Will The SEALs Do For BHO What Goldberg Is Doing For Progressives?

Bagram sucks, I can affirm, having languished there for a couple of months. If #OccupyResoluteDesk wants to #OccupyBagram, more power to him. How cheap is his one-year-on, please-can-we-not-talk-economy victory lap going to look in the face of blowback from the SEALs, though?

The bulk of the people paying attention this year kinda know that this is all stuff and nonsense. Obama’s record bounces like a check with his face on it.

But the scope of the rebuke isn’t limited only to Barack himself and the one dog bone he has to gnaw after 3.5 years in office. Goldberg’s new book, The Tyranny of Cliches, out today, is going to have the effect on the Left as a whole that the SEALs are having on Obama (emphasis original):

Meanwhile, liberals and other progressives hold it as a bedrock article of ideological faith that they are not ideological. In short: Pragmatism is the disguise progressive and other ideologues don when they want to demonize competing ideologies.

I actually don’t think Jonah is going far enough here: Progressives aren’t just demonizing competing ideologies, they’re demonizing rationality itself. Every play of theirs seems an attack on the foundational ideas of Western Civilization: equality before the law, private property, freedom of conscience and liberty. However, if this book does as well as Liberal Fascism (I expect it will do even better), the Left is going to find itself reduced to wrapping itself in the woobie and whine in the corner.

My intention is to post a little quote from every chapter, as I savor this outing.

Update: cue The Lid with the SEAL video. Note that there boats, swift or not, were not used in the famous raid:

OMG! ‘Peace Studies’ Dude Blames Jews, Recommends Reading ‘Protocols’?

Posted on | May 1, 2012 | 16 Comments

Our secret Zionist masters have been kinda late with the payments lately, but my role in the conspiracy still requires me to denounce this:

Johan Galtung, Norwegian sociologist nicknamed the “father of peace studies,” made anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli remarks while lecturing at the University of Oslo, in an article published afterward in the Norwegian press and in an interview with Haaretz that followed.
Among other statements, Galtung claimed that a possible connection exists between the terrorist responsible for the massacre of children in Norway last summer, and the Mossad. “The Jews control U.S. media, and divert for the sake of Israel,” wrote Galtung in an article published in Norway . . .
Galtung also recommended reading “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” – one of the most popular anti-Semitic texts in the world.
Professor Galtung, 82-years-old, is one of the founders of the discipline called “Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution,” as well as a founder of the international Peace Research Institute in Oslo. . . .
Galtung’s repeated anti-Semitic remarks were exposed by the website of the Norwegian periodical, “Humanist.”

(Via Memeorandum.) I’d offer some commentary here, but headquarters in Tel Aviv hasn’t yet told me what my opinion will be.

UPDATE: Daniel Bergstein Foster at Dual Citizen National Review reads this a little further down into the article:

Galtung stated that there is a possible link between Anders Behring Breivik, responsible for massacring dozens of children in Norway last summer, and Jewish and Israeli factions. The connection is supposedly based on the fact that the murderer has ties to the “Freemasons” organization, “which has Jewish origins,” according to Galtung. The supposed connection to Israel is through the Mossad – which Galtung believes might have given Breivik his orders.

I’m sure that famous Norwegian “peace” advocate Vidkun Quisling would be so proud of Professor Galtung.

BTW, while we’re awaiting our monthly delivery of shekels from the International Zionist Conspiracy, I’d like to point out that we are always happy to accept U.S. dollars from Gentiles. Mazel tov!

Does Steve Forbes Know (or Care) What Lewis Dvorkin Is Doing to His Brand?

Posted on | May 1, 2012 | 17 Comments

OK, I’ve been meaning to write about this for a while, and actually started to do it two or three times, but set it aside, until at last I’ve had enough: What the hell is Steve Forbes thinking?

What finally pushed me over the edge was when I realized that Rick Ungar is now writing under the Forbes banner.

