, not only did Campbell attack a Muslim immigrant, but she is now at large, a fugitive from justice, free to attack others. If such an Islamophobic hate crime against an immigrant had been committed by a white male right-wing Trump supporter, CNN would be giving us hourly updates on the manhunt for this dangerous fugitive. As it is, however, this crime is strictly “local news” for some reason . . .

Mexicans in Kansas

Seven people killed in two separate crimes. Suspects are in custody:

Suspects in a mass shooting a Kansas City, Kansas, bar, and a recent triple homicide are now charged with capital murder and could face the death penalty, the Wyandotte County district attorney announced Wednesday.
Wyandotte County District Attorney Mark Dupree Sr. released the amended charges against three men in two separate cases during a news conference.
Dupree first addressed the mass shooting that killed four people and wounded five others Oct. 6 at the Tequila KC bar near 10th Street and Central Avenue.
Two men, Hugo Villanueva-Morales, 30, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Javier Alatorre, 24, of Kansas City, were initially charged with four counts of first-degree murder. The victims who died in the shooting were Everardo Meza, 29, Alfredo Calderon Jr, 29, Francisco Garcia Anaya, 34, and Martin Rodriguez-Gonzalez, 58.

Alatorre was arrested quickly after the shooting. Villanueva-Morales fled to Mexico, where he was arrested and was recently brought back to the metro area to face charges. Both remain in the county jail.
Dupree said Wednesday that Villanueva-Moreales and Alatorre are now each charged with capital murder for the four deaths. . . .
The district attorney’s office also announced amended charges against Ismael Caballero in the deaths of a Kansas City, Kansas, mother and her two children. Their bodies were found in a burning home at 29 N. Mill St. on Dec. 30. Kansas City, Kansas, police were investigating the deaths as homicides but have not said how the three victims died.
Caballero, 31, is charged in district court with capital murder for the deaths of the two children, Amerikha Rodriguez, 14, and Jean Carlo Rodriguez, 10, and is charged with second-degree murder for the death of their 31-year-old mother, Yazmin Rodriguez-Santilla.

Is should not be necessary to explain the point here, but I will: Some places in the United States have a long history of Latino settlement, with communities stretching back for generations, even centuries. One is not surprised by the large Mexican-American populations in California, Arizona or Texas, and we’re accustomed to Cubans in Miami, Puerto Ricans in New York, etc. However, on does not think of Kansas City this way, so when the headlines inform us that three guys named Villanueva-Morales, Alatorre and Caballero are charged with killing a combined total of seven people named Meza, Calderon, Anaya, Rodriguez-Gonzalez, Rodriguez and Rodriguez-Santilla in Wyandotte County, Kansas — well, what the heck is going on here? It appears, for example, that two gunmen can open fire in a Kansas City bar without risk that any of their bullets will hit someone who was actually born in America.

As evidence that our immigration problem is absolutely out of control, this situation in Kansas City is rather conclusive, but notice that this criminal mayhem in Kansas is just “local news.” If some deranged “alt-right” white guy had shot four Mexicans in Kansas City, CNN would be providing around-the-clock updates, but because it’s Mexicans killing Mexicans, nobody at the networks seems to care.

Did Arsonists Cause Australia’s ‘Crisis’?

TV news is full of scenes of out-of-control wildfires in Australia, where it’s been a dry, hot summer. Fortunately, the forecast this week in Sydney is for cooler, rainy weather, but we continue seeing televised scenes of people fleeing the catastrophic fires that have destroyed their homes. While environmentalists claim these fires prove the dangers of “climate change,” in fact criminals are making a significant contribution:

More than 180 alleged arsonists have been arrested since the start of the bushfire season, with 29 blazes deliberately lit in the Shoalhaven region of southeast [New South Wales] in just three months.
The Shoalhaven fires were lit between July and September last year, with Kempsey recording 27 deliberately lit fires, NSW Bureau of Crime and Statistics and Research data shows.
Police arrested 183 people for lighting bushfires across Queensland, NSW, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania in the past few months. NSW police data shows 183 people have been charged or cautioned for bushfire-related offences since November 8, and 24 arrested for deliberately starting bushfires.
Queensland police say 101 people have been picked up for setting fires in the bush, 32 adults and 69 juveniles.

One of these arsonists was arrested last week:

A 79-year-old South Australian man has been charged with intentionally lighting four grass and scrub fires in the state’s southeast in recent days.
Police will allege the man lit fires on December 30 and January 2, and then two on Saturday, all in the Kingston area.
He has been refused police bail and will appear in Mount Gambier Magistrates Court on Monday.

There was this report in December:

Almost 100 firebugs have deliberately started blazes across Queensland that have destroyed homes and consumed thousands of hectares of bushland. . . .
A 16-year-old boy found to have started a fire that razed 14 homes in central Queensland and dealt with under the state’s Youth Justice Act.
Two more teens, 14 and 15, were charged with endangering property by fire over a blaze that destroyed two homes and forced hundreds to flee.

In November, there was this report:

NSW Police have charged two men with stealing firefighting equipment during [a Nov. 12] bushfire crisis, as they probe several “suspicious” blazes around the state.
In a separate incident, officers also charged a 19-year-old with impersonating a firefighter and stealing equipment in Sydney’s south.
It comes as police investigate seven “suspicious” fires across the state on Tuesday. . . .
Five people have also faced penalties over breaches of the statewide total fire ban for either using barbecues with an open flame or burning rubbish over the past 24 hours.
Police Commissioner Mick Fuller said it was hard to understand why people would take such risks in catastrophic conditions.
“Unfortunately we know there are some broken individuals out there who will maliciously light fires and we also have people out there who are just plain idiots and will try and light a barbeque on a day that it’s catastrophic,” he said. . . .
NSW Police and fire investigators made a public appeal for more information regarding fires that may have been deliberately lit.
“It’s awful. It angers every firefighter and angers everybody in the community,” RFS commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said.
“Clearly we are looking at those as suspicious, particularly the one in Loftus were there were multiple ignition points in the Royal National Park there.”

Whoa — “multiple ignition points“? Clearly, this is evidence of deliberate criminal activity, and we know that dozens of people have been arrested since November for arson. What we don’t know is the identity of these “broken individuals,” or what their motives might have been. In the absence of such information, however, some Australians have begun to suspect that some of these arsonists may be environmentalists (“Greens”) trying to manufacture a crisis to dramatize their cause. We don’t have any proof that this is the case, so it is irresponsible to speculate, and Arthur Chrenkoff advises using common sense:

Most people (I hope) understand that trees tend not to spontaneously combust, no matter what the air temperature is; when we talk about bushfires starting naturally, we are talking about lightning strikes igniting tinder. The climate change argument posits that the more extreme weather conditions — higher temperatures, drought and so forth — make fires, however started, much more destructive and much more difficult to control and extinguish. These are debates to be had between climatologists, forestry experts and firefighters.What is painfully clear, however, that Australia has a firebug crisis. It will no doubt be up to future royal commissions and inquiries to calculate exactly what proportion of the current loss and destruction can be attributed to human action, but I suspect it will be a significant one. Mankind may be causing climate change, but man is most definitely making fires start.

Various leftists have declared that it is a “conspiracy theory” — a “coordinated misinformation campaign” spread by “climate denial traitors” using Twitter “bots” — to call attention to the role played by arsonists in the Australian brush fires. The facts are still the facts, however, and indisputable facts are never “misinformation.”