Does that name ring a bell? In 2009, when the body of Census worker Bill Sparkman was found in a Kentucky cemetery, it was Rick Ungar who notoriously declared, “Send the Body to Glenn Beck” — falsely claiming that “anti-government” rhetoric by Beck, Rush Limbaugh and Lou Dobbs had made Sparkman the first victim of Tea Party violence.

Unfortunately for Ungar’s credibility, it turned out that Sparkman had committed suicide and staged it to look like a murder, apparently hoping to secure an extra life-insurance payout for his adopted son.

Ungar has never even admitted he was wrong, much less apologized to the innocent people he defamed, and now this reckless smear merchant has been rewarded with a gig writing for Forbes! Read more

BREAKING: Elizabeth Warren 3.1% Saintly Victim, 96.8% Evil Oppressor UPDATED: Her 1/32nd Legacy of Shame UPDATED: Her Confederate Heritage?

Posted on | May 1, 2012 | 42 Comments

Quick, give this lady a casino license:

Desperately scrambling to validate Democrat Elizabeth Warren’s Native American heritage amid questions about whether she used her minority status to further her career, the Harvard Law professor’s campaign last night finally came up with what they claim is a Cherokee connection — her great-great-great-grandmother.
“She would be 1?32nd of Elizabeth Warren’s total ancestry,” noted genealogist Christopher Child said, referring to the candidate’s great-great-great-grandmother, O.C. Sarah Smith, who is listed on an Oklahoma marriage certificate as Cherokee. Smith is an ancestor on Warren’s mother’s side, Child said.

UPDATE: On behalf of the conservative blogosphere, I would like to apologize to Professor Warren Redbone for our previous skepticism — indeed, cruel mockery — of her claim to be a Native American.

Just because she’s blonde and makes a half-million dollars a year, doesn’t mean she’s not a victim of racist oppression. I’m sure when she was growing up, she faced vicious schoolyard taunts — “squaw” and “1/16th half-breed” — which so many children must endure.

UPDATE II: Sources in Boston say Democrat strategists have come up with a new theme song for Professor Redbone’s Senate campaign:

UPDATE III: “The other children always laughed at me …”

UPDATE IV: Donald Douglas points out that the Boston Globe is also reporting on Professor 1/16th Half-Breed’s legacy of shame:

A record unearthed Monday shows that Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren has a great-great-great grandmother listed in an 1894 document as a Cherokee, said a genealogist at the New England Historic and Genealogy Society.

Eighteen ninety-four? Professor Warren’s ancestors were victims of racism 70 years before Jesse Jackson marched in Selma!

Meanwhile, we are unable to verify this e-mail we just received from Warren campaign headquarters, informing us that “the White Man’s Law” prevents them from accepting contributions of wampum beads, although “donations of blankets and firewater are especially appreciated.”

UPDATE V: Professor Glenn Reynolds Redskin has twice as much Native American ancestry as Professor Warren.

UPDATE VI: While we await our casino licenses — we’ve all got a Cherokee ancestor somewhere in our family trees, right? — I’ll point out that the Cherokee Nation allied itself with the Confederate States of America, and fought under Gen. Stand Watie, C.S.A.

This means that Professor Warren is almost certainly eligible for membership in the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

Let’s hope those Yankees in Massachusetts will forgive and forget . . .

Obama Administration Has Progressed Far Beyond ‘Conservative Lemmings’

A couple of great graphics from the excellent Yid With Lid:These sheep are happy not to be the pigs owned by the Gadarenes.
The Lid’s post is all about how the Administration’s energy policy is killing the economy. It occurred to me in conversation with someone that Obama isn’t against fracking: he’s fracking society into balkanized little chunks from which to extract political energy.
In response to yesterday’s Axelrod post, The Lid offered:

These Commies do view society as their little frackable flock of sheep.

Update: just in fracking time, linked by Daily Pundit.

E-Mail From Bert the Samoan Lawyer

What? You doubt that he’s actually Samoan? What kind of vicious racist hatemonger are you, to doubt Bert the Samoan Lawyer?

It’s impossible to be sure about this Elizabeth Warren/Native American thing but I will bet you …  a Ruth’s Chris dinner the next time [you are] in Alabama that if Elizabeth Warren was listing herself as a “Native American” minority while teaching law at Texas and Penn (in faculty directories) she was using that claim to get preferential treatment in hiring at those places. Remember Ward Churchill? Claiming Native American ancestry is a known scam, especially useful at state universities that are, to put it mildly, obsessed with ethnic diversity in the professoriate. It also turns up a lot with people who want to run gambling operations free of state-law impediments.
In addition, there are about 1,000 contexts in which falsely claiming minority status is a federal crime.
The non-denial denials coming out of Warren’s campaign coupled with the lame attempt to paint Scott Brown as conducting a war on women by calling Warren on this suggest to me that this story is going to have legs. Long ones.
This woman almost became the top cop of the entire financial industry. Maybe she’ll pull a Geithner: “so what if I cheated on my taxes; now I run the Treasury!” But I’m hoping the investigative blogosphere will get on this hard. There is almost no way she could have listed herself as a minority in a faculty directory if she was not doing so on more official documents.

While Bert’s Samoan authenticity is beyond doubt, the Native American authenticity of Elizabeth “Dances With Socialists” Warren is being mocked by Allahpundit, InstapunditWilliam Jacobson, Moe Lane, Weasel Zippers, Tom Maguire, Mark Steyn, Ace of Spades and Ace of Spades — really, she needed mocking twice by Ace — to say nothing of every talk-radio host within range of a microphone.

Somehow, despite the vigorous denials Harvard Law is issuing to the New York Times, and even though she’s “working on digging up some sort of evidence to appease you,” I’m thinking this “Cherokee Princess” bit is pretty much the nail in the coffin of Warren’s campaign.

Imagine you’re a blue-collar Irish Democrat in Boston. Your kid didn’t get into Harvard, did he? This rich blonde Harvard professor who gets paid half a million bucks a year claims she’s the great-great-grandaughter of Pocahontas or something?

Elizabeth Warren’s Indian name: Loses Like Coakley.

But … It Was an ‘Interactive Lesson’!

Posted on | May 1, 2012 | 9 Comments

Some people obviously don’t understand innovative advanced postmodern educational methodology:

A Bluffton (S.C) Middle School teacher is accused of grabbing a seventh-grader by his shirt collar, forcing him under a desk and telling him, “This is what the Nazis do to Jews,” according to the Bluffton Police Department. . . .
A lawyer for social studies teacher Patricia Mulholland said she was merely conducting an “interactive lesson” on the Holocaust during a class Wednesday. . . .
The alleged victim told authorities that as he was returning to his desk after sharpening his pencil, Mulholland grabbed him by the collar and said, “Come here, Jew,” and dragged him 10 to 12 feet, according to the police report.

She was merely conducting an “interactive lesson,” see? Some other “interactive lessons” she might consider:

  • Bringing bloodhounds to school to chase down students playing “runaway slaves”;
  • Having students re-enact the experiences of the Donner Party, including cannibalism;
  • Using lighter fluid to simulate a napalm attack on seventh-grade “Vietnam villagers”; and
  • Strapping explosives onto students for an “interactive Intifada.”

For their special interactive lesson unit on the 1960s, students will use illegal drugs, have sex and listen to rock music.

Of course, they do that all the time anyway . . .

Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky … Obama!

Posted on | April 30, 2012 | 40 Comments

Yes, comrades, they all share the same slogan: “Forward!”

The Obama campaign apparently didn’t look backwards into history when selecting its new campaign slogan, “Forward” — a word with a long and rich association with European Marxism. . . .
The slogan “Forward!” reflected the conviction of European Marxists and radicals that their movements reflected the march of history, which would move forward past capitalism and into socialism and communism. . . .
There have been at least two radical-left publications named “Vorwaerts” (the German word for “Forward”). One was the daily newspaper of the Social Democratic Party of Germany whose writers included Friedrich Engels and Leon Trotsky. It still publishes as the organ of Germany’s SDP, though that party has changed considerably since World War II. Another was the 1844 biweekly reader of the Communist League. Karl Marx, Engels and Mikhail Bakunin are among the names associated with that publication.
